Kwaam Lap Kong Superstar: Ep18 PREVIEW

Today’s episode centered around Oum’s side story. Gaye sold his gay pageant pictures to the press and he is on the brink of losing his acting career. Get this, in order to save himself, he makes up a lie saying that Manager Pae, Gun’s noble gay manager, coerced him into participating in the pageant. My god! I’m so disgusted by Oum. Clearly, he wanted to be Mr. “Gay” Speedo and no coercion was needed.

The good thing, Gun gave Oum a good can of ass whooping. You go Gun!

Thailand on the brink.

I’ll make this short because I know so little about Thai politics.

Yesterday, Thailand declared a temporary state of emergency after clashes between pro-government protesters and anti-government protesters left 1 person dead and many others injured.

The Thai government wants to disperse the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD), an anti-government group that has been protesting against the government for quite some time.

The PAD, comprising of Thais mostly from the South (Bangkok), wants to bring down the government to whom they see as corrupt.

On the other side, we have the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), comprising of people mostly from the poorer North. They want to maintain the current regime because they getting farming subsidies and other benefits from the government.

Reminds me of the US civil war, clashes between the north and south.

I don’t know what to make of the political turmoil in Thailand. I do feel distress about it.

To learn more, here is a google news result about the political problems in Thailand.

Also, if you want to know more, check out BBKdreamer’s blog. He’s a fellow Thai blogger who lives in Bangkok. I guess you can say he is in the zone.

Premier: Soo Saeng Tawan

In a few hours, “Soo Saeng Tawan (“Reaching for the Sunlight”) will premier on Ch7, taking up the Monday-Tuesday time lot and replacing Por and Noon’s lakon “Kom Faek” and I must say it has one of the most diabolical pra’eks out there.

As I was reading the synopsis, I thought my god he is like a prisoner from death row, “my mother abandon me and I came from an abusive foster care system, so I decided to shot everyone down to vent out my frustration on society and my mother.” Wow.

Pra’ek shouldn’t even be called pra’ek when he is running around sniper shooting everyone and trying to kill his mother, who abandoned him as a baby. Pra’ek also tries to kill his younger half-brother by causing him to go under a major asthma attack, his brother is asthmatic and he used it against him. Dude is crazy. He spends his every waking hour strategizing for ways to destroy his mother’s life and career and also the people around her. Crazy.

I think we should come up with a new vocab for this type of pra’ek. They should be known as pra’ek rai, meaning “villain leading man”. Or do you like “pra’ek ba”, crazy leading man.

Pra’ek lai is played by Tle Thanapol and nang’ek is played by Pancake Khemmanid.

Supporting cast includes:

Aof Chanapol as Chongon, pra’ek’s half brother
Jakajan Akumsiri as Rawee, servant girl in Nafah’s household.
Chadaporn Rattanakorn as Nafah, pra’ek’s mother

What’s going on here? I don’t know. Looks entertaining though.

Pictures of the crew goofing off during their break. Tubbytinker, Sarnworld member, found the pictures at Pantip forum.

Tle doesn’t look that bad.
