In a few hours, “Soo Saeng Tawan (“Reaching for the Sunlight”) will premier on Ch7, taking up the Monday-Tuesday time lot and replacing Por and Noon’s lakon “Kom Faek” and I must say it has one of the most diabolical pra’eks out there.
As I was reading the synopsis, I thought my god he is like a prisoner from death row, “my mother abandon me and I came from an abusive foster care system, so I decided to shot everyone down to vent out my frustration on society and my mother.” Wow.
Pra’ek shouldn’t even be called pra’ek when he is running around sniper shooting everyone and trying to kill his mother, who abandoned him as a baby. Pra’ek also tries to kill his younger half-brother by causing him to go under a major asthma attack, his brother is asthmatic and he used it against him. Dude is crazy. He spends his every waking hour strategizing for ways to destroy his mother’s life and career and also the people around her. Crazy.
I think we should come up with a new vocab for this type of pra’ek. They should be known as pra’ek rai, meaning “villain leading man”. Or do you like “pra’ek ba”, crazy leading man.
Pra’ek lai is played by Tle Thanapol and nang’ek is played by Pancake Khemmanid.
Supporting cast includes:
Aof Chanapol as Chongon, pra’ek’s half brother
Jakajan Akumsiri as Rawee, servant girl in Nafah’s household.
Chadaporn Rattanakorn as Nafah, pra’ek’s mother
What’s going on here? I don’t know. Looks entertaining though.
Pictures of the crew goofing off during their break. Tubbytinker, Sarnworld member, found the pictures at Pantip forum.
Tle doesn’t look that bad.
Synopsis translated:
Note: I didn’t translate it completely, I skipped parts to make it shorter.
Nafah (Chadaporn Rattanakorn) comes from a long line of politician and is a political herself. She has one older half brother named Sukdeena (Tanongsak Suppakarn), who is her political rival and enemy.
When Nafah was 20 years old, she became pregnant by a man named Sook (Trakarn Pantumlerut). Khun Ying Soi (I’m assuming it is Nafah’s mother. The synopsis never indicated their relationship) felt embarrassed and disappointed by Nafah’s predictament so she sent Nafah to the country until she delivered her baby. Simulanteously after the baby was born, Khun Ying Soi drags Nafah back and had her minions beat Sook to death. And, the baby was placed in an orphanage.
After that, Nafah married Mom Rachawong Songsak (Tin Settachok) and they had a son together named Chongon and nicknamed Mek (Aof Chanapol). Chongon grows up spoiled and cheerful.
All is well in her life until one day her household receives 2 new servants, a guy and a girl. The girl servant is named Rawee ( Jakajan Akumsiri ) and the boy servant is named Juntakarn or Gun(Tle Thanapol). Nafah gets a strange vibe from Gun and it’s not because he has a big scar across his face. Nafah sees a lot of anger and resentment in his eyes.
Gun is actually Nafah’s long lost son with Sook and he wants revenge.
Gun was adopted by yaba dealing paretns.. When Gun refuses to sell yaba with them, his adopted parents would brutalybeat him. One day, tired of the beatings, he stabbed and killed his adopted father and ran away. Gun, then, meets up with Darong, a man who knows everything about him and his secret birth. Gun becomes enraged when he finds out his birth mother is Nafah. From that day forth, he vows revenge.
For the next few years, Gun strategized a way to get revenge on his mother Nafah. With vengeance in his heart, he works real hard to improve himself. He goes abroad and studied political science. He returns to Thailand with a new name and begins his plan for revenge.
Gun attempts to murder Nafah and Chongon several times but something always goes wrong. He messed with her car brakes but someone is there to help her out. He tries to shot her, someone is there again to help her out.
Then one day, Nafah introduces Chongon to Linin (Pancake Khemmanid ) the daugther of Samer, a millionaire and Nafah’s financial supporter for her political party. Chongon falls deeply in love with Linin and they decide to get marry. On their wedding day, Gun kidnaps Linin.
At first, Gun and Linin bicker and fight nonstop, gradually they begin to develop feelings for each other.
Chongon sinks to utter dispair after Linin’s kidnapping. However, he is able to regroup and grow as a person from the help of Rawee. After that, Chongon enters the political arena and is loved by the public.
On the day of the election, Gun decides to bring Linin back to civilization. He attempts to kill his mother at the election but his plan is foiled when Rawee blocks the gunshot.
To make matter worst for Gun, Linin start seeing Chongon again because she is fend up with Gun’s psycho tendencies. She wants him to admit wrong for what he has done to her but he refuses. To get Linin back, he *coughs coughs* her and she becomes pregnant with his child.
Gun, then, builds an alliance with Nafah’s political rival and he becomes their choice for party leader or something along those lines.
At the election or official nomination convention, Gun reveals to everyone about his past and broadcast to the world that Nafah is his mother. Everyone is shock. Linin feels disgusted that she was used by Gun as a tool for his vengence against his mother. Linin tells Gun that she is pregnant with his child and that she drank an abortion potion to get rid of it because she doesn’t want to spawn someone who could be like him. Gun is stunned because he didn’t know she was pregnant.
Note: I highly doubt that Linin drank the abortion potion because Thai lakorns have always been pro-life. If nang’rai gets rape and becomes pregnant, she always keep the baby.
Gun reforms after the news but will it be to late? I guess you have to watch to find out.

this one seems similar to the one pancake play with stefan because in that lakorn, isn’t stefan seeking revenge also. I like tle and jakajan together. I was so happy to find out that they are twins because of their reactions. They are cute in here. I’m actually watching this lakorn with my sister for tle and jakajan.
oooo I loved tle in dung duang haruthai when he played the soldier! i wish they had a different nang ek though. no offense to pancake fans. i like this look for aof better than his look in sbs with pinky. they playboy loks suits him hehe.
what this movie seem so stupid, he trying to kill his mom, so is tle still p’ek
Ahh man why couldn’t Aof be the p’ek..I really started to like him now…that suck
I can’t believe Chadaporn is coming back as a mom. Except for the under-eyes looking baggy she doesn’t look that old, imo.
This might be the first Pancake lakorn that I follow up on….no offense to Pancake fans but she’s just not one of my personal favorite…anywho..that don’t matter, I whole pregnant and maybe getting rid of the baby has just got me all nervous..plus this is the first time where the male lead seems like a total freak…so we’ll just have to see won’t we*_^
Wow it’s good to see Chadaporn back on screen again! But gosh a mother?? Ugh this is just a sign of me getting OLD.
BLAH!!! too much drama.. the p’ek is crazy! dude, does he realy have to go around killing people.. i don’t think he should be the p’ek..
What is up with CH7 and all their crazy plots? I have notice theyhad been doing alot of crazy p’ek goign for revenge lakorns!!!
Sound Dumb. Is this going to be worse than Pinky and Aof lakorn.
wth, WOW, SUPER INTENSE AND THE PA’EK IS A PSYCHO! AOF IN A SUPPORTING ROLE…HMMM.
I think I would be more interested if Pancake wasn’t the N’ek. I don’t know- I haven’t even watched anything with her in it- but I am so sick of seeing her everywhere.
I guess we are just so used to our P’ek being a knight on a white horse. It does bother me that this P’ek is just so vengeful. But then again- I’ve been trying to veer away from the lakorns with small and meek N’eks. Maybe should also change my perception of the traditional P’ek as well.
Will you be providing us with subs and caps for this one along with the new one from Ateam?
wow! i just noticed (i’ve just recently started watching) that in thai lakorn the main guy just loves kidnapping and raping the main chick! it’s almost disgusting that the thai entertainment still has this type of thing in their tv programs. i guess, in a way, you can’t really blame the industry when it’s the audience who likes this type of thing, but then again, it’s the industry’s fault for projecting this type cultural influence onto the people.
Cool drama but I don’t think I’ll be watching it nor even be looking forward to it. Especially with the pra’ek rai’s (i like the sound of it!) vicious and (always) enraged feelings. Men who are like that in real life are deadly!
About the whole abortion portion, I don’t believe that Linin would actually do it. Maybe this’ll be like Swaam Lub Kong Superstar whereas Gun’s (Mos) mother told Bancha that she aborted the baby. But she actually kept the baby without his knowledge. Who knows Linin might just be saying that she used some abortion potion to ‘avenge’ what he did to her.
seeing Aof reminds me of SBS! gosh..how i wish the ending and storyline would’ve been the same!! ..<
hmmm…sounds like another one of those revenge series…kind of like the one aof and pinky just finished airing…anyways, i’m looking forward to seeing tle’s performance as pra’ek so i’ll be watching this…if it gets too ridiculous i might just stick with the summaries…but yeah, pra’ek’s role really does sound kind of crazy…
