Work before LOVE

It is part of the fan-base accessibility image ploy but it still annoys me to no end. Most Thai stars follow a script when trying to answer about their love lives–work always come before love and no they’re not lonely, they have their moms.

A well-known mama’s boy, Rome told a reporter during an one-on-one interview that work is more important and love can wait for later.

His response when asked about his love life:

This line of work is tiring and I’m not hiding a lover. It has always been like this, there is not a lot of people who come into my life. I have existed like this for a long time. When I have personal time off, I work-out at the house or care for my dog. It is rarity I even get personal time off, but on the rare cases that I do, I don’t even want to go anywhere. I just stay at home. My phone bill, I don’t even go out and pay for it, I make my mother do it consistently because I just want to stay at home and care for my dog or ride my motorcycle.

So you’re saying work comes first and love can come later?
I say that work is harder to find than love. It’s true that wealth can’t help you find a girlfriend and love can not be brought; however, I believe in fate. We’re at this place because of fate, when the time comes, it will come by itself.

Though I’m not sure whether “Som” Thansinee, actress from “Supaab Borut Satan (Gentleman Satan)” believes in fate but she also follows the same philosophy as Rome—work before love and she is a mama’s girl.

Som’s response when asked why she hasn’t found a boyfriend yet:

Maybe it is because I have not found that person yet and also I’m not ready to date anyone. I been continuously working and don’t have time. When you asked whether I was lonely, I say occasionally. It depends on my mood. But I do have my mother around as a friend so I feel complete. My mother and I are very close. If I was to see someone, I know for sure my mother would be greatly concerned. Not having anyone is also a good thing because I’m a workaholic. If I had a boyfriend there wouldn’t be time for him and we wouldn’t last. If I do have a boyfriend and it’s not the collar on your neck type, I would be happy.

Jik, the cougar strikes again

I’m sure many of you are wondering who in the heck are these people. Jik and X? I’ve never heard of them. Me too, I’ve never taken noticed of them until now.

“X” Thitnan, an actor who is currently playing  Ta Warit’s gay lover in “Botun Greep Sod Tai” and Jik Naowarat, an old time actress who constantly plays “mother” nang’rai roles in lakorns are ‘talking’.

“X” Titnan revealed to the press about their relationship a few days ago, he told them:

Jik is a fun person to talk to, as I’m not a talkative person. Our relationship started when we entered the “Superstar” house. At the time, many people wondered whether our get-together was a method of promotion or not. I don’t know why I would need to promote. The current trend of thought: I was “X” Thitnan and if this news didn’t appear, I wouldn’t be as famous as now.

Jik, is she the one yet?
As of today, whether she is the one or not, I say it’s okay. She is the person I need to investigate more. At the moment, I enjoy talking to her, we talk in the status of having fun. Whenever I talk to her, I sense happiness. In the status of a relationship or not, only time will prove that Jik is the “special person” or not. Well, she is the “special” person, we’re very close. I think at this time, my closeness to Jik is at its utmost.

And, what about the future?
Regarding love, whether we are dating or not, I have not hoped for anything. Right now, I see that Jik is happy and talking to her is a joy so I continue.

Worried about the generational gap?
It holds no bearing, people of the same age break up all the time.

The couple met while filming that sleazy talent reality show “Superstar” for Modern 9, where they make D-list Thai stars do stupid things on stage to compete for $10 million baht ($287,000 USD). X got booted off on Week 4 and Jik is still on the show. It’s like “Dancing with the stars” but the sleazy version.

Jik Naowarat has a penchant for young, muscular, possibly gay and “X” as a nickname men. Her last boyfriend or “close friend” was “X” Piya Wimuktayon, the guy villain in many lakorns.

Namtarn Mai (Burnt Sugar) Opening ceremony

Wow, another lakorn to look forward to. “Namtarn Mai (Burnt Sugar)” starring Aum Atichart and Aff Taksaorn had its opening ceremony today and I feel like I was the last person to know. I’m losing my swagger, I need to keep up.

In the lakorn, Aum and Aff play obstacle bound lovers. Aff plays a married woman, who finds out that her husband( played by Ta Warit) is a gay man. She leaves him because the act of staying in a loveless marriage seems unbearable. She works for Aum and they secretly have an affair. Then, Ploy Cherman comes into the picture and disrupts their romance. Ploy tricks Aum into marrying her and Aff with a broken heart leaves Thailand while pregnant with Aum’s child. Aff’s friend knows the truth about the pregnancy and helps the couple reunite.

Aum and Aff have become close friends after doing two lakorns together. I’ve noticed they are very at ease around each other, she always cracks a smile around him and he to her. It’s like they have told each other an inside joke when no one is around and when others come along they are trying to hold back laugher so they just smile.

“This is a lakorn about love, complicated love, love that isn’t right. Though we try to stop and do what’s right, the love lingers and we can’t stop, “ Aum explains the plot to the press.

Note: I love the fashion sense in this lakorn. Very sophisticated.

Ploy tells the press, she plays a two-faced woman, on the outside the woman gives off the impressive of purity and kindness but really she is EVIL. Just evil, I tell ya.

My goodness, another closeted gay/ married to woman role for Ta Warit. The guy holding the mic plays a man who isn’t gay but still starts a relationship with Ta because Ta is wealthy. You could say he is a money boy (gay prostitute).

This lakorn is a remake of Ah-Too’s lakorn from decades ago. The guy holding the mic is reprising Bird Thongchai’s role from the original version.

To see more pictures check out Sarnworld “Namtarn Mai” thread. Thanks to Wishbone and Loveaff for posting. Pictures can also be seen here. And of course at Aff’s fanclub.
