Gr! Does anyone think that Ah-Joo is overly catering to his brothers and father? The guy is too freaking nice and most of the time I just want to smack him over the head with my flip flops. I’m not saying he should be disrespectful, I’m just saying he needs to stand his ground.
If you saw the prison scene today, you would have been annoyed too. Ah-Joo was being overly nice to his older brother Ah-Jiw, who found himself in the slammer for unpaid debts relating to gambling. Ah-Joo brought him food and even offered to lend him money. And this is what Ah-Joo had to say, “I’m in prison, I can’t use money in here.” He then asked Ah-Joo for a favor and told him, “hurry up and go… even the sight of you makes my stomach sick and you better not look at the letter I gave you.”
Dude, what the hell, Ah-Jiw is such an ungrateful son-of-bitch. Seriously, instead of being nice, Ah-Joo should have cussed him out or give him a good lecture. Ah-Jiw needs to learn his place, he’s in the slammer for being stupid for golly sakes.
Ah-Jiw needs money to pay off his debt, he advises his father Ah-Cheng (his father) to sell the “Steamed Chicken” restaurant.

Wanting to help his son out, Ah-Cheng takes the property deed out and ponders about selling it.
He doesn’t want to but he loves his son. His wife is not for it.
Ah-La seeks comfort from her Ah-Yong and Ah-Nan over her divorce.

During rehearsal, Ah-Nan teases Ah-Yong about liking Ah-Joo.

Debt unpaid, Ah-Jiw finds himself in the slammer.
With Ah-Pong, his mother wants him to reconsider leaving, she thinks he is being too hard on himself.
His father interrupts their tender moment and scolds Ah-Pong.

His mother consoles after the scolding.

Ah-Cheng makes a visit to see Ah-Jo, his eldest son for help with Ah-Jiw.
Ah-Jo’s wife is not to happy to see her father-in-law and Ah-Joo is embarrassed.
Ah-Jo refuses to help with the Ah-Jiw situation and tells his father, it’s better to cut a bad limp off then keep it.
He later hurts his father’s feelings by telling him to never visit his house again.
Ah-Jo:”Father, can you consider my feelings. My wife doesn’t like you here. I have risen up from nothing and gotten this far, please don’t ruin this for me. ”
Ah-Jo even gives his father chump change to help him on his way. “Take this, please don’t ever come back again.”
Clap, Clap, I think we have a winer for the the worst son of the year award. And the winner is……………..AH-JO!!!

Ah-Cheng is hurt by the gesture and gives the money to Ah-Jo’s servant lady.
Ah-Cheng makes a visit to see his second born, Ah-Jin in prison.
Ah-Cheng painstakingly tells his son that he doesn’t have the money to get him out.
Ah-Jiw’s response:”Why is my life like this? Why can’t you do this for me father? If only I was a rich man son, this wouldn’t have happened to me. You don’t even have anything. My life is consumed with misfortune.”
Clap, Clap, I think we have another winner for the worst son of the year award, it’s Ah-Jiw: the selfish/ungrateful son.
Seriously, can his comment be anymore selfish. Someone needs a good smack in the head with a metal fly swatter.

Ah-Cheng asked his wife, “Was I not a good enough father, why are they (Ah-Jo and Ah-Jiw) turned out like this?”
Umm…..you don’t know the answer? He spoiled those two little b*tches and let them run amuk.
Ah-Joo gives his mother the land deed to the river house.
Mama is proud of her son.
Bowing to his dad for some reason, I don’t remember why.

Ah-Joo makes a visit to see his brother Ah-Jiw in prison. He gives him food and offered to give him money. Ah-Jiw asked Ah-Joo for a favor, to pass a letter to Ah-Joo’s wife.

Ah-Joo does what is asked of him without hesitation and delivers the letter to Ah-Jo’s wife.
What the does the letter say, probably something like this: “Can I borrow some money, oh my the way your husband (my brother) is cheating on you with some floozy.”

Pissed that her husband is cheating on her, she shoots him and have a her cronies rape and beat up his mistress.
Sucks to be Ah-Jo at this moment.

Ah-Cheng exclaims he wants to kill the person who shot his son.
Everyone tells him to be rational and let the police handle it. Also, it could have been Ah-Jo’s fault for the shooting. When he hears that, he pushes everyone away.
“Get out of here, I don’t want to hear you talking about Ah-Jo that way, don’t you know your own family member?”
This really doesn’t make sense, Ah-Jo becomes a paraplegic. 50 cent got shot 9 times in the back and he fine. Ah-Jo got shot once and he is handicapped for life.
Ah-Jo learns the truth about his condition. “Mom, Dad, what’s wrong with me, why can’t I move my leg and arm??”
Rehearsal.
Everyone is pleased with Ah-Nan and Ah-Joo’s performance and Ah-Yong is annoyed and gives him a fake clap anyways. She is so stubborn.
Depressed about his son’s situation and feeling like he is not a good father, Ah-Cheng doesn’t come home.

Everyone is worried and goes looking for him.
Everyone is worried and Ah-Joo hugs his mother to console her.
Ah-Cheng is fine, he even makes his way to the theater to watch his son’s opera performance.
Ah-Cheng watches Ah-Joo’s performance with fatherly pride.
At the end of the episode, everyone is happy with the success of the opera except Ah-Joo, he is too worried about his father.

OMG only one more episode’s left! I’m too excited

P.S. I have this feeling that Ahla’s husband will come back !
Dejang31, yea. LOL.
no excuses, I really thought I spelled slammer. Oh well, thanks for the grammar check.
Am I the only one that thinks Ah Peng is such a selfish bastard! He’d chose his lover over his wife and kid. How unresponsible and selfish.
Seems intersting….crappy behind sons….i can’t believe the dad still looks kindly on his oldest son after the son gave him money and told him never to go see him at his house again….that man just doesn’t seem to want to see how awful his son is….BTW Lyn….isn’t the slang for lockup suppose to be “slammer” instead of “stammer”….
ep12 is good and Joo’s father is so pity
I cry repeatedly
How ironic, one son is in jail, and another is in the hospital paralyzing (handicap). Ah-Chang sure have bad luck on sons.
“This really doesn’t make sense, Ah-Jo becomes a paraplegic. 50 cent got shot 9 times in the back and he fine. Ah-Jo got shotonce and he is handicapped for life.”
Lol, Lyn. I think it’s more like the angle of the shot and the nerves it ended up hitting. 50 Cent was really lucky he didnt end up paralysed or something. Or maybe they’re trying to say Ah-Jo’s wife is some master shot who can aim and hit the exact nerve to make him a paraplegic! =D
**clap clap clap** in Ah-Joo’s fathers face!! oh see how happy I am now.. eehhee.. well i am sitll mad that after all that he still loves both his stupid sons so much. oka a fathers love is deep, but dude, look what they had said and done to you old man!! well atleast he has seen Ah-Joo in a better light now… I can’t wait to watch it.. So i am assuming next monday’s episode would be teh last??
I cant wait to watch it for myself and write my review on what I think. ahahhaa.
Can’t hardly wait for the ending next weeks. It is going to be great. I feel so sorry for Ah-La that her husband left her to be with the gay lover in America. How selfish of him.
