Gaew Lom Phet: Ep 35 End!

It finally ends! Thank you! It was a mediocre ending to a mediocre series. I don’t plan to watch this series ever again, maybe the first half, but definitely not the second half.

I remember reading somewhere that Yuk had a difficult time remembering his lines; this one time it took him 20 tries to accurately complete a scene. He blamed it on nerves and gradually he got better with experience, he told reporters. We rarely saw Yuk with dialog, did he really get better? I’m beginning to think not and that is why they focused more on Aerin, the more capable one.

We had 5 newcomers in this series: Vill, Ton, Yuk, Aerin, and New. If I was to list them in the order of my preference, I would rate Ton as my top actor; he was likable and natural compared to his co-stars who were either robotic or lack emotion in their acting.

People who were good and need to tweak their craft a little would have to be Aerin, Vill, and New. I do give praises for their acting as beginners. They just need to adjust a few things and they will be fine. Like Ton, they will make it in this industry.

As for Yuk, he’s just yucky. At the beginning I was willing to over look his lack of acting skills and robotic tendencies but as the series progressed, it became unbearable. Homeboy should just stick to modeling and racy photoshoots because lakorns or film is no place for a stiff guy like Yuk. Acting is about expressing your emotions and letting your guard down, Yuk doesn’t have that talent. He’s holding back, constantly being conscious of himself. If he wants to pursue acting, he needs to improve greatly and learn how to “relax don’t do it,when you want to go to it” . It was torturous to listen to him deliver his lines. It took him forever. Long Pause, and then he delivers his lines in the most uncomfortable matter. Dude chill, it’s just acting. No one is gonna die if you make a mistake.

I can’t say I blame the actors for the failure of this series, I would have to blame the crazy story. The second half just went bongers and heading to the direction I did not like, which was more focus on Gaew Gao.

I’m glad it ended and hopefully Aom and Nok Sinjai’s lakorn “Artit Ching Duang” will meet my expectations. Cross fingers!

Gaew Gao and Namphet are in the abandon warehouse. Namphet is blocked by several stacks of crates , she leans against it as Gaew Gao slowly approaches her, pointing the gun at her face.

Gaew shouts at Namphet:“If you didn’t exist, no one would hinder my life.”

Namphet fights back with, “But you did this yourself.”

Furiously, Gaew Gao runs up to Namphet, pulls her up by the hair and explains:“No, I was fine, it’s you and Pikgoon who has endangered my life. You are trying to steal everything from my life.”

Namphet:“But it’s not yours, even if you kill me, you can never get it back. There is just no way.”

Gaew Gao selfishly:”If I can’t have it, then you can’t have it either.”

Gaew Gao pulls Namphet up and tossed her across the floor. She is about to shoot Namphet, luckily, Pikgoon arrives. Gaew Gao holds Namphet hostage and Pikgoon orders Gaew Gao to stop. She tries to reason with her:
“My child, you are misunderstanding, if you kill Namphet, you are eroding everything. If you let Namphet go, you will get your life back. Khun Lada loves you and have raise you since you were a little. She will not be able to cut you off. If you kill Namphet, her biological daughter, she won’t be able to handle it.”

Gaew Gao doesn’t believe Pikgoon and told her to shut up.

Pikgoon continues to negotiate with Gaew:

“Khun Lada has promised me she will not press charges on you and continue to love you and take you as her daughter like always.”

Gaew Gao doesn’t believe her and continues to point the gun at Pikgoon and hold Namphet hostage.

Pikgoon holds the phone up and begs Khun Lada on the other line to accept the terms she had just outlined.

“Khun Poo Ying, please tell Gaew Gao, you will love her and take her back to live at the house like before.”

In the police car, Khun Lada nods up and down and told Pikgoon she agrees via the phone.

Pikgoon tosses the phone over to Gaew Gao.

Khun Lada:“My child ,please don’t hurt Namphet, please don’t go too far, I’m very concern about you.”

Gaew doesn’t believe her and asked, “are you concern about me or Namphet, your real daughter.”

Khun Lada continues to plead with Gaew:“Why are you saying that, you are my child, I have raised you since you were born, since you were little, why wouldn’t I be concern about you? You listen to me carefully, let Namphet go, and I promise to love you like always.”

Still, Gaew does not believe her and explained,

“Once I let Namphet go, you will not love me like before because I’m not your real child. Why would you love me?”

Khun Lada:That is not important, even if we are not blood related, you are still mother and daughter. Our relationship is more important than that, regardless, I still love you. Please believe me.”

Gaew:“But I have harmed grandmother, how will she forgive me?”

Khun Lada:“Don’t worry about that, I will handle it, I will beg and bow down to grandmother to encourage her to forgive you. Please, please, let Namphet go and everything will return back to normal. Do you hear me?”

Gaew innocently for the first time:“Really, mom?”

Khun Lada assures her again:“I love you severely, why would I lie to you?”

Again, Gaew wants more assurance and asked Khun Lada to promise again that everything will be the same as before.

Gaew Gao stands up and hovers over Namphet. She lowers her guard and cries. She turns away from Namphet. Pikgoon signals Namphet to slowly back away.

Almost reaching Pikgoon, Gaew Gao is alerted by the sound of sirens and quickly takes Namphet hostage again. Win, Nop, and the cops have arrive to the scene.

On the phone, Gaew Gao frantically repeats:“Mom, you lied to me! You have ordered the police to arrest me. I will never believe you again!”

She tossed the phone across the room and orders Pikgoon to back off.

“You deceived me, no one loves me and you only care about her.” She shouts at Pikgoon.

Gaew Gao pushes Namphet to the ground and points the gun at her, preparing to shoot her. Pikgoon tries to take the gun away from her. They tussle together. Accidentally, Gaew Gao pulls the trigger and Namphet is shot in the knee.

She screams in agony, Pikgoon runs to her.

Gaew Gao, not pitying Namphet’s pain, hovers over her.

“What of it, either way today, you will die.” She proclaims.

Pikgoon blocks Namphet and Gaew Gao furiously orders Pikgoon to move aside.

Pikgoon stands her ground and declares:“I said NO. Do you not hear me, I said no. If you want to kill Namphet, you have to kill me first.”

Gaew Gao, not knowing what to do, swings back and forth, trying to weigh her options.

Gaew Gao steps back and points the gun at Pikgoon and states, “Fine!”

Though it appeared like she has made her decision to shoot Pikgoon, Gaew Gao hesitates. Her index finger flicker back and forth at the trigger.

Her attention is disrupted by the presence of Win and Chanop, she turns to them.

Win tries to plead with her: “Gaew, just drop the gun, don’t do anything crazy.”

Gaew shouts back at him:”P’Win you leave, don’t interfere.”

Win:“Gaew, you can’t kill Pikgoon, she is your real mother.”

Gaew:“What about it? Do you think I don’t dare.”

Surprisingly, Pikgoon tells Gaew:”If you dare, then do it. Either way, I will not let you shoot Namphet.”

Gaew Gao:”So you love her very much that is why you are willing to risk you life for her.”

Pikgoon stands up and declares to Gaew,

“Yes, I’m willing to die for her. And, it’s not because I love her more than my own flesh and blood. I just can’t bare to see my own child kill another person again. Please make me the last person.”

Gaew:“Don’t threaten me.”

Win tries to intervene and Pikgoon orders him to not interfere.

Pikgoon walks up to Gaew and Gaew slowly backs away.

Pikgoon:“Gaew Gao, I was wrong to let others raise you, I was afraid you were going to die. Though my intentions were good, I shouldn’t have used this method. The method that is selfish and evil. I have created an environment that was a lie and false for you. If you are going to blame anyone, blame me. Please.”

Gaew Gao lets out a cry and asked, ‘Please don’t challenge me.”

Pikgoon:“I’m not challenging you. I’m speaking the truth.”

Annoyed, Gaew Gao comes out with:”I have never accepted you as my mother, actually I hate you passionately.”

“I know, I know you hate me. Nonetheless, you are my child and I love you. If I die and it can help you ease your pain, I will regret my life.”Pikgoon replies.

Pikgoon walks up to Gaew Gao and orders her to shoot.

“Shoot me, my spirit will not haunt you. I ask for one thing for you to stop doing evil things and reform to be a good person. That would be enough.”

Pikgoon takes hold of Gaew Gao hands and pulls the gun to her heart.

In the background, Namphet repeats:“Mom, don’t do it.”

Frustrated, Gaew Gao pushes Pikgoon away and has a tantrum.

“Why, Why must you be this good. Why must you be this good. Why?”

Gaew collapse to the floor and Pikgoon goes down to her.

Pikgoon takes hold of her face and tells her: “Because I love you, my daughter.”

She hugs her and they cry together.

Pikgoon:”Please drop the gun, please.”

As Pikgoon is pealing Gaew’s fingers off the gun, the cops arrive with Gaan and Khun Lada.

Bad timing because it stirred up Gaew’s rage again. She takes Pikgoon as hostage.

Gaew orders everyone to leave and they head up the staircase.

Khun Lada tries to reason with Gaew to surrender. Gaew refuses. She fires several shoots up in the air. Again, Pikgoon tries to snatch the gun away from her. They tussle together and Gaew Gao pushes Pikgoon down.

She points the gun at the police and they fire at her. Luckily for Gaew, Pikgoon runs up to her and receives the gunshot wound to the back.

Stupidly, Namphet screams:“MOM!”

Pikgoon leans on Gaew for support, they slowly fall down together.

Pikgon:“My precious daughter, are you okay?”

Gaew Gao sees the blood and screams, “How can you do this? I hate you. I’ve hurt you countless time, why are you risking your life for me?”

Pikgoon takes hold of Gaew Gao face. ‘Because you are my child” she proclaims once more.”

Finally, Gaew Gao accepts Pikgoon as her mother and hugs her. She whimpers: “Mom, my dear mother.”

Pikgoon tries to take the gun again.

From afar, Khun Lada tells Gaew:

“Gaew, I promise we will not abandon you. We will help you regarding everything. I still love you like before, my child.”

Gaew innocently and sorrowfully:“Mom, you’re so good to me! Every moment, since I was little, you loved me. You supported me, you taught me to be good. But I didn’t listen. I have to apologize to you.”

Khun Lada:“No, you don’t have to apologize to me. If you can remember that, I’m happy.”

Khun Lada is about to run to Gaew, but the stupid police officer holds her back.

“Just surrender.” He ordered Gaew.

Gaew looks at Pikgoon and told her:

“Though you did not raise me, you still supported me. You were willing to do wrong to save my life. You have done everything for me and I never noticed you. I’m the worst daughter ever. Please forgive me, mom!”

Gaew gives Pikgoon a wai to ask for forgiveness.

Pikgoon:“We will surrender together.”

Gaew:“I know myself well, my sins are too great . In this life or the next, I don’t think my sins are redeemable.”

Gaew looks at Pikgoon:

“Mom, if the next life exist, I want to be born as your child again.”

Pikgoon and Khun Lada twitched a little, they were all confuse by that statement.

“I want to repay you back in the next life.” Gaew continued.

Gaew takes the gun from Pikgoon’s hand and Bam! She shot herself in the neck.

Somehow, she flops over and falls over the platform. Everyone screams in grievance.

Khun Lada runs to her.

“Why have you done this.” She asked.

After her 100 day passing, Gaew Gao is cremated.

At her tomb, the grandmother informs Gaew that all is forgiven, they have all forgiven her.

Khun Lada:In the next life, I hope you will not have to encounter this hardship again.”

Nop places a white rose for Gaew and bids his last farewell to her.

After the 100 day ceremony, Win and Namphet are engaged.

It was so retarded at the engagement ceremony, servant Sai and Meow snickered in the background, they narrated each ceremonial step.

Meow giggling:“Oh he is holding her hand.”

Really Sherlock! I didn’t notice.

Khun Lada:”I’m so happy to be reunited with you but now I’m giving you away to someone else (she looks over at Win’s mom).”

Khun Lada looks at Win and asked him to take good care of Namphet.

Win promises to care and watch over Namphet for the rest of his life.

Gaan turns to Namphet and congratulates her.

“Namphet, I’m so happy to know you are my sister. We are relatives, that is why I felt a lot of love for you because you are my biological sister.”

Don’t worry, Gaan will not die, he is going aboard to get treatment and surgery. He vows to make it for Win and Namphet’s wedding.

Outside after their engagement ceremony, surpises Namphet with a back hug and a kiss on the cheek. She scolds him.

“Let go of me, people might see.”

He stares at her and smiles.

“Or else, I will scream for my mother.” She warns him.

Win:”Fine, I can release you. But you have to tell me why you are here staring at your baby anklet.”

Namphet:“I was thinking about mother Pikgoon, I wanted her to be here with me today.”

Since Pikgoon can’t make it to their engagement, they decide to visit her at the temple. To repay for her sins, Pikgoon has entered the nun hood for the rest of her life. Not only is it for her, but it is also to repay for Gaew Gao’s sins.

Dude! Seriously, that is some crazy balding cap thing. She looked like one of the Coneheads.

Conclusion voice over:”Pikgoon knows too well that the evil Gaew Gao had committed can never be repaid. Regardless, this is something that she can do for her daughter. Not until today, Pikgoon realized that though her daughter is no longer alive, the love of a mother to her child still exists. It will never disappear, not until her last breath of the parent.”
