Noon Siraphun’s boyfriend ordained

Noon Siraphun’s boyfriend “Top” Piphat Apiraktanakorn was ordained today at the Bowonniwet Vihara temple. He was given the nickname “Jinwutigoh”, meaning a person who will be prosperous for life.

Top will be temporarily ordained for 15 days.

For the people who might not understand this practice, temporary ordination is a religious rite of passage for males who practice Theravāda Buddhism, the dominate religion in Southeast Asia. Before a man marries, he must enter the monastery temporarily. It’s a form of self-sacrificing to pay homage (merits) to the people who give you life and raised you.

Noon carried the pillow in the parade and even participated in the hair cutting ceremony. Top’s mother was so happy, she couldn’t hold back tears. This is a very important religious event and also a very festive one. It’s really a big celebration of the bond between a son to his parents.

I gotta say Top has a good head shape, it’s nice and round like an egg.
