Buang Ruk Kammathep: Ep. 1 Caps

Watch it at Youtube

I believe I’ve found a lakorn I can commit to. Finally!

I do love the first episode of “Buang Ruk Kammathep” though the lakorn is very flawed, the encounters between Pong and Bee, just too hilarious.

Neena the nang’rai and her mother Neuanuan ventures to Oranee’s clothing shop and starts trashing the place.

I have to ask, do people like Neena and Neuanuan exist? I’ve never hung out with the bad crowd, I don’t have violent tendencies or the compelling need to destroy another person’s property because they are my love rival. I don’t know any adult who would do what they did. I know this is an Exact production, a company that loves to be overly dramatic with their lakorns; however, I felt it was too much. No sane person, a member of decent society would do this. It doesn’t make sense, it was going way overboard.

As they are trashing the place (ripping clothes, pulling yarn rolls out of shelves, throwing picture frames to the floor, cutting up dresses), Oranee comes out with a bewildered face. She doesn’t know who these people are, she walks over to Neuanuan first and begs, “we can come to an agreement, please stop. “

Neuanuan pushes her to Neena, again, she begs for them to stop. As Neena is ripping one of her dresses, Oranee asked, “how will I make my earnings?”

Neena takes hold of Oranee and violently replies, “That’s your problem”.

Oranee is then pushed to the ground and her heads hit a wooden “X” sign fixture placed in the middle of the shop. As she turns to face her attacker, she touches her head, it’s bleeding. She gasp in shock!

The strangest thing ever… Neuanuan, though seeing that Oranee is injured, shouts out, “You pretender!” She then turns violent, she slowly approaches Oranee with her purse, Neena follows and they prepare to strike Oranee. Luckily for Oranee, her sister Oranicha and her father arrive just in the nick of time.

Why are these women here? They are here to give Oranee a warning. She needs to know who is high and who is low and to keep away from Prawat because it’s NEENA’s man. Well not really, Neena just wants him and he barely takes notices of her.

Neena:”A man like Khun Prawat is not a man for people like you to trap so easily. An impoverish woman like you is too beneath him. You should know that!”

Neuanuan:“Today, I only came here to give you a lesson. If next time you don’t listen, you will get it worst than now.”

I know…these people are freaking crazy!

They heed their warning and left the shop. Oranicha was so pissed off, her father Uthai had to hold her back. She seriously wanted to give Neena and Neuanuan a can of ass whooping for what they did and said.

As Neena and Neuanuan are walking out of the shop, Prawat pulls in. Before he goes in, he gets the feeling that someone is watching him. Really it’s Neena and Neuanuan behind a fence spying on him. As he inches closer, they run off. Instantly, he knew something happened.

He walks in and the whole place is trashed, he looks for Oranee. She is hiding behind a wall, not wanting to face him. She cries and he runs to her. He wants to know what happened, but Oranee refuses to tell him and urged him to leave.

“These are my problems and I can fix them,” she told him and slightly pushed him away. Prawat is a little confuse, he doesn’t understand why the woman he loves is chasing him away.

Oranee explains herself:“I grateful for all the help that you have given me, but I think we should stop seeing each other. As for the store that you have brought for me, I will quickly pay you back.”

She tries to walk away, he takes hold of her arm and exclaims: “NO, I will never accept your money. Regardless, I will never leave you!”

Oranee tries to reason with him, “I think we have been avoiding the truth long enough, I think it’s time for us to accept it.”

“The only truth that I can accept is that I love you, “ Prawat proclaims. He repeats “I love you” three times.

“I will love you forever.” He adds. All teary eyed, they look each other and Prawat pulls Oranee for a hug.

Oranicha and her father watch them from afar in pity.

Prawat does a classic look up and face the camera moment and whispers, “Khun Mae (meaning “MOTHER”).” I love how they zoomed at his face when he said it. It’s such a classic lakorn camera technique. It’s so OVERLY dramatic and funny.

As his mother Sumon is enjoying a good pedicure from her servants, Prawat barges in, dragging Neena and Neuanuan along. “I don’t know nothing of this,” the two women kept repeating.

He pushes them to the ground and his father is a little baffled by the scene.

Prawat tells him that his mother sent these two women to harm Oranee, his girlfriend.

His mother looks sheepishly down and denies the charges against her, which angers Prawat even more.

Prawat:“Mom, you don’t need to lie. I’ve known all along that you sent these two women to investigate my relationship with Oranee, the person I love. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t think they would harm her like this (he looks back at them).”

His mother becomes annoyed and yells at him back, ‘Every word you say is love, love, love. A random woman from the streets like her, what’s so great about her? Not only is she older than you, she is OLDER than you, her educational background is low, and she is poor. She has no abilities.”

Neuanuan from the side chimes in, “Also, she is a widower!”

Neena nods in agreeance with her mother.

Prawat flashes back at them and said, “SHUT UP! Outsiders are not allow to interfere.” HAHA. —oh I laughed so hard!

Because of that, he gets as scolding from his mother for insulting her friends.

“Hey Prawat, everything they have done was done out of good intentions. Also, what she said is the truth! You need to take that into consideration. You can’t be deaf and blind and fall for that widower to the point where you can’t think.”

“I’m not disillusioned by her, I love NEE. Do you hear me mom? I love her.” Prawat shouts back at his mother.

Sumon turns to the side and tries to avoid listening to her son’s love proclaimation to a woman she disapproves.

This action doesn’t deter Prawat, he continues to profess his love for Oranee.

“Mom, you have to listen. I don’t care if Nee doesn’t have money, has no abilities, or previously had a husband, I only care about one thing, she is a good person and the person I want to spend my life with. I have no plans to break up with Nee. If you intend to continue to try and separate us or order those two (Points to Neena and her mother) to harass Nee again….Me…I will take Oranee far away…to a place where you can never find us.”

After his speech, he gives his mother a good glare and walks out.

His father who is still baffled by this whole incident gives his wife a warning:“I don’t know what is going on here, but if my son packs up and leaves this house, I will leave too!!”

He then throws his newspaper to the floor. I like the dad, he’s a pretty reasonable guy.

After the argument with his mother, Prawat makes a second visit to Nee’s shop. Nee sees him from the window and quickly runs to the door to close it. Prawat stops her in time.

“I’m sorry, Are you still angry with me?” He asked.

Nervously Oranee tells him, he doesn’t need to apologize because he has done nothing wrong.

“I just don’t want to cause you anymore problems.” She tells him.

She urges him to go back home and tries to close the door again. He struggles with her to keep the door open.

“There is no way I’m leaving. You can never chase me away, I will never leave you.” Prawat professes.

Oranee tries to reason with him again:“I think if we continue this relationship, it will just be pointless. Our love can never be, we are too different. “

Again, she tries to close the door. He is able to keep it open and takes her hand.

“You don’t need to worry, if it is impossible, I refuse to give up. True, today my mother doesn’t understand our love, but one day NEE, one day, I can make her accept you.”

Oranee falls silent, she is moved by his determination. Deep down, she wants this to work. She loves him.

Seeing that she has let her guard down, Prawat takes the opportunity to hug her.

Oranee hugs him back and lets out a tear. Awww.

Back at the house, Prawat’s mother Sumon complains to Neena and Neuanuan that she can’t believe her son Prawat talked back to her over a woman. Until now, he has never argued with her. Neena and Neuanuan adds to her rage and misunderstanding by lying that Oranee trashed the shop and blamed it on them. According to Neena, Oranee didn’t want to have polite conversation with them and even yelled at them.

Sumon believes them and thinks that Oranee is a manipulative woman. Because they can’t do anything to stop Prawat from dating Oranee, Sumon has a plan. She is going to recruit someone to whom Prawat loves and listens to….his older brother Prupadee from America.

Sumon makes the call and summons her eldest son back to Thailand. She takes him to Oranee’s clothing shop to scout the place out. In the car, his mother tells him the whole story about Oranee and Prawat and how Oranee is the wrong person for her son. The shop that Oranee owns was actually given to her by Prawat, she complains.

“Don’t worry mom, I only have one brother, the person who will be my sister-in-law will be the most suitable person. If not, they don’t have the right.” Prupadee assured his mother.

As they are driving away, Oranicha comes out with the trash. Prupadee rolls his window down to check her out, thinking she is Oranee.

He is instantly attracted to her. He was seriously having a staring problem moment. HAHA.

When Prawat arrives home, he rushes to find his older brother. Prawat is excited to see his brother, Prupadee not so much.

At the dinner table, his father asked Prupadee why he has returned and for how long.

Coldly Prupadee replied, “I came back to handle a little matter, once I’m done, I will go back.”

“What kind of matter?” Prawat asked.

Prupadee looks over at Prawat sternly and answered, ‘A personal matter.”

Thinking that it might be a girl issue, Prawat jokes…“a personal matter, I know..you are secretly hiding a woman here?” He looks over to his mother and adds, “mom, our brother is truly something.”

Disrupting the cheerful mood, Prupadee sternly denies the joke,

“A person like me doesn’t like to do things in secrets, especially regarding something important like that. A person who is going to be my woman must get the approval from everyone in this household first. She must be from a good background and not just from anywhere. She will not ruin our family’s good name.”

After the statement, their mother smirks and Prupadee takes a slip of his water.

Prawat in a state of shock, looks left and right at each person at the dinner table. His cheerful mood completely turns sour.

Meanwhile at Oranee’s house, they have just completed dinner and are washing up the dishes. Oranicha nags to her sister to act and tell Prawat what really happened. Once he knows, he can take care of the matter.

My favorite line would have to be…

“Pee, stop acting like a weak nang’ek from a lakorn. If you continue to let them push you around, they will never stop harassing you.”

—So True!

If Oranee is not going to tell, she is going to do it herself. Oranee pulls her back and begs her to not say anything. She doesn’t want the problem to escalate even more.

Oranicha:“I can’t take this anymore. Whoever hurts you, they will hurt a hundred times, a thousand times more.”

That night, Prupadee and Prawat argue about Oranee. Simply Prupadee wants his younger brother to end his relationship with Oranee. He doesn’t know her but he has seen her and just seeing is enough.

Prawat is perplexed that his brother saw Oranee, Prupadee tells him that their mother took him to the clothing shop that Oranee owns.

Prawat is hurt that his brother is not siding with him regarding this issue, he feels betrayed. In the past, he felt his brother understood them regarding every issue. Prawat shakes with disbelief and shouts out, ‘You never understood me, you’re just like mom, a person who judges others by their outer appearances. If you hate Nee and don’t want her to be a part of your family, I will gladly leave this house, in order for you to feel clean and not dirty.”

Prawat starts walking away and Prupadee pulls him back.

Prupadee:“Wat? Do you know what you are saying because of a woman? Why are you like this?”

Prawat:“If you find the person you love…the person to whom you love her with all your heart. You will understand…why I am doing this…you will understand….why I am like this.”

Prawat leaves and Prupadee snuffs and said, ‘To love with all your heart? There is just no way!!”

The next day, Prawat gives Nee a call to discuss the Prupadee issue. He will introduce Prupadee to her soon and they will make him understand their relationship.

Prupadee drops by the shop when Oranee is not there, he is greeted by Oranicha. She is instantly attracted to him but when he starts eying her down, she becomes defensive. Prupadee came to make a deal with Oranee and thinks that Oranicha is her.

At first she is little confuse, but plays along anyways. He offers her 1 million baht (27,839USD) to end her relationship with Prawat, she refuses. She complains that the houses around here are 1 million baht, if she was his sister-in-law she would get more anyways. Then, he asked how much would she like.

Oranicha gives him an unreasonable demand.
1. $780,500,200.00 (21,725,824.73USD)–I think that is what she said
2. His family’s heirlooms
3. his house
4. his cars
5. 12 workers
6. Be the chairman of his company

She kept adding to her list, he told her to stop and asked if she was insane.

Oranicha smirked and said, “if you can give this to me, then you can leave and don’t ever come here again!”

She showed him the door. He refused to leave and she takes a white stick to threaten him.

He laughed at the sight of the stick, he didn’t think she was going to hit him. When he got hit, he was stunned.

Oranicha started beating him with the stick, she stopped when her sister arrived. Finally Prupadee learns the truth, he got the wrong person. He was talking to Oranicha not Oranee. He makes the same offer to the real Oranee, she refuses.

As he is leaving, Oranicha tells him, ‘you don’t have a heart.”

He turns around and gives her a crushed looked. I thought that was the best line ever, he likes her and to hear that she thinks ill of him just deeply hurts him. And probably in Prupadee’s mind he is doing the right thing for for this brother. In his mind, he has a heart because he has good intentions for his brother.

Again, Oranicha complains to her sister to tell Prawat what happened. Oranee doesn’t want to and begs Oranicha not to either. She doesn’t want Prawat and his brother to argue. However, Oranicha doesn’t listen and sets up a lunch date with Prawat to tell him exactly what happened. I though it was pretty funny how she stopped herself before calling Prupadee a name.

When Prawat leaves the restaurant angry, she does a little cheer to herself.

Oranicha-“Yes, Yes, he is gonna get it now.” She is preferring to Prupadee.

Prawat goes home and confronts his older brother. He complains that he can’t trust anyone in this house anymore. He can’t handle everyone’s interference in his life, he decides to leave.

Prawat:“From this point on, I will only do what I want without caring what people desire of me.”

He pulls all his credit cards out and even throws away his car keys on the bed.

Prupadee and his mother tries to stop him. As Prawat is leaving, he sees his father. He gives him a respectful wai and leaves. His father is again baffled.

When the pink taxi with Prawat inside drives off, his father asked:“Prupadee, where is Wat going?”

Prupadee looks back at his father, unsure how to answer and the episode ends.
