I had little visitors. My baby cousins who are 3 and 9 months came to visit. So cute. Kids are too cute. My cousin Ricky who is 3 is afraid of ghosts. I asked him if he wanted to go outside. In Lao, he said: “Ball Na, mee Pee. (No, there are ghosts)”. I was little baffled by his answer. I asked, “Pee yu sai? (where are they?)”.

He answered, “Pee yu nok (The ghosts are outside)”. I started laughing. Apparently my aunt likes to tell him there are ghosts around when he is being bad. To calm himself down, he said, “Maun bin bai laeo (it flew away).”

Then he started talking in Vietnamese, which I didn’t understand. The kid is Lao/Vietnamese, he randomly mixes fobbish English/Lao/Vietnamese together. I don’t think he knows the difference. Half of the time, I don’t understand him. He screams a lot too.

When he was about to leave, I teased him by telling him I saw a ghost outside. He freaked out and started crying. HAHA. Good times.

I think I like his sister better, she rarely cries and when I kiss her cheeks, she chuckles. She’s a fat baby too–so many fat rolls, like the Michelin tire baby.

The unconscious Uthai is rushed to the hospital, we learn he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. Luckily, the blood vessel was able to repair itself, clot the area, and stop the bleeding. However, there is a high chance his blood vessel can burst again, without surgically intervention.

The surgery will cost a few million baht (27,000 USD +) and his personal care after the surgery will add to the cost.

Oranicha blames herself for bringing her father to a private hospital like this, if they went to a public/government hospital it would cost less, though the care will not be that great.

Oranicha and Oranee are worried, they don’t have the money for the surgery nor do they have the money for his treatment.

In the meantime, Gifgay will check with the other nurses to see if financial aid exists for patients.

A day later, as Oranee is coming to visit her father, Prupadee sees her. He follows her and learns that Uthai is being treated at the hospital.

He makes a call to learn more about the situation.

Gifgay tells Oranicha financial aid does exist, but only for 50%. She will get 500,000 baht ($14,111 USD), not enough to pay for the surgery and her father’s after care.

Knowing the situation is dire, Gifgay offers her life savings to help pay for the hospital bills.

Oranicha refuses.

Gifgay yells at her: “Just take it, stop being prideful. We’re friends, I really want to help you. Don’t make me persuade you for too long, it’s tiring. “

Moved by her friend’s offer, Oranicha gives Gifgay a gratitude hug.

The girls brainstorm for a solution, Gifgay suggest calling Prawat for money. Oranicha calls Prawat but hangs up, fearing she will be scolded by her sister for calling.

Prupadee makes a surprise visit to see Uthai while Oranee is preparing fruit. He knows Oranee and Oranicha do not have the money to pay for the hospital bills, he offers to pay for the whole thing. Also, he will throw in a few thousand dollars extra in case she wants to spend it on other things.

Predictably, there is a catch. She is must break up with Prawat.

Stupidly, Oranee doesn’t understand, they have a contract together.

Prupadee explains the contract was a way for him to separate Oranee and Prawat, it was never valid.

Finally Oranee understood his intentions and said, “so that means, no matter if I waited for him for the full year, we still can’t be together.”

Prupadee snuffs:“It doesn’t matter about the year, in this life, there is no way you will be together.”

In dismay, Oranee accidentally knocks down a plate on the wheeled table.

“I don’t know how much you love him, but what I do know is that myself, my mother, and my father love him the most. In this world, no one can take good care of him other than his family. Especially a woman like you can not take care of him. ” He continues. –Dude needs to take a chill pill.

Oranee cries and Prupadee gives her his business card. He will wait for her decision. I laughed when I read his business card, he spells his name “Phubordee”.

I guess from this point on, I’ll start spelling his name that way.

Just as he is leaving, Oranicha comes. They face each other.

Oranicha is a little annoyed and concerned that Phubordee visited her father. He tries to avoid her and she follows him, asking him why he visited her father.

He lies to her: “I came here to visit an acquittance.”

Oranicha doesn’t believe him.

“Liar!” She shouts at him.

“You are here to hassle us again. Though at this moment we do not have the money to pay for his treatment, I will find a way to pay it all myself.” She continued.

“Though I can’t stand your face, I don’t have any bad intentions for you.” He lies.

Oranee sees through it and shouts:“Don’t try to act like a good person, I don’t believe you.”

“This is your issue, I don’t want to know anything about it. You don’t need to tell me. As for my issue, I also don’t want to answer. In that case, don’t ask me.” He tells her.

Damn Phubordee and Oranicha scenes are always intense. I like that she challenges him.

Oranicha confronts her sister about Phubordee, Oranee lies that it was nothing.

Oranicha tells her sister she plans to call Prawat.

Displeased, Oranee yells at Oranicha:“If you call him, don’t you dare ever call me your sister again. Do you hear me?”

Oranee runs off and cries outside. DUDE, this woman is constantly crying, in every scene.

In New York, Prawat is still annoyed by Neena. At one point, he becomes so annoyed by her actions, he called her an “easy” woman.

“Do you ever think of anything else than trying to entice me.” He yells and asked her. HAHA. Also, she dresses way too sexy for his liking.

Neena denies the charges against her.

“I’m here to be your secretary, your secretary”. She repeats while putting her arms around his neck.

Annoyed, he kicks her out. She begs him not to. In his response, if she doesn’t leave before he gets back, he is going to call the cops on her. HAHA—I would have done the same. She is annoying.

Neena phones Phubordee to complain about the situation. He tells her to calm down and leave the place first. He will handle the situation later. She reluctantly agrees.

Oranicha runs in front of Phubordee’s car.

Annoyed, he gets out and asked, “Hey troublemaker, are you crazy, do you not fear death?”

Oranicha:“No, I’m not afraid. If I die, I die. My life has no meaning to you anyways.”

He tells her to move aside, but she refuses until he admits what he said to her sister.

He challenges her and asked, “Why didn’t you ask your sister yourself?”

“She won’t tell me.” Oranicha replied.

Phubordee laughs.

“Even your sister didn’t want to tell you, why do you I have to tell you then?” He asked.

“Because you were the one who started this mess and also you’re a man. If you are a decent man, then you will accept that you are currently doing something dirty.” She answered.

Hearing the word “Dirty”, Phubordee’s father interrupts them and simply asked, “Who is doing something dirty?”

Phubordee tries to brush it off and tells his father that Oranicha is just a random crazy person.

Oranicha defends herself and tells Phubordee’s father, Phubordee is the dirty person.

“He is trying to separate my sister from Khun Prawat”. She said confidently.

Phubordee’s father looks at him sternly and Phubordee gives his father an uncomfortable “I was wrong” face.

Oranee calls Phubordee a liar and starts telling his father about the contract and what he put out in the magazine (Pictures of Prawat and Neena together).

Not only is he hassling her sister, he is also hassling her at work by moving her to the morgue, she tells Phubordee’s father.

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask my supervisor.” She said.

Phubordee’s father waves his index finger from side to side and said:

“I have no idea what you two people are talking about, but I do want to apoloigze, it’s getting late. I want to rest. I think you should leave. Next time, don’t jump in front of other’s people’s car. Not only is rude, it’s very dangerous.”

Phubordee smirks with glee because Oranicha is getting scolded.

Phubordee’s father then addresses him:

“Phu, move her back to her old post. You’re an executive, to hassle a subordinate, it’s not appropriate.”

The smirk is wiped off his face. HAHA

Phu and Oranicha exchange a few fighting words before parting and Oranicha marches off.

Inside the house, Phubordee’s father gives his wife Sumon and Phubordee a warning:“Don’t make a small issue into a big one.”

He doesn’t want Phubordee’s action to ruin the family’s good name. He gives Phu a warning, don’t make the same mistake twice.

-Phubordee’s father is a very interesting character, I don’t know where he stands in regrads to Prawat and Oranee’s relationship. He seems like a reasonable guy, he won’t use dirty tactics to separate them, but I get the feeling he doesn’t approve of Prawat and Nee’s relationship. He is allowing Phubordee to continue with his schemes, he just wants him to be more “clean and discreet” about it.

Tawee makes a visit to see Oranee to give her a phone message from Prawat.

Prawat’s message:”Hello Nee, I miss you so much. Are you well? I’m doing fine. I’m a little tied over here, but I’m more concern about you. Is Phubordee still hassling you? If I was there, if I returned, I will not let my mother and my brother Phubordee hassle you. I will protect you. I will protect you myself. Please bear with it. I will try to be the best head of our family. We will have children together, I will work hard, make a lot of money, so that you won’t have to suffer like right now. You don’t need to worry, a year goes by fast. I’ve been here 2 months now. It won’t be too long until I see you again. Please bear with it. The message ends and Oranee whispers:“I love you too.”

Oranee starts crying because she has to decide between Prawat or her father. She looks at her rose pattern blanket, she weeps even more. She takes the blanket and hides it in a drawer. She has made her decision, she chooses her father. The reality is that Phubordee and his mother will never approve of her relationship with Prawat. The contract she had with them is a mere deception.

In Phubordee’s office, they videotaped their staged conversation.

Oranee lying:“I’m sure, a year is too long. In my life, I have many things to encounter. If you are prepared to pay, I’m prepared to leave.”

He offers her 3 million baht ($84,850 USD), she asked for more…. 5 million baht ($141,582 USD).

Phubordee:“Don’t you think you’re going to far?”

Oranee:”No. Right now, the price of living has increase, everything has become more expensive. 3 million baht can be spent very easily. Five million baht is just a little bit of what I would have gotten.”

Phubordee:“My goodness, does Prawat know you’re this type of woman?”

Oranee solemnly:“You don’t need to worry, you’re brother is very stupid. If he knew I was like this, he wouldn’t have fallen for me. Don’t worry, I’m a good lakorn actress.”

Phubordee gives her the check and said: “I hope in this life time, I won’t see you again.”

Oranee replied:”Don’t worry, i don’t want to see you ever again too.”

Before she leaves, Phubordee asked, “How will I know you won’t get involve with my brother again?”

Oranee:“Don’t worry, I will won’t get involve with your brother again. Just make sure your brother stays away from me.”

Outside his office, Oranee drops the check and starts to cry. DUDE woman, chill with the crying. Toughen up.

Phubordee watches her briefly, slightly feeling bad. He picks up the check, placed on a shelf, and hands her a check for 3 million baht. The real check.

She weeps.

Coldly Phubordee tells her: “now that you have the check, I hope you can keep your promise.”

Oranee:“Don’t worry, once I have given my word, I don’t break them like other people.”

Phubordee:”What will you do if Prawat contacts you?”

Oranee still weeping:“I will tell him we should stop seeing each other and our love is impossible. And that I want my old life back.”

Phubordee informs her that her father has had the operation. It went well.

“You are doing this for your family and I’m doing this for my family too.” He tells her before leaving. What a loser! Don’t you just hate him at this moment.

Immediately, without Oranicha knowing, her father is ushered into the operation room. There, the best surgeon awaits for him.

Though her father’s operation went well, Oranicha is still worried. Who paid for the surgery?

Gifgay orders her to go home and shower.

When Oranicha arrives at the house, she sees her sister packing.

Oranee has sold the house, the must move out by the end of the month.

Oranee lies that she has sold the house to pay for the operation and has consulted with Khun Tawee for a new place to live.

Also, she had decided to break up with Prawat.

Oranicha is baffled by her sister’s decision.

“If you leave and Prawat returns and doesn’t find you here, what will happen?” Oranicha asked.

“If destiny dictates it to be, then we will see each other again.” Oranee answered.

Oranicha is given to two option, she can go or not. Her sister will not coerce her to come along.

The episode ends with Oranicha sitting on the steps not knowing what to think.
