This could just be nothing. But it is up for discussion.
Sathit Pitutecha (member of the Democratic party, the current ruling party of Thailand) is attempting to censor lakorns. He received demands from parents and many Thais claiming lakorns such as “Mia Luang (Head Wife)” and “Borisud Bumbat Kaen (The Revenge Therapy Company)” which just ended two weeks ago are bad for Thai children and Thai youths. The behaviors displayed in these lakorns are not “mor som” for the youth of Thailand, meaning it’s not appropriate for kids. Sathit Pitutecha and others fear Thai children and youths will mimic these types of ill behaviors and thus he wants to change the ratings methods for Thai TV. He wants to move the prime time lakorn time slot from 20:30 to 22:00 (8:30pm to 10pm). At 20:30, children are still awake and watching adult themed lakorns with their parents, he argued.
He is sending his concern to Teera Slukpetch, Thailand’s Minister of Culture, and to Sathit Wongnongtoei, the Prime Minister’s Office Minister for discussion.
I call this the unneeded “Save the Children” hysteria. Even at a young age, I knew right from wrong, I didn’t mimic what I saw on TV. They should give children more credit.
For those who are not watching “Mia Luang” or know nothing about it, it’s a lakorn starring Pok Piyatida, Aum Patcharapra, and Tui Theerapart about a married man who can’t keep his pants on. He loves his wife played by the talented Pok; however, he cheats on her and finds nothing wrong with his adulterous ways. He is currently sleeping with his children’s nanny and also seeing Aum Patcharapra’s character. His wife is an emotional wreck and doesn’t know how to mend their marital problems.
“Mia Luang” is a very popular lakorn, it airs every Monday and Tuesday on Ch7.

neena, if you found it sad that aum sank so low to accept nang’rai roles then can we say the same for yui jiranan and benz pornchita? or are they exempt?
Anyways, did they made this big of a deal when ch 7 made this lakorn for the first time with priyanuch and sam then ch 3 remade it with johnny ann s and benz?
thai censorship is really BS! i hate it when they censor guns being pointed to a person or alcohol on the table or such…its very stupid!! why would thai people have movies like body # 19 and art of the devil if censorship on TV is this harsh? Those movies should be banned also but still its in cinemas. whomever thought of the censorship is real stupid.
Mia Laung…i have one concern…how did Aum patahrapa sink so low? she’s the nang’rai now? sad.
i agree with ya sally…i don’t find it’s wrong. I watched the Boorisut Bambat kean too and it was just fine. please don’t ban these kinds of lakorns because it adds more flavor and taste to the lakonrs. diversity is much more fun and enjoyable. I don’t want to watch the same lakorns about the good deeds in each lakorn coz it will be boring. i need craziness, cheating, sweet, sour, bitter and all kind themes in each different lakorn.
Besides the parents who are the ones to blame. they are responsible to teach them and tell them…”see this is wrong and you have to pay the consequences like that actor and so so.” lolz…that what my mom told me when i watched lakorns.
There is nothing wrong at all. I grew up watching all kinds of stuff and I leaned from it. Follow the good ones and stay away from the bad ones. It’s simple. There got to be good and bad otherwise the kids can’t learn. And that will lead them to do more bad stuff because they don’t know the consequences. So I think it’s good that lakorn can portray that and that the kids can see the results and not to make the same mistakes? Agree?
LOL someone else has the same name as me… (Stardust).
Anyways, this is bad news!
My mom doesn’t care about how good/bad lakorns are, but she makes me sleep at 10.30…
For some reason whenever there is an attempt to censor something I just get really worked up…lol. I agree that mia luang is bad for youth hence the reason why they shouldn’t watch it…what are they gonna do? Censor out those scenes like they do with a gun or a bottle of booze? They r so retarded. Clearly, you can see him bout to shoot off his head…or drinkin a forty! Like lyn said…give the kids some credit. I grew up watching lakorns and I turned out fine…kinda.
I’m with ish on that. It’s up to the parent’s/guardians, if the children don’t figure it out on their own. True that!
I do admit that it’s a bad influence for children. However, during this time slot most children, if still awake, will be watching it with their parents and I expect the parents will probably advise them. Furthermore, I agree that they should give more credit to the children. Unless they are younger than 10 – which by right at that time they should be sleeping -, I am sure the children can tell right from wrong not blindly mimicking. Besides, it all starts with parents teaching them virtues. If one has the right perspective, one (even a child) will not follow something which is wrong blindly.
Is this guy high or something? Thai lakorns are very conservative compared to other asian dramas. There’s no real kissing, and compared to that of other cultures very tame. Who are these parents that are complaining? I think it’s all in his head. If you don’t like something on t.v. shut it off.
They are so hypocritical.
Okay, why would children be watching this lakorn in the first place? Shouldn’t parents be monitoring what their kids are watching on tv? The problem isn’t with lakorns, it starts off with parents teaching their kids right from wrong. Children are pretty smart these days, I think they would know what is real and what is fiction and not every single kid is going to portray what they see on television. Bottom line is, if you don’t want your kids to see it, turn off the tv and don’t let them watch it.
it’s not inappropriate on the basis of intimacy scenes. lakorn ppl don’t even kiss for god’s sake, it’s very irritating.
On the plot basis though, it sure needs to be changed. Those fake R scenes can be gone, together with all the other lame plot like girl boy fight boy rape girl fall in love then pregnant and all that. it’s not inappropraite, but it’s boring after watching 2 or 3 lakorns.
lol. i didn’t like the plot of this lakorn so i never bothered
to watch it. however, i did happen to see some parts in there
that annoyed me. OMG! THE SONG!! IT WAS SO IRRITATING
TO LISTEN TO!! i do agree that it is a bad example for the
youth group after reading the synopsis.
well…I agree with those points…it’s bad for children…although it’s not “very” apparent and we can’t see the effects immediately, I do believe they have impact on children (the negative ones)
Please do not removed my favorite lakorn to different time slot. I begs of you.
Uhh… these lakorns are like rated G compared to the prime time shows we have here in the US.
What harm can douche bag husband from Mia Luang and crazy Nongchanai from Borisud Bumbut Kaen do??? Unless he thinks the future youth of Thailand will all cheat on their wives? Or that everyone will become crazy when their husband cheat on them?
