When it comes to TV ratings, Ch7 will always dominate. Ch3 will come in second and Ch5 will always come dead last. Always! And, Modern 9 is the neglected child.
I remember someone posted this at youtube for a Buang Ruk Kammathep video, I think it was the first episode, “Ch5 is too intense, I can’t even tolerate to watch it.”
Her exact words were “raeng mak”, meaning too aggressive or too intense. The comment was written in Thai. Like me, I think that Thais don’t like many Ch5 lakorns because they are too unrealistically intense–too many catfights, nonsensical plot-line, and over acting. Like I always say about Ch5 series, it’s a lakorn in a lakorn.
Comedies seem to dominate. Technically, you can’t categorize “Meu Nang” as a romance comedy; however, for a horror romance lakorn, it did have a lot of comedic moments.

and it seems to me that Pancake is getting to do
almost everything now and all old actresses are gone….

I love Sapai Glai Peng Tiang with Ann and Chakrit. I couldn’t watch any other lakorns at the moment coz I’m so hooked with it. I might watch Aump and Pea Arak’s lakorn since its rating is so high like this.
Yes, the Mae Ying director is the same guy that does the Silamanee. But Mae Ying is not a popular lakoru. I think the reason Silamanee was doing so well was because of Kob instead of the director. Kob seems to pull lots of rating and interest just like Pancake does. I swear no matter what lakorns pancake was in, it was a hit. I believe Kob has the same power.
CH7 has always been the more popular channel in Thailand.

I personally enjoy most of ch3 lakorns over all channels, but I tried to watch all channels. I can’t watch Mos and Vill lakorn because I sense no chemistry. I can bare through a lakorn even if chemistry isn’t there but I can’t put myself to watch Mos and Vill. Ch5 has been annoying me with their pairing lately. Jaew, I loved the beginning but it is annoying me as well. Sapai, good beginning and I am starting to feel that it is going down on me.
I remember back in the day when ch.5 lakorn was good. I especially love ROYLAYSANAYRAI with Aom P and Tik. That lakorn was the shit. Perfect chemistry and no over acting. dang that scene where p’Aom found out the truth, simply amazing.
Ch7 started out first, they had major lakorns first. I think that is why people are attach to Channel 7.
? I don’t know, I watch all lakorns equally from whatever channel. Each channel has their pros and cons.
Note that Thais love comedies mix in with revenge, comedies tend to rule the roost.
And horror lakorns, oh my gosh, Thais love their horror lakorns.
So even with all of Kwan’s bad press over the past few months, her lakorn still did well? I don’t know if that’s good or bad lol. I read Lome’s caps and I actually thought it had its good moments. But there were definitely some elements that had you go WTH??!
@mozemoua: I agree with you. I think that CH3′s actors and actresses are much more mature Their lakorns seem to hold my attention longer too.
I still don’t understand the whole ratings gap. Has CH7 always been the leading channel in Thailand? Since their ratings are so high, I can see why some of the CH7 stars are reluctant to leave even if they’re only seen in one or two lakorns every year. I guess just being on the roster at CH7 is enough.
I like ch. 3 better. I feel like their actors and actresses are much more mature and better at what they do. Their storylines are much more solid and their stories does not drag as long. As for Ch. 7, i feel like their lakorn drags with so much drama that does not need to be added. I also feel that their n’ek and p’ek isn’t as great. As for ch. 5, their stories can be very dramatic and very uhhh intense. LOL. The few i watch are pretty good and the rest I jsut ignore. Regardless I still think Ch. 3 are the better of the channels.

Sapai Glai Peun Tiang—-Really good i hope i wont’ get draggy like the majority of the thai dama—good begining but it’ll get draggy later, but up until now the show is still good.
Meu Nang—too draggy–how can it get a high rating???
