More Aof and Jakajan for the weekend

Kwan is the reincarnation of Jakajan

Aof Chanapol and Jakajan Akumsiri will continue to remain on air with their new lakorn, “Roi Ruk Roi Baap (Trace of Love, Trace of Vengeance)” after the conclusion of their horror/comedy lakorn, “Ruk Tae Gae Dai (True love can fix it)” for the weekend time slot. Instead of taking on a supporting role, Aof Chanapol will lead “Trace of Love, Trace of Vengeance” with ‘Kwan’ Usamanee Waitayanon.

Trace of Love, Trace of Vengeance” is a reincarnation, grudge from the past life lakorn– the sins of the parents seeping down to their children’s era. The source of the sins derive from two people: Phya Visut (“Aum” Amrin Nitipon) and his wife Khun Ying Raya (“Jiab” Sopitnapa Chumpanee), two high ranking individuals who own several acres of land and slaves in early 20th century Thailand.

Phya Visut had a penchant for young slaves to whom he raped and elevated to lesser wife (mia noi) status. His wife Khun Ying Raya did feel betrayed by his continuous infinity with women of lesser quality (slave girls), she manipulated and scheme to get rid of her husband’s lesser wives using all means necessary. She played the cool, kind mia luang (head wife), but really she was conniving, creating tensions, causing miscarriages among the lesser wives, using each individual as a tool to get rid of the other.

The betrayal and murder of one of her husband’s lesser wives would come back to haunt her.

Chaun (Jakajan Akumsiri) and Im (Ponaya Ponphupipat) are two young slaves roughly 18 years old. They are best friends and have boyfriends of their own. Im is dating Ying, another slave person. Chaun is seeing Boon (Baworapoj Jaikanta), also a slave. They are all owned by Khun Ying Raya and Phya Visut.

Im and Chaun are very beautiful young women which stirs the interest of Phya Visut. Im is attacked and raped first by Phya Visut and elevated to wife status. Im is devastated because she lost her virginity via a rape and is now forced to live with a man she does not love. Nonetheless, her fate had been chosen, she becomes pregnant with Phya Visut’s child.

Im was not enough for him, Phya Visut wanted another wife. He had eyes for Chaun and begged his head wife Khun Ying Raya to allow him to add one more wife to their family and he promised it would be the last. Khun Ying Raya knew too well her husband had a voracious appetite for women, she had no choice but to allow it.

Though Khun Ying Raya must give in to her husband’s desires, she used adding Chaun as an advantage to getting ride of Im. She knew Im and Chaun were best friends. Also, she knew Chaun had a lover name Boon and does  NOT want to be Phya Visut’s lesser wife. Khun Ying Raya arranged the rape of Chaun but later lied to her that Im arranged it because she feared Phya Visut would send her back to slave status if she didn’t. From that point on, Chaun held a grudge on Im.

Chaun becomes pregnant with Phya Visut’s child after the rape and is elevated to wife status.

With both girls pregnant, Khun Ying Raya felt even more threatened, she started planning. She gave Im an abortion potion but lied saying it was just medicine for pregnant women. Im was ordered by Khun Ying Raya to give it to Chaun.

Chaun suffered a miscarriage and the blame went to Im. Khun Ying Raya lied that Im planned the whole thing because she felt threatened by Chaun’s pregnancy. In fact it was the other way around, Khun Ying Raya was the one who felt threatened. As punishment, Im is demoted to slave status while pregnant with Phya Visut’s child and starts living with Boon.

Chaun now believes her former friend caused her to be raped, has killed her unborn child, and now has run off with the only man she has ever loved. It definitely added layers to her grudge towards Im.

Another year, another wife, Phya Visut takes in another wife and also impregnates her. By this point, Khun Ying Raya is pregnant too, they say she will have a girl and Phya Visut’s new wife will have a boy. Khun Ying Raya felt threatened again and used the same method she used earlier with Im. She framed Chaun by giving her an abortion potion to give to Phya Visut’s new wife. The new wife suffered a miscarriage and Chaun is punished by Phya Visut with a whipping. The whipping lead to her death and she vows to everyone she will have her revenge one day.

As fate would have it, her spirit is immediately transferred into the pregnant belly of Khun Ying Raya. She is reincarnated as Khun Ying Raya’s daughter Nu Yim (“Kwan” Usamanee Waitayanon). Nu Yim grows up to hate the sight of her father but never knew why. Every time she saw Im, she also felt hate boiling up.

Back with Im, she did give birth to Phya Visut’s child while living with Boon, it was a girl. She named her Kaew (”Fai” Nichanun Funkaew). Im also had a child with Boon, a son, Kra (“Kwan” Usamanee Waitayanon), meaning bold. The foursome were eventually freed by Phya Visut as slaves. Kaew grows up to be school teacher and Kra becomes a soldier.

Kaew and Im have encounters with Nu Yim, who grows up to be a high society girl. The encounters never turn out well. Yim is cruel to them, she loathes them because in her past life as Chaun she felt betrayed by Im and Kaew’s biological father Phya Visut.

Kra found it odd that Nu Yim would continuously harass his mother and sister and he would have to defend them often. So he went investigating and slowly found out about his parent’s back history with Nu Yim and her family. He also learned that Kaew is not his full sister, they are half-siblings. They share a mother only.

Knowing all of this, Kra tries to reform Nu Yim because she is misunderstanding everything and the grudge from past is misdirected. She should be angry with her mother Khun Ying Raya instead of everyone else.

This lakorn will air next Friday, August 14, 2009.
