The theme for this year is ‘Fantasy world’. Superstars is a reality show where they recruit D-list stars, have them live together, put them into groups each week, and train them to do musical numbers for weekly shows. It reminds me of dancing with the stars but not really. It’s a more flashy show, they don’t have trained professionals helping them out on stage, and the style is more like a cabaret show. Let me tell, the show is colorful.
The contestants are competing for a truckload of money. Last year, ‘Gof Akara Amarttayakul won. He took home 10 million baht (286,956.40 USD) in cash and other prizes. In total, he won 17 million baht (487,825.8749 USD). Yes, a whole lot of “Do-Ri-Me”. The last standing 3 finalist don’t leave empty-handed either. Fluke, Tak Bongkot, and Jik Naowarat, last years losing finalist, took home prizes worth more than 2 million baht (57,391.2794 USD). Not too shabby.
Last year there were 14 contestants. This year, there are only 10. Superstars will air every Saturday nights at 9:30pm on Modern 9 starting September 26, 2009. You can check out their website here.

Lydia’s boyfriend Matthew Deane. When he does his signature stare, the guy can give you the chills. Seriously, he freaks me out.

Nong Toom (real name:Parinya Kiatbusaba or Parinya Charoenphol). She is a katoey Muay Thai boxer. The movie “Beautiful Boxer” was based on her life.
RS singer and actress Nathalie Davis. She has a minor role in “Jai Rao (Cracked Heart)” as Ken’s adopted younger sister.
Rapper, actor, and model Nicky “The Stick” Sura Theerakol.
The last role I remember her in was in “Badarn Jai (The Nether Minds)” with Aum Atichart and Margie Rasee. It’s “Ming” Chalisa Boonkrongsub.
Ch3 pra’ek Aon Sarawut
Actress Mamee Nakapapa, I’m not too familiar with her work.
What is Oil, Aum, Aon doing on this show. It’s not like they need money. Ok maybe Oil does I haven’t seen him in a lakorn in a long time; he looks hot with that hair do. The other people sound like D listers. Well I guess the channel is paying them big bucks to be on it.
D-list stars are the unknown stars. The ones with small roles or the extras. Or the nang rais. Hehe

Yeah, I totally don’t believe that Oil Thana should be here. He is a A-lister in my book. I love his movies, especiall the one with Kwan Usamee (I think I spelled her name wrong). Either way, what is this show about? Their costumes remind me of a show the Stan Lee did called, “Who wants to be the next super hero?” on Sci Fi. Something like that. They all want to be super heroes and they have to go through all these challeges. Very interesting. lol.

OMG!!! What is Oil Thana doing on this show? Same here, I don’t consider him as d-list. Isn’t he apart of the A-listers?? I loved his movie with Noon Woranuch or however you spell her name. I also like Aon Sarawut but too bad he’s not in a lot of lakorns. Otherwise, I don’t know the other so-called actors and actresses.

That’s true, I don’t consider Oil or Aon as D-list stars, makes me wonder why they’re on here too..
Wow, is it Halloween already??? LOL. haha. Hmmm, I don’t know alot of people besides Aon. He looks hot. I’m kinda confused on the show and how it works, but whatever. So whoever wins just keeps the money for themselves?? cool. (:

I don’t consider Mamee or Kratae to be D-list actresses, but time marches on and film roles are harder to come by I suppose.
Mamee is probably best known now for two “Art of the Devil” films. She was in the snake movie “Mae Bia” in 2001/2, was in the Anglo-Thai romance “Butterfly Man” and was recently in the Hollywood-Thai romance, “Bitter/Sweet”.
