“October Sonata or Ruk Tee Ror Koi (Love that waits)” ain’t gonna make it, wrote a person at Pantip forum. Thai people do not like sappy romance drama, the person argued. What about Anne Thongprasom’s movie “the Letter”, asked another Pantip member. It, too, is a sappy romance drama, it did pretty well. The argument continued– they didn’t promote the film well enough, it’s too Korean I can’t stomach it wrote another person. They did promote the film well enough, said another member. So well, they’re tired of hearing about it
Whatever the reason, “Koy” Ratchawin Wongviriya’s latest film “October Sonata or Ruk Tee Ror Koi (Love that waits)” bombed at the Thai box office. Five days in, it has only made 4.1 million baht ($122,913 USD). That’s pretty bad according to these people.
I kinda wanna watch it now after listening to the OST. I have Boyd Kosiyabong’s song for the film, “So Very Far Apart” on instant replay on my Ipod. You can download the song here.

i find korean dramas to be so overrated. honestly, with the exception of a few, i find them to be very boring. their storyline is always about 2 guys liking the same girl or the main character got an illness and die. i don’t want to see sad endings all the time it’s depressing.
however, i liked ann and num in the letter. they made a nice couple. but this is not to say i’m gonna like all korean remakes.
Why are they saying that this movie is too Korean? Ann’s movie, The Letter, was a remake from an old Korean movie too. I have the movie dubbed in Hmong. I loved the Korean version way better than Ann’s version..eventhough it’s older. I kinda want to watch this movie too after seeing the trailer. Maybe there will be a twist to it.
Maybe her fame just died out with her relationship?
When you said “bombed”, I thought you mean it did well. lol. But I guess it didn’t do so well. You know, I didn’t really like the whole idea of the movie being korean-ish in the first place. I don’t really dig Thai dramas/movies that tries to much to be korean-like. I like Thai dramas and movies to be in their own little cultural genre [if you get what I mean]. Korean dramas/movie [not considering the chickflicks], someone always dies…and I don’t think that’s something to be looked forward to in a drama/movie. Anyways, I thought this movie was actually gonna do good, but I guess not. And it’s funny how they compared this to Anne’s “sappy romance drama”. I mean, c’mon! It’s Anne! haha. Who wouldn’t watch Anne?? If Anne was in this movie, it would have made more money. lol. (:
That’s an old song of his, but a goodie.
omg! i loveeee this song too! its actually pretty old. like many, many years old.
p.s. i just found this blog and love it! i’ve been looking for something like this for thai news/dramas for a while. THANKS! =]]]
Doesn’t he sing one of the songs from Film and Pat Napapa’s lakorn Mon Ruk Kao Tom Mut? Does anyone have the name of that song? Please and thanks!
