Hint, it’s a comedy.
Channel 7′s romantic comedy from Polypus starring “Aum” Patcharapa Chaichuea and “Pae” Arak Amornsuppasiri, “Jaew Jai Rai Gub Khun Chai Taewada (Jaew, the wicked one and Godly Chai)” is named lakorn of the year.
A few contenders for the top prize of “lakorn of the year” from each channel included:
Ch3:
Poo Yai Lee gub Nang Ma (Headman Lee and Miss Ma) starring Ploy Chermarn and Por Thrisadee, a major ratings hit for Ch3
Soot Sanaeha (A recipe for Love) starring Anne Thongprasom and Ken Theeradeth
Ch5:
Ching Chang (Hate) starring Captain, Puri, Jieb, Pim, Ann Alisa, Pang, Pepper, and so many others.
Ch7:
Sao 5 (5 Saturns) starring Eak Rungsiroj, Kwang, Arnas, Marissa, Nam, Grace, Pai, Oun, Note, and Kam.
‘Kom Faek: Checkmate’ with Noon Woranuch and Por Natthawut.
The final two real contenders were “Jaew Jai Rai Gub Khun Chai Taewada (Jaew, the wicked one and Godly Chai)” and Sao 5 (5 Saturns), it was a difficult decision. Though “Sao 5 (5 Saturns) received the highest rating for the year, “Jaew Jai Rai” was also a ratings hit and was loved by everyone, crossing gender and age group compared to “Sao 5″. It was loved across the board while Thairath described “Sao 5″ as a lakorn loved by people mostly from the provinces (meaning the countryside). Plus “Jaew Jai Rai” made Pae Arak a break out star, he was a star before, he became a bigger star after starring in “Jaew Jai Rai”. In conclusion, Pae and Aum’s romantic comedy “Jaew Jai Rai Gub Khun Chai Taewada (Jaew, the wicked one and Godly Chai)” is the lakorn of the year.
I don’t think they consider the opinions of viewers outside of thailand else ch 7 might not win all the time. Aum and Pae’s lakorn was the talk of the town, earning high ratings while Soot Sanae Ha is just the talk of die hard fans and possibly foreigners. I enjoyed both.

I had a feeling it would be Jaew lol. Thailand loved it and so did I. It was a funny and light-hearted lakorn.
I saw the teaser of this lakorn and i was like ” ewwwww the p’ek is so ugly” so i never watched this honestly i only watched like 4 ch7 lakorns this year.

did any one notice how pancakes’s lakorn wasn’t a chocie :p..heheh or maybe it was so I didn’t watch it….I can’t stand pancake like most of you can’t stand aump probably…so no matter what lakorn she’s in, I can’t bring myself to watch it and actually enjoy it. I thought this lakorn was hilarious and super cute!!! One of my favorite lakorns of all time for sure but I think ching chang should have won. The story line and cast was absolutely amazing. Let’s hope to have more good lakorns next year like we did this year

Jaew Jai Rai was a really funny lakorn lol. Aum was super cute there and Pei wasn’t that bad himself =)

I’m curious,because I read at Siamrath,52th Annual Media Favortie Award awarded Soot Saneha as their favorite lakorn of the year.

Jaew Jai Rai was good but wasn’t great..I thought Anne’s 3 lakorns were way better ( BBK, Sapai Gai.., and Soot Sanaeha). One of the three lakorns should have been best 2009 lakorn of the year in my opinion.

The only lakorns that really deserve the award are Soot Sanaeha and Ching Chang (although personally I didn’t like it, I give its credit to their performances and improvement in character development as the lakorn progress)

It does make since because ch7 had high ratings for almost all their dramas this year. But it just never crossed my mind that Aum and Pae’s drama would win. Great…now we all know Aum’s gonna be in even more lakorns in 2010.
