A look back at 2009 Thai ET weddings

I was looking through all end of the year rankings and recaps of the sexiest magazine cover, births, weddings, scandals, and so forth and I realize I don’t remember half of this stuff that went down. I really got confuse like “that really went down in 2009 not 2008′, I was in a blur.

I was surprise how many people got married, like each month there was a wedding announcement.

So here is my post on the people who got married this year. Firstly, we are starting off this wedding recap with Tik and Peach.

Many of us cried when we learned “Tik” Jesadaporn Pholdee married his long time love “Peach” Sitamon Taengsuwan, businesswoman and friend to Chompoo Araya. What’s more surprising is that he was dating her secretly for the past 5 years. And most of us thought, “say what?”

Ch5′s leading actress and one of the top actresses in Thailand ‘Aom’ Piyada Akarasene got engaged to her beau of over a year ‘Art’ Sara Jutharattanakul on July 4th, then she legally married him soon after in August with the Queen’s blessing in Hua Hin. Fast-forward two months later in October, they held their reception at the Plaza Athenee hotel in Bangkok.  According to Mor Doo Fun Thong or Ajarn Lak (psychic to the stars), there is a chance she could get pregnant this year and there is a possibility she could suffer a miscarriage. Roll eyes, do people actually believe in this stuff? This couple is destined to be together for life according to Mor Doo Fun Thong.

“Oh” Pakjira Wanasut and her long time love of 4 or maybe 5 years “Fiat” Matukorn Potwangot wed in May in a very lavish wedding with roughly 1000 guest. The couple that like to call each other Bebe and Bobo seemed very happy out of all the couples who married this year.

Ug, this couple married. Scandal prone actor and singer Tao Somchai married his long time friend “Yui” Atmat Atwawimon in June of this year. Some thought it was a sham to distract the public from his other scandal of beating up an old man at a noodle shop in Chiangmai a few months earlier. The couple were friends for years and then dated for 3 months and then married. They are expecting a child this year.

Actor “Wut” Atsadawut Luengsuntorn married his manager and girlfriend Phanit of 16 years in February, a few months later, we learned it was a shotgun wedding, no wonder she looked sick, she was actually pregnant and gave birth to their child sometimes this year, I don’t remember when.

“Wimarn Sai (Sand Castle)” and”Hua Jai Chocolate”, ‘San’ Panomkorn Tangtatsawas married his long time girlfriend of 16 years ‘Gay’ Sirigan Piyagraiwuti at the Nai Lert Park Hotel in Bangkok back in September 9, 2009. It was a 9-9-09 wedding.

Couple 7

“Kob” Suvanant Kongying and “Brook” Danuporn Poonakan at their not so legal wedding back in January. Personally and according to several people, they married to subdue the rumor that his mother did not approve of her. It’s been a year and this couple has not gotten their marriage license. It’s kinda funny how it has been so long I thought they married in 2008.

In February, actor Hugo Chakrapong converted to Islam for his soon-to-wife actress Hana Tudsanawalai. In March, they rocked it at their Indian-Modern Rock themed wedding. Currently the couple is trying for a child.

Couple 9

44 year old Thai comedian Ple Nakorn married his 27 year old girlfriend Nong June Kasama back in September 9, 2009. Again, another 9-9-09 wedding. You can check out their wedding pictures here.

Couple 10

He used to be big back in the day, now he just playing very minor side characters on Ch7. It’s 32 year old ‘Louis’ Amrinot Simarot at his wedding to his long time girlfriend of 8 years, 27 year old Joy Sakunrat, an heiress. The couple married on November 22, 2009 at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. They are honeymooning in America.

‘Dong’ Sitiporn Niyom or Prince Gawin from Silamanee married his girlfriend of 12 years ‘Yui’ Pattamawan Kaomonkadee on September 12, 2009.
