Everyone calm down, it’s temporary! I know someone will ask in the comment section, why is he doing this? It’s just a religious rite of passage that some Thai buddhist men chose to take to honor their parents, ward off bad luck, to find enlightenment, or for a funeral. Some do it for a week, others 2 or 3 weeks, some for 2 months, it depends on the individual.
I like doing ordination (entering the monkhood) news though it’s boring because you get to see the intimate side of the individual who is being ordained, you get to see their family and friends because this is a very important affair. Most importantly, if they are seeing someone, you get to see their girlfriend carrying their monk pillow during the parade to the Wat (temple).
And I always like to compare the before and after pictures–does the person look better with hair and eyebrows or without, cause some people just look busted without. You get a good laugh out of their new look, the balded monk style with shaven eyebrows. The verdict on Pong is that he looks alright. He has the holy, trustworthy head. It’s egg shaped, that’s why it’s holy.
Thirty-one year old Pong was ordained earlier today at the Wat Intrawas in Ayutthaya province, he will be ordained for 15 days. This time around because this is not his first time being ordained, he will continue on his spiritual journey at the Wangnamkheo in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima. Because his parents are from Ayutthaya province, he decided on this temple and not some Bangkok temple.

Look, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, nope, it’s just too many photographers and people are getting confuse. The dilemma, which way to look? Mos is looking up to the right; Khun Boy, Pong, Pong’s mother Kalaya, Fang, and Captain are looking left. Pong’s dad Viboon is looking straight.
Nice pink with a dog in the center t-shirt ‘Pookhai’ Phongsiree Banluewong. So girly!
Pong posing with his parents and giving an interview with the press. Pong looks nothing like his mother, he takes after his father.

I am recently watching Pong lakorn (Ka Khong Korn) with Noon Woranooch. This lakorn is great! I love every bit of it and Pong is such a great actor. I love all his lakorn and will continue to be his #1 fan in the U.S. I can’t wait to see the ending of this lakorn and I get chill and bumps everytime I see his handdsome face. He is so gorgeous!
tai sao anh pong di tu vay
toi da gui la thu cho anh nhung anh ko gui gi ca
The day Pong Nawat was ordained January 31st right?
He still my sexy pong no matter how he looks!!
are pong and fang dating?
Pong is my kind of guy… long face (very “in” now due to Korean trends) and very wholesome… It doesn’t hurt that he is also tall and recently built up his body! I also love his Big LIPS…. yummy yummy and most important of all… he doesn’t look “gay”!
*jumps in joy* No girlfriend in sight for Pong!xD
Lyn, I knew Pong was going into ordination and i knew you were going to cover this! I’m glad you covered it because i’ve been missing him ever since PNGRT. And i like hearing about these. No doubt, Pong still looks good before and after! Good looking parents, no wonder. I actually think Pong gets his wide smile from his mommy. Everything else is definitely from his pops. The Laotian and Thai cultures share similar practices..? I wish Pong a wonderful time. After this, he will go into knee surgery and will be resting for awhile.
I remember Fang had that cameo in Ngao Asoke. Maybe they became friends after that. I agree with you, Chuah, Pong still looks good even without hair and eyebrows. That’s one good looking monk. HaHa
fang is here. why? i am confused. is there any personal relationship between her and pong or his family?
I know, Fang being there was random. I scratched my head about that too. The only thing they have in common is that they work for the same production company (Exact).
Ahh, my brother-in-law was ordained once for a funeral. Don’t know much about it though.
I must say, Pong still looks hecka good looking without hair or brows!
HAHA, happy to see everyone there. Fang being there though is kinda random. lmao
why is fang there?
Sorry, but I don’t know much about the thai culture.
But do they also shave your eyebrows off too? JW
b/c they shaved Pong’s off.

yes, hair is vanity. Shaving the hair and eyebrows is like stripping away vanity from your former self into the more enlightened you. Most definitely you have to shave the head, depending on region, the eyebrows won’t be or will be shaved off. My brother had his eyebrows and head shave for all of his 4 ordination. I laughed and felt bad for him because we live in the U.S, our culture is pretty weird considering where we live.
just wondering since this would be his second time..how many times can a person be ordained?
—
my brother has been ordained 4 times in his life. Several times, depending on the person and the occasion. In the case of my brother, 3 times for a funeral, each lasting a week. His most recent one, which won’t be his last, was the big one, the one honoring our parents.
lol @ the too many photographers comment.
