Kai Varayuth, lakorn producer and actor.
Man, no one wants the role of “E-Pan”, the sexually explicit female lead of Kai Varayuth’s lakorn “Duangta Sawan (An Eye for Paradise)” for Ch3. “Cherry” Khemupsorn Sirisukha backed out claiming the role was too much for her. Her replacement, Janie Tienposuwan has done the same, citing the same problem. The role is too much–TOO Intense!
“Duangtha Sawan” follows the life of “E-Pan”, a once country bumpkin, turned social climber, who uses her sexuality to get what she wants. It’s not the sass of the character that terrifies these nang’eks, they have the talent to play a sassy character. It’s the sexual immorality of the character that scares them. Kai has said that Janie and other nang’eks fear that they can never play a nang’ek role again if they play “E-Pan”. The stigma of “E-Pan” might ruin their good-girl image. You know how it is, nang’eks are suppose to be pure and innocent.
Janie told Kai, she is still young and not capable of playing this complex role. Kai accepted her decision, but still found it strange because Janie has been acting in lakorns for years, he sees her as a capable actress. But if she doesn’t feel comfortable, he understands.
Since Janie backed out, Kai wants film actress with a reputation, Tak “Volcano boobs” Bongkot Kongmalai for the role. If it doesn’t go through, they should blame the Ch3 elders, he said. He wants her, the Ch3 elders are reluctant. If not her, he wants a fresh face, someone talented, someone bold who can handle the challenges of the “E-Pan” role.
Janie out, ‘Volcano boobs’ might replace. If they don’t find an actress who will accept this role, the lakorn might not happen.

Anyway..Joy, Ploy or Nampeung would be great for the role. But if Tak is in it I would definitely watch the lakorn.
We have to understand that in the entertainment biz every actor or actress will face difficult role. This show their acting abilities from their “normal” acting role in lakorn. They still have a long way to learn and built to play a challenging role and become a great actor/actress who can portray the character. It doesn’t matter if it is intense, contain sexuality, or by what so ever he/she can still play it out. So whoever they offer this role to and portray without worrying about peoples thoughts then I gotta say this actress is ready to face a role that will bring her acting career up!
Good for Cherry and Janie for not excepting this role cause if this movie deals with a girl socially exposing herself, I don’t think it would be good for either Cherry or Janie. They are perfect the way they are.
Nampeung?? noooo! lol wow i didnt know pauls mom in silamanee was the main girl in the older version. O.o impressive.. really interesting… ithink i wouldnt mind taking on that role. lol.ithink ploy is perfect for this role, and or pei that fake boobie girl, umm who else… Pat. i gotta admit, she and fake boobie girl have this “cute daring look” to their eyes. lol
cherry is out.. and janie too now.. anyways i’ll watch it if tak takes the offer ^_^.. ive grown fond of her but.. not this storyline much though… eeek.. i just wanna see tak with a comeback..

I don’t think Ann is failing. She’s doing really good in her acting. It’s just that she doesn’t look the part but she’s playing the part well.
I do agree that they should let someone cast for the role and may the best actress win! Using Tak will be boring… as she’s done such roles before! And @pipen53 says that they have to upkeep their image as nang’Ek and not destroy them… well, then let them stick to boring roles and eventually their popularity will go down the drain… Look at Noon Woranut… she has to take up more challenging roles like becoming more “bitchy” and self- defensive… with more slappings and scratchings… Come-on, nang’Eks are humans too… and there will also come a time where they WANT to be slutty and have SEX!
I think Joy, Ploy and Nampeung can play that role really well. They have played differents roles before.
Maybe they should just let people cast for the role if it’s that hard to find someone and whoever plays that role best then there you go.
It’s because it’s Kai’s lakorn, not because of the role.
You see even Ann Thongprasom fails in Kai’s Chaleoysak.
I can see Benz playing as E-Pan, she is very talented.. and I also think Tak will be good as well, cause she’s very seductive. I’m glad Janie backed out, can’t see her in this type of character, I wouldn’t watch it.. I hope they offer it to Tak!
This character reminds me of Noon CH7 early lakorn, Mae Ai Sa Erun, she was a country girl and became a prostitute in bangkok.. That role was very intense, and she did a great job too!

This role is really a challenging one and I’m sad neither Cherry nor Janie toke this opportunity. I know, thai people judge people easily and that a role like that can ruin a carrer but the actress who would be able to portray would gain my respect. It’s in such moment that I think Thailand have to be more open if they want to equal more developed countries and have credits in acting.
