Watching Kao (aka our Mr.Nine) host the IN magazine awards with “Kalamare” Patcharasir Benjamas was pretty darn hilarious. One, he wouldn’t look at “Pancake” Khemmanid Jamikorn in the eye when he handed her the “Well-Dressed Nang’ek” award. Kalamare took notice and asked why he didn’t look at Pancake straight in the face. He said she was too pretty and he felt shy. Everyone laughed. Then when he handed May Fuengarom the “Bitchy Baby” award, he avoided eye contact with her also. As he is talking and describing her pink durian award gift and continuing to avoid eye contact with her, he looks up and said, “this time I’m not shy, I’m just scared.” HAHA. The kid is funny. Again, everyone laughed. May is notoriously known for playing crazy nang’rais in lakorns, he just playing on that for laughs. It was hilarious.
With “Toey” Jarinporn Junkiat, he handed her the “Hot Girl” award and then started to describe the meaning of her award gift, a large pink pen. “She is a very cute girl, if, when someone ask for her number, she doesn’t have a pen to write it down for them…”
At this point, Kalamare interjects:”that pen is going to be used to write down her phone number for people?”
Kao answers ‘that’s correct’ and then said this to Toey, “if someone asked for your number and you don’t like them, you can use this to whack them over the head” Everyone laughed and Kalamare walked over to them and asked Toey for a favor. Can she just whack Kao over the head with that pen for her.
Though Kao is very loved at the moment, there has been some backlash. There is perception that he has become ill-mannered. It is rumored that Kao rejected famous director Poj Arnon movie offer and even insulted his films. Kao denied it. “That’s not true at all. He did contact me for work but really I don’t have the time. I do want to apologize to him. He has been in the business for a long time and I admire him. I watch a lot of his films. I admire him because he is a talented person.”
Kao also said he has never insulted Poj Arnon’s films and he is not an ill-mannered person. He is the same as before. If in the future, given that opportunity again, he would want to work with Poj Arnon. I hope not. Poj Arnon makes really terrible films.

Poj is capable of making good movies, he just chooses not to, and there’s something calculatingly cold and cynical about that decision. His movies make money anyway, so why put in the effort?
Bangkok Love Story (Puen) was okay, and his segment in the current horror-shorts anthology film Tai Hong (Die a Violent Death) was probably the best of the four and for sure the funniest. He even poked fun at himself I think.

Thank god he didn’t accept Poj Anon’s films and I hope he never does. Still to GTH Kao. But seriously, just because he didn’t accept the job he’s ill-mannered. Does this mean he has to accept every job offered to him then. I find it ridiculous that they used that reason to criticize him. Plus from what I’ve seen and read, he’s a real nice kid. I don’t think he would insult Poj Anon’s works though I personally would cause his movies are terrible just like you said Lyn.
