Is that time a year again, it’s the “IN magazine awards 2009″ or “IN Young Generation Awards 2009″, held at the Grammy building in BKK. I don’t pay attention to see who won what, it’s more about…did Pancake and Weir wore obnoxiously matching outfits AGAIN OR did Mario Maurer turned up looking like a Connecticut housewife with his rolled up Khakis pants and long white shirt. As predicted, Pancake and Weir did go together in matching outfits and Mario did look like a Connecticut housewife in those Khakis pants, long white shirt under a thick navy cardigan. Come on guy, you’re in Thailand, you don’t need a THICK WINTER CARDIGAN. Compared the fashion and results from last year here.
The awards category is always confusing and interesting and the award trophy itself is one ugly round head with the “IN Magazine” logo subscribed in it, on a base that looks like a plastic clear snow scraper. It’s just U-G-L-Y.

Gosh darn you two, stop matching! This is not a couple’s retreat, it’s an award show. Mario, did you wear that outfit last year too? I’m telling you, he probably has that whole outfit stashed somewhere in the auditorium and he plans to wear the same outfit over and over each year.

Our two top nang’eks Anne and Aum, two women with different images. Anne sells the respectable, G rated (TV ratings meaning ‘For all audience’), charity work, no sexy magazine spread IMAGE, where as Aum is the opposite. SEX! SEX! We can rate her as “R” like most Thais do anyways.
Comedian Took looks uncomfortable with Aum by her side. I don’t want to be mean but her head looks BIG compared to Aum’s smaller football, oval shaped head. Football vs. Soccer ball, which do you prefer?
Lets not look at the crazy woman with a BOW hairdo, lets look at our little boy Kao. Adorable, no?

Pancake and Weir deserved to be best couple since they dated for a while now and well accepted by many ppl. Aff and Songkran don’t deserved to be on the list because not alot of ppl like them to be other or annoyed by them.

When they say well dressed nang ek, are they referring to what they wore on lakorn or just everyday fashion. If it is base on lakorn, I thought Anne should have won… she was well dressed in Soot Sanaeha and no I am not being bias, she had really nice outfits. Or Janie in Yok Lai Mek, oh gosh she wore some stunning outfits.
I agree with Lynn that Mario’s outfit is so dated. It’s the preppy look (made popular by chuck bass in Gossip girl but 2 seasons ago) and it’s OUT OUT OUT!! Someone find him a stylist! Overall, the rest of them look pretty nice… I smiled at Tooky’s bow hairdo… she’s imitating Lady Gaga and Louis Vuitton and I give her an “A” for guts and gungho! Brave Bravura!
The best couple should be given to another couple… there are so many around… I agree that maybe Amy and Cee should get it for once… laughed at the comment that Aff and Songkran should maybe get it… hahahah! Also, Aum should not get the sexy baby award… She tries too hard… Sexiness comes not from sexy clothes and horrendously thick make-up but from inside… someone not trying hard but having the sexiness exude from the way she carries herself etc…( here Aum tries hard to look younger with her very high school hairdo…but too bad she failed miserably..hahahha – sorry, Aum’s fans) Cris Horwang can be a candidate, for instance. Or even Jennifer Aniston…
I know thai language quite well so I think ‘Hot’ in in this context means popular or kind of rising in popularity more than ‘sexy’. That’s why Toey gets ‘hot girl’ award.
