After 10 years of being out of the spotlight, actor and politician “Sam” Yuranan Pamornmontri has decided to put the spotlight on his family on the Woody Milintajinda’s show, “Woody Gert Ma Kui (eng: Woody born to Chat)”. Sam’s family includes his wife “Mook” Marisa Pamornmontri, his two children: 13 year old year old “Mambo” Yurakarn Pamornmontri (son) and 12 year old “Mind” Yurarisa Pamornmontri (daughter). Sam’s appearance with his family in tow will air this coming Sunday, February 7 on the Modern 9 channel.

On the show, Sam and his two children danced to Super Junior’s smash hit “Sorry, Sorry” as part of Woody’s music video segment. Yes, it took some convincing before Mambo and Mind would take part.

The interview was conducted at the Suan Tip restaurant in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi for two days. The crew noted that atmosphere was very sanook (fun) and friendly. The first day of filming, Sam’s two children were very shy and did not talk much because this was their first time being interviewed for a TV show in 10 years.

After having their meal at the restaurant, Mambo and Mind became more lively, they talked more and joked with each other. Mook, Sam’s wife, who is very close with their children revealed that since their children were born, the family has slept in the same room. “Everyone sleeps in the same room, since our kids were born,” Mook said. I don’t want to be rude or anything but is that healthy? I know they don’t do that for economic reasons.

Sam said he has kept his family out of spotlight since now because he wanted them to live a normal life. Just because he is a celebrity, it’s unfair to make them one too.

“I once said before I married, that I wanted a normal life, a homely one, something simple. I’m not overly possessive about my family, I just want to preserve the state of being a family. I am a public figure, but I think it is unfair to have my family be one also. They want to live a simple life. That is why I don’t take my family out very often to public events.”

Nong Mind and Nong Mambo didn’t want to do the Super Junior parody music video at first because they were shy, but after several urges by their parents, they decided to take part in it.

I find it hilarious that Sam’s son and daughter inherited his eyes and bushy eyebrows.
