Last weekend, mother nature covered our area with 2 ft of snow, a few days later, she did again. I swear, she just hates us. I’m tired of winter, I’m tired of snow, I’m tired of the cold. When will it end!!
Damn you Punxsutawney Phil!
In my parts, we celebrate Groundhog’s day (February 2) by bringing out Punxsutawaney Phil (a groundhog) to predict the weather. If he sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winter. If not, it’s the opposite, early spring. This year, he DID see his shadow and soon after, we were bombarded with a major snow storm that covered our area with 2 ft of snow.
Two days ago, we had a another storm, a blizzard that added more snow to our area. Gr! Snow started falling around 5pm (Rush Hour)Tuesday evening and continued to Wednesday evening. Yesterday, I had off because of the snow. Today, I had to call off because I couldn’t get out of my house.
If you imagined that streets and lanes are waterways, my house is like situated on an island. To the front, we have our main road that connects to our town. To the back, we have a small lane that we share with our 7 neighbors. Usually, I park at the back because there is more room and is more accessible because the main road to the front is extremely busy and hard to back out of. During the winter time, the back lane of my house usually gets plowed. But not this year. Why? I called my borough police department to get some answers and they told me, it might not be a designated road to be plowed. WTF! Every year, you plow it, why not this year? It’s paved too, it’s not a gravel road.
Because of the wind and drifting snow, our back lane is covered in 3-4 ft of snow. Gr, snow stresses me out because I have to worry about my car, my family’s safety, driving in snow, accidents, other drivers who don’t know when to slow down.
In case you didn’t know, I live in one of the Mid-Atlantic states that were slammed by 2 major snow storm in less of a week apart. Damn you snow, I’m tired of you.

My house from Google Maps. I live on an island surrounded by asphalt waterways.
Tuesday evening of the back view of my house and then Wednesday morning on our little lane. That’s no field, that’s a road!

My house from the back, Wednesday morning. Not bad yet, lets wait until the winds pick up.
Before and After of a main road that I travel on daily.

Oh no! The last time i was in snow, it didn’t even measure to this much. I hope you keep safe for the sake of your health.
Awe…I hope it will get better for you. We were supposed to have a snowstorm in MA two days ago and never got it. Very glad! They cancelled schools and everything. I even got to go home early from work.
Guess i’m not the only one fed up with this snowstorm, where i live at we are in a state of emergency, schools are closed for the whole week, metro stopped working excerpt underground rails and if you are unlucky enough to get stuck in the snow and the cops get you? well you get fined because we are in state of emergency and you are not suppose to drive in the freaking snow. Not only am i sick of this snow…..shoveling it really sucks!!.
I totally agree, I live in Wisconsin where winter lasts until May and if you don’t get buried by the snow, you get frost-bite from the bellow-zero weather…but I guess that’s a perk from living in the northern part of the US.
WOW! You guys got some crazy snow. And I am from Minnesota.
Oh, you live on the east too. In nyc, they announced that schools are closed even before the snow started. Yesterday, my balcony was filled with about a feet of snow (it’s still here, I didn’t shovel…)
Oh wow, I never see snow like that. I live in California so if I want to see snow I have to drive 1 and a half hours up the mountain. The above picture with the pine tree look hella nice..haha..
I’m here in WI and we just had a snow storm which sucked, since the weather was getting better but then BOOM, we were bombarded with snow. Can’t wait til spring now.
Well, over here in Texas we don’t get snow AT ALL what so ever. But today, we have 3-5 inches of snow, and to us that’s ALOT! LOL. I’m still in my teens, so for me it’s a good time.
School wasn’t off, and to some people that might not be fun. But it definitely was for me!
Snowball Fights = WIN.
i know how you feel. i am some where in PA and i am sick of the snow. its the worst when i can’t get out and go running. the closed down school everyday but tuesday. i am dreading having to make up the snow days, that’s the one thing teachers dread…extending the school year.
Wow, that’s a lot of snow. The weather here is erratic. One day there’s snow, the next it melts, and then it snows again–Mother Nature is too fickle. T_T
OMG! that is some snow! I’m sick of it too. In the netherlands it keeps snowing aswell though it doesnt reach 2 ft, it’s enough to stop traffic and annoy the hell out of me lol
Ha it’s the complete opposite where I live. Seriously it is so effin hot down here our faces are melting off. Damn I want me some of that snow. It would be a nice change.
Lyn, you must live in the same area as me some where in Virginia or near it…That is how my area looked too…I see the blizzard claimed you guys as victims as well…lol
WOW! That is some crazy snow. I havent seen the snow in like 3 1/2 years now. I use to live in Minnesota now living in Califorina. Where do you live? That is sure some crazt snow storm. LOL.
