Taddao Bussaya Ep 1: Caps

Taddao Bussaya has turned out to be a good lakorn, reasonable pace, likable characters. Lets hope it doesn’t go downhill by the second episode. That seems to be the thread nowadays. Great first episode, unwatchable second episode and so forth.

Look at him giving her attitude when they first formally met. Once she transforms herself into a boy, he won’t remember this moment. His dad is courting her to be his new young wife and he is disgusted by it. What he doesn’t know, she hates it too. This is all her mother’s doing.

Jao Noi and Taddao are both late for an appointment. Taddao woke up late,  Jao Noi is stuck in traffic because of a parade.

As they are crossing a bridge, one is looking at his watch, the other looks down at the things she is carrying, and accidentally they bumped into each other. She falls to the ground and he helps her up and apologizes. Before she looks up, she sees his foot on her DRAWING. She yelps and pushes him away violently. He was a little startled and was like, okay, that was odd. Trying to mend things, he apologizes to her and asked to see her drawing. She pushed him back again and starts yelling,”don’t touch it, it’s because of you my drawing is all ruined. I worked on for a week. Why don’t you watch where you’re going?”

He remained relaxed and apologizes again. “I was in a rush, the truth is, your drawing is only dirtied a little bit.”

“How do you know it’s only a little bit? This is very important to me. What if it was your portrait and I stepped all over it, how would you feel?” Taddao fires back at him.

Personally I think Taddao was overacting. He didn’t mean to knock her down. She wasn’t looking either. Both were at fault.

Jao Noi was feeling the atmosphere with Taddao, so he tried to excuse himself. “Lets just say I’m sorry, that’s all.” But Taddao who was really overacting stopped him. “Don’t you think that is too easy, a simple apology like that?”

Jao Noi:”Then what do you want?”
He then stopped himself. “Aw, I should ask that again. How much do you want? People nowadays, they sure can make a living easily. You have probably been making money off tourists for a very long time now, huh? From your appearance, you’re still a kid, you should be concentrating on school ,so that you will find a good job when you graduate.”

He takes out his wallet, bring out some bills. “1000 baht ($30), you can consider that a donation to your education.”

BYE! He runs off, leaving her standing alone in anger. She has been insulted.

Jao Noi reaches his destination, a restaurant. He looks around and doesn’t see his friend. Then quietly  a woman sneaks up on him. “Who did you make an appointment with Jao Yod Kwan?”

He turns around with a smile, “Saengkham!” He hugs her. Because they are in Thailand, she feels uncomfortable. “Let’s not, this is embarrassing.”

He tells her he misses her a lot, they haven’t seen each other in 3 years.

Saengkham:”It’s been 3 years since you refuse to come back to Thailand, do you know you have been very cruel to me?”

He apologizes to her. “you know too well, I hate seeing my father, you should understand that.”

Saengkham:”I understand, if I didn’t I wouldn’t have waited for you this long. But from this day on, I refuse to let you go ever again.”

He promised her that he will never leave again and they pinkie swear on that promise. “A promise is a promise,” she tells him.

Taddao finally makes it to her destination to a temple to see her father. Father and daughter are very loving.

Taddao’s father. “Sweetie, why have you come late this time?”

Taddao smiling:”I’m only late 5 minutes.”

Her father lovingly, “5 minutes is still very important to me.”

Since this is a secret meeting, he asked how much time they can ‘hang out’ together. Today, they have plenty of time because when she snuck out, her mother wasn’t even home.

He knows where Taddao’s mother has been and says, “she is so addicted to the casino, she doesn’t even want to come home? The money I gave you, is that enough?”

Taddao tells him in a fibbing manner, “it’s enough. It’s more than enough. You don’t need to worry. Mom has never  made me feel burden. Normally, mom is a good-hearted person. Whatever I ask of her, she never forbids Only one thing, I can’t ask her about you. If she knew I snuck out to see you, she will be terrifyingly angry.”

Her mother comes home early than expected from gambling and is hungry. She asked her maid to get food for her. The maid said there is nothing and she has no money for the market. Since Taddao’s mother is dead broke from gambling, she suggested to her maid to get the money from Taddao. One problem, Taddao is not home.

In a desperate need for cash, Taddao’s mother goes into her room to search for money. Instead of finding what she needed, she sees a calendar with that day’s date circled with a brief side note: “Dad is coming ”

She is livid.

At the park, she shows her father the portrait of him she has drawn. It was meant to be a gift for him, but she feels it is not perfect enough because of what happened earlier. Jao Yod Kwan stepping on it, she wants  draw another one for him. Her said she doesn’t have to, he likes this one and praised her on her art skills. Once she graduate, he is sure she will find a good company to work for.

Solemnly, she tells him she is not going to graduate. Her father is a little startled. She only has 2 years left and he will pay for her education, he blames his ex-wife for this.  Quickly, Taddao defends her mother and said her mother had nothing to do with this.

Her father pats her on the back, “Endure it my daughter, I’m sorry for not being there for you for all those years and making you endure hardship. I’m going to re-write my will and give everything you.”

Taddao is a little surprise.

“I’m going to give you everything as you are my eldest child, even my estate (he calls it House of Bussaya). I just ask for one thing, in case something happens to me, I want you to watch over Taem. Though he is your younger brother from a different mother, he is still your brother.”

Taddao:”why are you saying this?”

Before he could answer, bam, his ex-wife, Taddao’s mother comes into the scene. She is livid and calls out for Taddao.

Taddao is dragged home by her mother. In the front yard, mother and daughter fought.

“I’m asking you for the last time to stop seeing that man ever again! Do you understand me?”

Taddao questioning her mother:”Why mom? He is my father!”

Taddao’s mother:”He is not your father! Even the last name ‘Bussaya’, you’re not even using it. You’re Taddao Seeyanon instead.”

Taddao:”If you want to distance yourself from dad, then you do it on your own. Regardless, I’m his daughter. My bloodline is Bussaya, you can never change that.”

Taddao runs off. Her father approaches her mother. “Our daughter is right. You can try and separate us, but you can’t change the truth. Taddao is my daughter.”

Taddao continues to be livid, she resentful of the past, he abandoned and now he wants to claim responsibility.

“Why are you taking up your fatherly responsibility now? You abandoned us 10 plus years ago because looking back. You don’t know what it feels like to be chased away like a homeless dog.”

Taddao’s father:”If only you endured it a little longer and decided not to leave then….”

Taddao’s mother shouting: “My endurance has its limit, your mother insulted and abused me and that wasn’t even enough, she even found you a new wife! She tried everything to chase me out of the Bussaya household and she succeeded.”

—damn, she has a reason to be angry. Poor woman.

Taddao’s father:”Back then, if you told my mother you were pregnant, things wouldn’t be like this.”

Taddao’s mother:”She wouldn’t care about my daughter. Deun was pregnant too.”

Taddao’s father”Jitree, I’ve been searching for you for a long time. Not until you came to Chiangmai did I find you. And I have been coming to see our daughter since then. Jitree, I’m very concern about you and our daughter.”

He takes her hand. “If there is anything I can do, I will do it.”

Still pissed, she pulls her back and slaps him. Damn! “Get out of my house now!” She shouted at him.

“Don’t ever come back  and don’t ever see Taddao again! Taddao doesn’t need a father. My child, I can take of her.  Don’t interfere with my life again. LEAVE now! ” She added.

This was such an intense scene.

Awww, Taddao chases after her father and runs up to hug him. “When will we see each other again?”

Punch is really good! I know she acted before in a film but I didn’t expect her to be this good.

Taddao’s dad tells her he will call her back, if there is an emergency she can call him. If she doesn’t hear from him for a long time, she can contact Puang, a good friend of his, a person he trust the most.

Taddao gives her father another tight hug, “I have been missing you, do you have to go?”

Taddao’s dad:”It won’t be for too long. It won’t be for too long. I promise.”

Another hug! Punch has a lot of chemistry with her actor parents. I kinda feel like he was like her father in real life.

Now we are at pra’ek’ house and pra’ek’s dad is kinda of a manwhore. EW! Look at that floozy he hanging around at his house. She comes out, sits on his lap, and urged him to come back inside so that they can do something. Guess what that something is. OH my god! Thank goodness, he was annoyed and said you can leave now, I had enough. HAHAHAHAHAHah. To chase her away, he gives her MOO-LAh!

What a scene, his son (our pra’ek) and Saengkham walks in just in time to see the whole transaction. He was not pleased.

Jao Pattana (Pra’ek’s dad) invites Saengkham to sit with him. Saengkham compliments Khun Pattana for still looking very healthy. He tells her that he is healthy because he knows how to make himself happy.

Jao Noi looks down and shakes his head. “Now that happiness, how much did that cost you.”–Ew. he asking, dad I know you find happiness in sleeping with prostitutes, how much have you spend on them already?

Jao Pattana:’How much I spend,what I spend it on, it’s still my money.”

Jao Noi:”Dad, I know you have a lot of money. You can use it and be able to make more. But your reputation, once that is lost, it’s difficult to get it back.”

Jao Pattana:”You don’t need to tell you. You know too well I love my reputation.”

Father and son tension much? E!

To calm things down, Jao Pattana changes the topic to marriage. When will Jao Noi and Saengkham  get marry?”

Jao Pattana looking at Saengkham:”Middle of the year, how does that sound? I will go ask your elders for your hand in marriage for my son, this week, how about that?”

Jao Noi stops him. Jao Pattana doesn’t understand why not. “You said after you graduate you were going to get marry?”

Jao Noi:’When I’m ready to marry, I will marry. You don’t need to tell me, I can decide on my own.”

At this point, Jao Pattana stands up. He brings up new stuff to fight about. He is still pretty livid that his son studied agriculture instead of business administration when he went to study aboard for 3 years.

Jao Pattana:”I have planned everything for you and you ruined all my plans for you.”

Jao Noi:”It’s my life. I can do whatever I want. What right do you have?”

Jao Pattana:”I have the right because I’m your father. I have invested so much money on you. Do you know how much that was?’

Jao Noi:’Aw, so the problem lies in money. Fine! I will pay you back!”

It was getting really intense, so Saengkham had to jump in and say, that’s enough. Briefly there was silence and the two men glare at each other. Without warning, Jao Pattana starts shouting, “how can you talk to me this way, I’m your father. What right do you have beat down heart? “

Jao Noi:”In your eyes, I have never good enough. Fine! I will prove it  to you that what I have learned has value.”

[Ish! I don't remember the father and son pair's relationship in the original "Taddao Bussaya" being this bad. They seem chubby compared to this father and son pair.]

Jao Noi decides to end his visit and told Saengkham they are eating elsewhere.

When Taddao’s father comes home, he is confronted by his wife Deun, she knows he hasn’t been to Phuket, he has gone to Chiangmai to see Jitree, his ex-wife. He denies and tells her truthfully that he has gone up there to see his daughter Taddao and has never seen Jitree, but once. Nonetheless, Deun gives him a warning, if he goes and see her again, she will cause hell for Jitree and her daughter Taddao.

“Where ever she lives, I will go there and make her life miserable. Wherever she goes, she will never be able to stay there.” She warns him.

Calmingly he tells her, “you don’t have to do that. I will not go and see Taddao in Chiangmai again.”

She smiles with satisfactions and then he adds, “I will bring my daughter to the House of Bussaya.”

Slowly, her smiles fades. HA. “I will not let anything separate me and my daughter again.”

Ouch and like a true gangster, he nonchalantly walked passed her.

Inside the house, he pleads with his mother to allow Taddao to live with them. She forbids it because she doesn’t feel sure that Taddao is her granddaughter. He argues that if she sees Taddao, she will know that Taddao is part of their family. Still his mother forbids it. “If you bring her here, our ties as mother and son end.” She warns him. “And I don’t want you to talk about that girl around me again.” She adds. Old lady what the hell is wrong with you.

His wife who happened to be there too agrees. “I agree with mother. Before she met you, you can believe she was a 100 percent Miss Pageant party girl. She has probably been with many men that we will never know of. How can you have your mother believe that he daughter is your child?”

Taddao’s father doesn’t really care what she had to say. “Taddao will be a relative in this family.”

Deun:”Don’t you care about what your mother thinks?”

He pulls a fast one on her. “Deun, you probably don’t know this, my mother has signed all of her inheritance to me already. I can do whatever I want. Though right now, Taddao can’t come back to the Bussaya household, but in the future, Taddao will be the owner of this house as in the status that she is my eldest child.”

Deun:”Absolutely not! The house of Bussaya will be for Taem and Tom only.”

Din (Taddao’s father) hinting :”Don’t worry, Taddao will not forget her younger siblings who share a bloodline with her. But if they don’t share a bloodline with her, she doesn’t have an obligation to them. Don’t think that I don’t know. I know everything. I will prove to mom which child as the Bussaya bloodline. Until that day, Taddao will have a chance to come live in this house.”

The back story on them is that Deun was pregnant with another man’s child before she married Din. He knows that Tom, their assumed eldest daughter is not his biological daughter. Their son, Taem is his biological son.

Later that night, he re-writes his will and gives everything to Taddao.

The next morning, Khun Din is going on a business and his son Taem, crazy wife Deun, and  his daughter Tom send him off. You can see that Khun Din favors his biological son Taem more than Tom. He is only being nice to her for pleasantry sake. I think deep down inside, he loathes her but she is innocent on all of this. It’s his wife Deun who created this mess. After so many years of loving her and raising her as his own, he finds out she is not even his biological daughter.

After the two kids scurried off, he gives his wife Deun a warning, he is going to bring Taddao back and she should be prepared for that. From her bulging eyeballs and “I’m gonna cut you” stare down,  she wasn’t too happy about that. She is scary. Even Puang, Khun Din’s chauffeur was scared.

Awe, Khun Din dies. Someone (cough, cough Deun) messed with his brakes and he has an accident. The accident happened just as he is calling Taddao.

Taddao receives the call from her father, she finds it odd that he is not saying anything. After several “hello”, “can you hear me”, she calls him back. When he doesn’t pick up, she gives up because her maid is calling her.

Everyone is in mourning after Khun Din’s death. At the funeral, Deun is totally play acting. She tells her younger siblings to kill her because she doesn’t want to live without Khun Din. Oh please lady, you planned all of this.

She faints in her younger brother Witoon’s arm.

Meanwhile with Jitree, she was having a tough time at the gambling place until some random man offered to lend her some. I don’t get her, she is rather stupid. You don’t know the guy and he is lending you money, isn’t that very fishy. Hmmm?

Back at the funeral, Jao Noi went to pay respect to Khun Din, Jao Noi is good friends with Witoon, Khun Deun’s younger brother. Seeing Jao Noi there, Tom runs over and hugs him, which made him very uncomfortable. She is really obnoxious. She was like, “oh my gosh, Jao Noi, my dad passed away. blah, blah. what are we going to do.” She is like the Thai Valley girl. Sorry to sound racist, if she was white, she would be overly tan, blonde, and saying ‘like’ and ‘omg’ constantly.

Deun’s ex-hubby and Tom’s biological father also came for the funeral. Deun was pretty upset and told him, I will transfer the funds to your checking account, you don’t need to come. He told her, he rather get the money in person because he wants to see her again. Thought 10 plus years have passed, he still thinks of her. Now that he knows, they had a love child together, he can never forget her. Ew! Old people love, gross. Sorry, I’m just joking.

Deun was disgusted by his confession of love and ordered him to leave, if not, she won’t pay him. With that threat, he challenges her. If he doesn’t get paid, she isn’t either. He will tell everyone what she paid him to do.

Deun gives in and said she has every intention of paying him but she asked for one thing, their daughter Tom must not know the truth. “Tom must not know who her father is. It’s enough that I have fallen into hell but don’t pull our child into hell too.”

Ha, in desperate need for money again, Khun Jitree is making Taddao enter the Chiangmai beauty pageant which Taddao doesn’t want to do so and voiced her opinions.

Khun Jitree grabbed her daughter’s and said, “You will participate. You will have to win too because if yo win. For first prize, you can get up to 10, 000 baht (300 USD). Several pageants, several thousands of baht. You will have to do it, do you hear me.”

She orders her maid Tiang to start the scrubbing process.

Taddao runs away. When Tiang catches up with Taddao, she tells her to just do it, her mother is not going to stop.

Deun pays a visit to see Jitree and Taddao to tell them. She only sees Jitree, Taddao is being chased down by Tiang at that moment.

Deun tells Jitree that Khun Din has passed away, they cremated him yesterday. Jitree was angry that someone has come and told them now. Deun rudely answers her, “I’m telling you now, I even have enough respect for you to tell you face to face. I wanted to clear, I wanted to clear everything regarding you and the Bussaya household, so that will end already. Khun Din died in a car accident. He didn’t write a will, thus everything goes to me.”

Deun stands up, insults Jitree and tells her to never contact the Bussaya household again because they have no ties there. Deun leaves and Taddao walks back to see her mother in distress. Jitree does an ugly cry and doesn’t tell her daughter what is wrong. Seeing that her mother is in complete disarray, Taddao gives in passionately. She will participate in the pageant to make her mother because she doesn’t want to see her mother cry ever again.

As part of the beauty pageant, Taddao participate in a parade. She’s cute. Like really cute, in a very natural Thai way. I thought it was a cool parade.

At the pageant, Jitree introduces Taddao to Jao Pattana, the sponsor for the pageant. Taddao knows her mother is sucking up to the sponsor to get a title for her. She feels uncomfortable.

Jao Noi goes to the event also. He is not too happy to see his father seating next to a younger girl, he assumes something shady is going down, like a mother trying to sell her daughter.

He interrupts them by insulting them. Taddao looks up and see Jao Noi, she has seen this fool before. But where? Oh the bridge.

As Jao Pattana is about to introduce Jitree to Jao Noi…”this is Khun Jitree”, Jao Noi cuts him off, “she is a skilled merchant. Today, what are you trying to sell to my father?”

Jitree:”It’s not like that, I just came to introduce my daughter to Jao Pattana. Since he has guests now, we will leave because Taddao has one more round to go through.”

Standing up on stage, Taddao thinks back about what Jao Noi said to her at the bridge. He accused her of being a swindler. Tonight, he is accusing her of offering herself to his father.She feels insulted as she looks at him from the stage.”That’s going too far, ” she says to herself. Jao Noi doesn’t even look at her.

Yea, guess who won. Of course, Taddao won, which makes Jao Noi very annoyed.

–Por was really cute in this scene. Loved his annoyed look.

Jitree uses the cash money from the pageant to pay off her lender, but it’s not enough, there was interest. If she doesn’t pay up soon, he shows her what he will do to her if she doesn’t play up by playing with a small knife. Jitree gets the hint, if she doesn’t pay up, she is gonna get it.

Feeling desperate again, how many times is she going to be desperate, Jitree takes her daughter Taddao to see Jao Pattana again to thank him for helping with the pageant. He compliments Taddao on her beauty and Jitree continues to suck up to Jao Pattana. She wants to borrow money.

Taddao is sent away as the two adults discuss money. Jitree wants to borrow 100,000 baht ($3000USD), he laughs at the amount and says, I can give you more, 10x more. Jitree is startled by the amount because it’s too much. She can’t repay 1 million baht (30,000USD) and he tells her, ‘who said you have to pay me back?”

Jao Pattana:”I want to give you 5 million baht ($150,600USD), I want to use it as a dowry. I want Taddao, I want her as my wife.”

Jao Pattana tells his son Jao Noi he is going to marry Taddao, Jao Noi objects completely, look at his bulging neck vein. Jao Pattana doesn’t care if his son objects. “I’m not asking you for your permission, I’m just tell you.”

Man, Jao Pattana is a gangster, he just does what he wants.

Jao Noi stuttering:”But but, you don’t even know where she came from.”

Jao Pattana:”That’s not important. What’s important is that I have never been this smitten by any other girl like Taddao. I’m not gonna lose her.”

Jao Noi can’t believe his ears. “But dad, if you like her really. You should just keep her has your kept woman or mistress. Why do you have to marry her? Why are you doing this to yourself. Even the stupidest person knows that girl is trying get money from you.”

Jao Pattana:’Oh, it’s just that issue? That is why you’re angry. You’re afraid, Taddao is going to steal your inheritance from you.”

Jao Noi:”I’m not concern about the inheritance. The inheritance that is most important is our family name that we have build for so long. Now it’s going to be destroyed by your stupidity.”

Jao Pattana stands up:”Don’t bring up our family as a reason, you have never cared about our family name before. So what Noi, before I marry Taddao, I will take care of your inheritance for you. You will have everything that is meant to be yours.”

Jao N:”No need sir! I don’t need your money, not even one baht. You can give it all to that child bride of yours. I want to give a warning, the day you lose everything, your happiness will end also. Until that day, you will remember what I have said.”

He leaves.

Really, these two men really need therapy to work out their relationship problems.

Taddao hears about the marriage proposal and rejects it. She don’t want to marry no old dude, even for 5 million  baht, 10 million baht ($300,000USD) worth of jewelry, and will pay for the wedding. And he has give her 2 million baht (60,250USD) in advance also.To force her daughter to marry Jao Pattana, Jitree tells her that she has spent it all to clear her debt. “If you don’t want to marry him, you find a way to pay him back then. Then I will agree to stop the wedding.”

Taddao takes on her challenge, “Fine, I will borrow it from Dad. Dad will help me for sure. Dad doesn’t want me to marry period because he is concern about my education, so that I will have a good future. Dad is not like you who is harming my future.”

Jitree in an emotional state:”That’s right, I’m not as good as your dad. But at least I have never abandoned you.”

Taddao:’Dad has never abandoned me, just at the beginning, he couldn’t fine me that’s all.”

As she is walking away, her mother tells her that her father has passed away. Say what?

“He has passed away and he has not given you anything. He has given everything to his second wife. Do you know, today, we have nothing, I don’t know when we will starve to death, that is why I’m trying to solve our problem by trying to find a good man to take care of you. Why don’t you see my good intentions?

Taddao doesn’t believe it and called her mother a liar.

Taddao calls her father’s house to get confirmation that he has really passed away. Deun picks up the call from her servant and blankly said Khun Din has passed away. She hangs up. Taddao wanting to learn more, calls again. She wants to know more about her father’s death. Deun asked who she was, if it is a random person begging for money, she should just forget it. At this point, Taddao tells her who she is. She is Khun Din’s daughter and she wants to know what happened to her father in more detail.

Punch is really good in this scene. I’m really impressed by this girl.

Taddao:”My dad is really dead. I have no one left.”

Tiang:”You still have me, I will care for you.”

Taddao:”Dad said he was bringing me to live with him. Why am I so unfortunate? I don’t even have the opportunity to live with my father. If I knew this would happen, I would have never let him go.”

Damn Punch is good, she is natural onscreen. I’m loving this girl.

Though Taddao is scared about her uncertain future, she refuses to marry Jao Pattana.

“I’m my father’s daughter, I will refuse to sell my integrity. I will fight it until the end.”

The next day, her mother drags her out to go see Jao Pattana, she refuses to go. “Mom, stop, I’m not going to see him, I’m a person you know. I’m not a commodity to be sold to others. I will get you the money but not using this method. “I refuse to trade my body for money for others to look down on.”

Just as she speaking, evil lender guy pays a visit. Jitree is frighten by his appearance. “I thought I paid all my debt already.”

The evil lender guy eyes Taddao lustfully and said he just came to visit. When he left, Jitree tells her daughter the situation, she is scared of that man. If Taddao refuses to marry Jao Pattana, she would still owe money to that man and he is hardcore scary.

With no options left, Taddao decides to go see Jao Pattana with her crazy, gambling addict mum mum. As the adults talk, Taddao is another world thinking of away out.

Jitree:”Taddao will do her best to be a good wife to you.”

Jao Pattana:”She only has to take care of me. Other household chores, she doesn’t have to worry about them. I want her to come live with me in happiness. I know that we don’t know each other well that is why I had to prove my sincerity by setting up our wedding, by signing a marriage license according to the law, so that you can feel assured that I’m sincere and confident with you.”

Taddao can’t take it anymore and asked, “Don’t you want to ask me if I want sincerity or confidence from you?”–Burn! That wiped the smile off his face.

Jao Pattana:”Ow? Khun Jitree said you don’t object.”

He turns to look at Jitree. “What is this?”

Jitree plays it off. “There is no problem. Taddao is just worried the wedding is too soon, she is worried she won’t be able to prepare herself fast enough.”

Dude must be really stupid to see that Taddao is absolutely uncomfortable and itching to get out of there as fast as possible.

Jitree and Taddao have  a little chat as Jao Pattana excuses herself to get something.

Jitree:”You said you understand me now, what was that all about?”
