Kwan is difficult on the set of “Heavenly Swan”
I have seen the video of “Kwan” Usamanee Waitayanon refusing to jump into the water as instructed by the director of her upcoming lakorn for Ch7, “Heavenly Swan (Hong Fah)” and the director complaining, “you don’t want to cry and now you don’t want to jump in?” It was filmed and hopefully Kwan is not stupid enough to act spoiled on camera. Kwan has a negative image, is she stupid enough to continue that trend? She is known as the “goddess of scandals and feuds”.
Kwan said she was joking and she is not being difficult. You have to wonder and judge for yourself. You can watch the video here. Sorry for non-Thai speakers, it’s in Thai only. Kwan, hopefully joking, explained that you don’t have to do everything realistically, the camera can be used to deceive the viewers. She also said, you have to examine time and cost. If it is worth it, then you do it.
“The thing is when you’re acting in a lakorn, you have to examine what is important. If it is not necessary to jump into the water, you have to consider whether is wasteful for the set or whether it is wasting time. You have to consider time and whether it is worth the cost. If it is not worth the time or cost, then you don’t do it.”
Tle Thanapol, who sat next to Kwan when she said that, looked dumbfounded observed by one Thai netizen and said, “really?”
According to Kwan, she wouldn’t dare to act difficult, Khun Daeng (head honcho of Ch7) might not give her anymore work.
About refusing to jump into the water on cue, Kwan said this:”The director didn’t tell me to jump in. As an actress, I have to listen to whatever the director says. But he didn’t tell me to. Why would I jump in for? I don’t know where this news came from. If this news was leaked, it would have been from someone on set. But I don’t think anyone on set would want to harm any actor or actresses ,especially Kantana (a production company). I grew up in Kantana, since I was kid. There is probably no one there who would want to harm me.”
“Now as for the crying when they instructed me, there have been incidences of that. But I was just joking, when that time came, I did cry. Every lakorn, don’t you see me cry? For every scene, I always say, I don’t want to cry. But in the end, I do it. Because it is my responsibility. What else do you want? Occasionally, I’m just a kid who jokes around. When it’s time to work, I work. As for the matter for not wanting to cry and me saying to everyone on set that I don’t want to do this or don’t want to cry now because I was tired, something along those lines. But in the end, I did do it. Because it is my job. It’s work for the public. If I don’t do it, Aunt Daeng, won’t give me work. That won’t do, thus I have to do it.”
–Hold up, did she just refer to Khun Daeng, her boss, as Aunt (bpaa). To me, that sounded really disrespectful. You call a market lady ‘bpaa (auntie)’ or your biological aunt ‘bpaa’ or some random older lady who you don’t know ‘bpaa’, not your boss to whom you have a strain relationship with, according to the media.
Kwan doesn’t mind these types of news at all. “To have news like this, it’s a good thing. We can all get use to it and understand that this is a normal thing for me. Majority of the time on set, I have known these people (crew members) since I was a kid so I feel at ease. I’m not scared that they will think that I’m difficult. On set, all of the crew members know that if the director instructs me to leap over a building, jump into the water, I will do it. Because there is safety set for the actors and actresses to do so.”
People at Manager news website don’t seem to believe her. One Thai netizen wrote: “From what I saw on the 9 Entertainment show, that’s not right. The director said to jump in but you didn’t and the director mumbled. Your pra’ek even made a dumbfounded face at you, it’s not what you are saying now. Go back and watch the show. If you can’t remember, then you must be a kid who has Alzheimer.”
Another Thai netizen said: “Kwan is not difficult, she is just spoiled.”
Thoughts?

Chinese fan, CALM DOWN! you say you believe what Kwan says, well as much as I like Kwan i have to concede with the fact that the video and translation speaks for itself. You are loyal and that’s great but you just contradicted yourself (yes you spammer)when you said NOT TO JUDGE Kwan since we don’t KNOW HER…well, DO YOU KNOW HER PERSONALLY to vouch for her real attitude??
If you are a true fan you should pray that she matures and accept her flaws not defend her when she did something wrong!

Know that Kwan has many fans in China? or Taiwan? Well maybe it’s just the same person using different names…. hahahah! Happy for Kwan though, cos it has made her faithful fans stick up blindly for her. We are in THAILAND, and we KNOW her character!
March 11th, 2010 at 4:28 am
wow she’s got a lot of international fans here! As a Thai, I’m glad.
But yeah, her works do it well with that but in reality, she’s not an innocent young girl at all. In Thailand, it’s not like this. Thai people live in the same place as her, that’s why they know what the real Kwan is.
@Sara, you shouldn’t believe what I told you anyway. But keep watching what will happen next about Kwan. Her true story will be more fun than her lakorn, I swear!

I can’t watch the link either. Is there another link?
March 11th, 2010 at 4:26 am
If she doesn’t want to act realistic, why would I waste my time watching her lakorns? I rather go watch Ann’s lakorns since she always gave her best.

Here is what Kwan has to say;
“The director didn’t tell me to get in the water. I’m an actress, I have to follow the director’s orders but the director didn’t tell me to do it so I don’t know why I need to jump in the river”
“Where did this news come from? It sounds like it came from someone on the set but people on the set shouldn’t be harming other cast members. Especially if they work for Kantana”
“I practically grew up with Kantana, I’ve been here ever since I was a child, I don’t think any one from here would want to hurt me”
“As for the news claiming that I refused to cry on the set, well I have said no sometimes I was just kidding. When it’s time to cry, I always cry. Do you see me cry in my lakorns? I always say I wouldn’t cry before my crying scenes but in the end I always cry because it’s my job”
“Don’t take me seriously, sometimes I’m just a kid and I joke around but when it’s time to work. I always work”
“I always say no more I’m not going to cry before my crying scenes. I get tired, but in the end I have to do it, it’s my job and it’s part of team work. If I don’t perform Auntie Dang won’t give me any work”
Kwan is not afraid producers will be put off from hiring her as a result of bad rumors
“It’s okay. I think it’s good that this news went out, so now people will know that this is normal for me. Normally on the set of my lakorns I always get to work with the same people. People I’ve know since I was a child so I’m comfortable with them. I’m not afraid they will criticize me”
“And say if the director wanted me to jump off a cliff or a river, I will do it”

I like Kwan, but after seeing the video and reading the translation I concur that she was being a brat. How can you refuse your director outright?? if she was joking I don’t think she would look like that..It’s very rude.
There are some celebs her age who are respectful and mature so I hope she’d take a page out of their book before it’s too late. She should remember that nobody’s indispensable in showbiz.
