Compared to other awards show in Thailand, the Nataraja awards was a pretty classy affair. No one wore jeans and the setting didn’t look cheap. The trophy is something I would want as a decorative piece in my house, it was a beautiful gold trophy of a Thai traditional dancer.
The event brought tears to many peoples’ eyes twice, first with “Aof” Pongpat Wachirabunjong’s acceptance speech and the second was when Nok Sinjai, Nok Jariya, and Aof Pongpat sang the song “Kwarm Fun An Song Sot (The highest dream)”. Before singing, the three pledged their allegiance to the King and asked the people of Thailand to stop the disagreement and fighting. The song was profound and it caused many to weep.
It wasn’t all gloom and tears, Anne Thongprasom did bring in laughs when she didn’t realize which lakorn she won the award for. She was too excited. Last night, she won the best actress award for her role in “Soot Sanaeha (A recipe for Love)”, but Anne mistaken thought she won it for her role in “Borisud Bumbut Kaen(The Revenge Therapy Company)” and started thanking her co-star Aum Atichart and the crew for that lakorn. Then someone from the audience clued her in that she was thanking the wrong people. Anne then said, ‘what series did I win this award for?’ Everyone laughed and “Captain” Puthanate Hongmanop who presented the Best Actress award, showed her the card. It was for “Soot Sanaeha (A recipe for Love)”. OPPS!

Captain is like, hey Anne, Look here. He laughed too and re-read his card. TOO funny.
“Singto” Singharat Chanphakdee, and ‘Ploy’ Patsorn Kongmeesuk, her dress is all over the place.
Grand, Vill, Bie, and Fluke, Ch5 peeps.
“BOY” Pisanu Nimsakul and “Nat” Myria Benedetti, for some odd reason, I hate it when she wears black. The color ages even more, I’m not saying she is old. Just the color makes her look old.
Mark!
Tle and then the young cast of “Ching Chang”, “Ball” Vittawats Sigklumpong and “Pookhai” Phongsiree Banluewong. Pang is to the far right, she has a tattoo?
CH3′s Boy, Pat, Alex, and Taew.
I was wrong, someone did wear jeans, it was Mark Prin from “Ngao Jai Luang Ruk”.
Chakrit Yamnam is still dressing as he is walking up the steps to the building. His “Fai Amata” co-star Sonia Cooling is there with him in black. She tall and draped like a goddess.
“Namfon” Patcharin Judrabounpol and other Ch3′s minor actresses.
Ch5 stars cheering for their boss Khun Boy up on stage.

Hey, it’s Por and Ploy.

When they were singing.

Wow, the water works.
What’s so funny guys?
More pictures here.

Hey, I want to know what is so funny?
Last pic..Ann is so funny.
I agree with you Lola, this is the best award show by far.. I was watching the interview awhile back and one of the committees did mention that this award show will be very formal similar to the Oscar, but I think it’s more like the Golden Globe atmosphere… it’s very well done.
Aahahha Ann is so funny and yes, Adorable also !
that’s funny.
Very sad! but i’m glad that there is joy there as well.
Everyone looks so handsome and elegant! I like Ploy Patsorn’s dress!
it’s soo dang gorgeous! lol
Congrats to everyone there! too bad Ken didn’t make it ):
i would love to see him there.
the place was gorgeous also! i really like this award!
People don’t need to ask ann to go to award shows anymore, she automatically wins every award ALL the time, omg everyone is soo gorgeous and pretty!!! Except for Nat Myria (no offence)
Haha. Anne is too cute!
Mark and Mint both look adorable.
LOL Oh Anne, you silly goose.
It’s cute how she laughed it off, that’s funny.
Ah they all look so handsome and pretty.
Mark looks nice in what he wore. That handsome stud.
Mark in jeans, who cares! He looks mighty fine, with class, not cheap at all! *.*
The ladies are all so elegant. I love Pancake dress, simple and elegant, and I especially love its green color.
And Pok! I sooo miss her! Hope she’ll be back on screen soon…>.<
Anne is just too adorable for words. It showed that no wonder how many awards she won, she is still nervous and excited. So cute to see her embarrassed. She made people laugh…. they needed it too.
HAHA, Anne is so freakin adorable! She was so cute when they told her she was mistaken, she was so shy and embarrassed and quickly thanked the correct people and hurried off the stage. I love that part, it was just to cute for words…Definitely classy and elegant award show. Anne brought the laughs, Aof brought the tears…All I can do is wish the best for Thailand.
It’s great how they addressed the issues going on in the country rather than ignoring it even though they are at an award ceremony. It is also admirable how they try to continue to carry on the events (i.e. award ceremony, noon’s engagement) despite what is going on rather than falling into fear and holding back their lives. It is when everyone becomes fearful that everything becomes chaotic.
Although it seems like actors/actress sometimes don’t realize the seriousness of the situation by the way they’re still living their lifestyle, I think the entertainment industry is very important to everyone especially during tough times by lifting up the morale amongst the people. For example, entertainment was widespread during the World Wars and even brought about some famous ppl. You have to give give some props to these actors for lightening up the mood for a momentary period away from the chaos.
wow! they really went all out for this award show. it looks very classy and is by far the best looking awards show that i’ve seen for thai entertainment. seriously, their awards shows are pretty dinky looking most of the time. oh, no insult intended! =)
Oyy! Anne was sooo freaking adorable lol.
Everyone looked great, even Mark in jeans. Many of the ladies’ dresses are quite lovely. It had me scrolling back up to look at it again, lol. The award is beautiful. <3
OMO, Anne was so nervous, you could just tell by the way she spoke. LMAO. She’s so funny. They even said the lakorn when they announced her the winner, no? HAHA
I did get to see the touching performance this morning. It was a really great collaboration. <3
I agree completely, Sarp Poosa had amazing costumes. The traditional Thai clothes were just all really lovely, not to mention the “cursed” fabric itself.
dang i like that pic of charkit tho hahahahah
& OMB! anne! ahhaha how embassin! hahahahah
hahaha…. Chakrit looks like he rolled out of bed and came straight to the awards show!!!!!!!
