I saw the teaser “Rabum Duang Dao (Star Dance)” a few weeks ago, it scared the living ‘who’ out of me. Each character seemed shady and despicable, even the nang’ek–shaking her tush and doing a lesbian kiss. Oh my lord, faints.
Meuy, the nang’ek played by singer “Lydia” Sarunrat Visutthithada, won’t be your typical prissy nang’ek. She is a good person, but does not act ‘sandee’, like a good girl. She will shake her tush, show off her cleavage to succeed in the Thai entertainment industry. Her image is of a sexy tough girl. Really she is not like that at all. She is a just a poor girl trying to make it big, so that she can take care of her mother and younger siblings.
On the other side of the spectrum, we have Namwan, our villain played by Ploy Chermarn. Namwan is pretty, rich, and a famous leading actress. She has been in many lakorns and is very popular among audiences. On the surface, she seems like a good person. Behind the scenes, she has many secrets and is just crazy. Namwan has slept her to the top, she only associates with people who will make her be a star. Namwan is having an affair with a famous plastic surgeon name Watit (Thanakorn Posayanon) to maintain her beauty. She sleeps with him in order to keep it a secret that she has had plastic surgery done before.
Namwan’s archenemy is Rommee (Aerin Siripon), a famous actress too. Rommee usually takes on the sexy girl roles. Rommee and Namwan do not get along at all because Rommee knows Namwan’s true self–that Namwan is a faker and not as innocent as she pretends to be. Their hostile relationship worsened when Meuy enters the Thai Entertainment industry. Meuy and Rommee become fast friends and Namwan becomes even more ticked off with Rommee. Meuy is new and fresh, a rising star. Namwan sees Meuy as a threat to her stardom and does everything possible to tarnish Meuy’s image and career.
In the midst of all this girl on girl drama, we have reporter Payut (Oil Thana). Though everyone sees him as just another shabby reporter, he is not. His family is pretty wealthy, his father owns a large newspaper company, he just out in the field learning the family trade. When Meuy is being bullied by Namwan, Payut is there to help her.
“Rabum Duang Dao (Dance of the Stars)” will air next Thursday, August 26, 2010 on Ch3. I’m sure I’m not the only person who has noticed this, Ploy Chermarn has been typecasted in the two-face nang’rai role. Have you noticed, all her characters now are strong two-faced nang’rais–good on the outside, just plain despicable on the inside. She has been playing the same role over and over for nearly all of her lakorns lately.
Subbed Teaser by Anonymousblue2001

I’m not a fan of Lydia. I don’t think I’m going to watch this lakorn. I love P’oil but I really don’t like Lydia at all.
i can’t wait!! i love lydia and ploy :]
I’ll watch this..I like the fact that Lydia will not play a typical n’ang ek..this should be good. I’ll give her a chance, since I do listen to her music.
i think lydia look more like a n’rai than n’ek
Ewww… Kim Kardashian is hotter than her!
I was never a fan of Lydia as a singer and I guess soon to be actress, but I do think she’s pretty. No comment on Ploy. I only liked her in RLSR with Tik and Aom.
“Though everyone sees him as just another shabby reporter, he is not. His family is pretty wealthy, his father owns a large newspaper company, he just out in the field learning the family trade.”
P’ek is never poor in a lakorn, it’s either he’s faking to be poor, some long lost son in some rich family or something else. I find this funny………..
I like Ploy playing a Bitch because she is really good at it. I think she is a real bitch in real life. A person truth self shows in their eyes, and Ploy has evil eyes.
I think Lydia is cute and makes a good na’ek but based on the teaser, I don’t think she acts very well. She doesn’t seem natural and this role would be great if she can act.
Wow…I think I’m actually going to watch this. I have not seen a larkon for such a long time!!!
this seems so interesting..Lydia looks so pretty in her music videos but she’s alright in the picture above and the movie..however i am really excited though cuz na’ek gets to be different from other typical lakorns..and i think Ploy is a gifted actress..even though she plays most of nang’rai roles i still like her as nang’rai and na’ek..but i want to watch this definitely
yuck I can’t believe they got lydia to be the nang ake it seems like ch 3′s been tryna get anyone they can no matter how much shit they got in the e-buss. anyways. she’s not pretty enough to be a nang ake I’d rather see ploy be the main character.
Wow…Oil is still as handsome as ever. Thanks for the summary, Lyn!
I noticed and it’s been bugging me they really need to give her a different role it’s not like the girl can’t act she’s done different roles before she’s good at playing this role but too much of a good thing gets tiring they need to mix it up a bit.
Wow, Ploy has so many lakorns this year. And to top it off they’re all airing right after one another–AND she’s been playing that same n’rai role like you mentioned Lyn. :X
I don’t know. I don’t usually like any dramas that involve the industry. This one seems really crazy, especially when the n’ek isn’t the typical nice and calm one, lol.
I’m surprised that Aerin is working in a Ch3 lakorn.
