Pancake does not care about her critics

Bashing Pancake is not only an international sport, it’s a national sport also. Much like international readers on this blog and various international forums for lakorns, Thais are getting annoyed with “Pancake” Khemmanid Jamikorn for being everywhere, accepting every lakorn role possible, her exposure and presence is too much.

International and national lakorn fans are complaining once again about Pancake, they don’t find her suitable for the female lead role in the 2010 remake of “Tawee Pope (Two worlds)”, a fantasy lakorn made popular by Ann Siriam and Saranyu Wongkrachang back in 1994.

Pancake is used to the complaints and does not care what others say. Every role she has accepted, there has always been complaints that she is not suitable for it.

“I have been in 5 remakes already and each time there has always been complaints. I consider it a normal thing. If I was given the opportunity to watch or like a character from a literary work, it is the right of the reader or the person who loves that particular lakorn [to voice their opinions]. Lets just say, I will try. Om and I will try to make this version turn out okay to the best of our ability.”

This is a classic, remade several times from a musical play to a movie, people want to know does Pancake feel pressured by the expectations.

“I don’t feel pressured. It is just that, if I was the reader, I would want it to come out like what I have imagined.”

Pancake’s primary concern is about the language: “Some phrases are not used in this day in age. It’s difficult to say. I have to improve a little. I been practicing by reading the script on my own. Also, the director and a helper is directing me on how to express my emotions, how much or how little.”

Filming has begun for “Tawee Pope (Two Worlds)”, one scene has been completed, and Pancake is trying to improve herself. Though the overall structure of the story will remain the same, there will be things added to make this version more modern.

People have been complaining that Pancake is too exposed, her lakorns are constantly on air. She doesn’t see it like that. “It’s not a lot. Duay Raeng Atitarn just ended then I have this series. Both these series are not on air at the same time. They air in intervals.”—That’s beside the point, you’re still everywhere.
