I don’t think we need to be, but okay. Thai politicians are making it out to be more than what it is. It’s a teen flick, it shouldn’t be that controversial. Just watching the teaser, I don’t think it is going to win any Supanahong Awards (Thai Oscars) or the Thai Film critics awards, let me reiterate, it’s a teen flick about love, raging hormones. There are worst things. Then again, I grew up in the US, the ‘almost’ kissing scene in the”Love Julinsee (Ruk Man Yai Mak)” teaser is nothing compared to what I have seen. The teaser shouldn’t be banned because they showed teenagers kissing and some where wearing their school uniforms.
I been reading some of the comments at Manager news website, many seem to agree, the ban is appropriate, kids shouldn’t be kissing. Kao is too young to be kissing in films, said several. A peck on the cheeks is more than enough. He has committed career suicide even before he got started, said another
At the Kom Chad Luek awards, Kao defended the film from criticisms from Thai netizens.
“From the internet discussions, it is the personal opinions of the viewers. It’s alright. I can accept everyone’s opinions. I do want people to consider, there are many types of love. In this film, it is showing one type. You should try it and wait to see what happens. The discussion on the internet saying the film was too risque, I have read some of them. There were comments like that. Some comments said it wasn’t too risque. There are some teenage love like this. It’s not strange. The film made it realistic as possible.”
Kao said he doesn’t know if this film will ever have a light of day in theaters or whether scenes will be cut to accommodate the Thai censors.
“I don’t know if this film will air or not, but right now, they are in a rush to cut scenes. As of now, I don’t know how much has been cut out. I just know this it the responsibilities of the elders to edit the promotion. I don’t know what they will use and how they will use it. I don’t know anything about the news. My thought is that it is a scene in a movie, just one scene, because in a film you have to have a lot of moods. You have to be able to play every part. In the film, that is not my only part, I have many, I want everyone to watch it first. Regardless, I gave my support to the film crew.”
To the public, Kao begged them not to prejudge the film, watch it first, then judge.
His female co-star he kissed in the film, he did have a rumor with her but denies any romantic ties. He is too young to have a girlfriend and she is just a friend, he told reporters. Sure, they all say that. It’s okay Kao, you can have a girlfriend. I wouldn’t be surprise if you did.
Lastly some have even said this film is the kids version of “Namtan Daeng (Brown Sugar)”, last year’s erotic film produced by Sahamongkol Film International. Below is the teaser to “Namtan Daeng”.

whats the name of this movie?
I think that a kiss on a cheeks is way more
better than a kiss on the mouth because they
are still young. At least, they are not like
American’s teenager’s movie/shows where it is way
beyond that. That is not good for teenager these
days.
I agree its not good for teens to be kissing on movie scenes like that.
what are all the (M) (MA) (R) ratings for if their not going to use it (seriously). no wonder why thai movies dont go international they cant handle reality, if its all pure then the movie is not realistic. comparing the movie to that movie is just childish. its not the movies fault is kids go around having babies, its up to how their brought up. If the kids know how to control themselves and think for themselves (is it suitable for me to be doing this at this age)then its fine(im 15).
@DBSK damn! Of course it’s for real, ancd that’s just the tip of the iceberg…
Oh goodness sake! If you look at Thailand, there are many teenage pregnancies even before the movie is released.
@liberty damn! for real?
I think the ban was just a way for the Govt to tell teenagers not to experiment sex at such a young age… Since Thailand has one of the highest rate in the world for teenage pregnancies. For those with teenage daughters, they may have over-reacted..look at Madonna. She was so raunchy and controversial, but when she had a daughter, she protected her like crazy!! It’s just human reactions. But then again, Thailand may not know how to do it the “right” way… look at the censorship of smoking, drinking and knives on TV…ultimately it’s not working as Thailand still has one of the highest rates of alcoholism.. and banning sex???? Just look at the numerous humongous sex-massage palours along Ratchada Rd (some with 400 girls in fish-tanks) and Rama 9 etc… Many have students froom Universities working there as sidelines.. So there is a presence of double-standards… Like saying it’s “alright” to have gigs and 2nd-wives if you’re adult…. and some Thai women are also going to clubs to hire rent-boys for part-time lovers since their husbands are also “playing” outside…
ITS JUST A FILM pople DONT NEED TO THAT SERIOUS
LIKE KAO SAID WATCH THEN JUDGE
N IT WAS JUST A KISS (IF EVERY SCENE IS KISSING SCENE THEN THAT WOULD BE A PROBLEM)
I am totally gonna watch it!!
They are criticizing a little too much…
Asian. Thai people and carry religion out a lot, which is good, but sometimes they can go over board. There’s no making out or anything. Kao is right, there’s many types of love and watch before judging is the right answer. Now he is a good example for teens.
I seriously think they are overreacting, so old fashioned! Here in Europe we show alot more of those so called “inappropriate” scenes than even America it’s like normal. Perhaps it’s because I’m danish (I come from Denmark) but I think Thailand is way too conservative to the point of being ridiculous at least where this matter is concerned. But that is just my opinion. btw right now we acually have a movie poster hanging around in Denmark showing a naked man and his “Third leg” in full view, just a little example of what is “allowed” in Denmark.
I think that are the criticisms are not necessary either.
