That must be nice. I wonder if he wants to pay my $170 speeding ticket? That would be awesome!
Reporters have gotten whiff that rising star Nadech ‘Barry’ Kugimiya has gotten a raise because of his popularity and will be making 120,000 (3,957 USD) per episode. That is a lot of money considering we are in Thailand. If it is true, good for him.
Reporters asked Khun ‘Prawit’ Aranya Maleenon, head honco of Ch3, whether the rumor was true and Nadech is rolling in moola. Khun Maleenon could not deny or confirm the rumor because his responsibility at Ch3 is making money for the channel to use. He advised the reporters to Khun Somrak Narongwichai, an executive of Ch3 who produces and allocate funds to make lakorns.
“This I don’t know,” said Khun Prawit when asked about Nadech’s earning. “At Ch3, we divide our responsibilities. Khun Surin and myself, we divide our task of making money. As for Khun Somrak, he has the responsibility of spending money. For that reason, you have to ask him. I think you have to help create because the person who molded him probably didn’t think he would get this famous. Therefore, we must help each other to create so that we can have people to use.” Interesting. Nadech’s fame has risen beyond expectations.
Good for him, he needs the money, Nadech disclosed in his Sudsapda magazine interview for this month that he just recently brought a house.
A few questions from his interview…
I’m simplifying this question, what has Nadech learned from playing in lakorns? His answer, the sense of feeling older.
“There are many factors combined together. The most important thing is to know how to grow. My aim for my next lakorn is to have it be better. As for my responsibility, managing time is very important because I’m studying too. My responsibilities right now is more than my age. My real age is 19, but my work and responsibility is that of a 24 year old already.”
Someone online complimented your parents for raising you well.
“Thank you every one very much. My parents instill in me about manners and being cautious in society since I was little. When we went to weddings, my parents taught me to mind my manners and how to approach people.”
Another factor is that you are not a naughty kid.
“I am naughty, but only in the eyes of my parents. There was a time when I was very unruly, I wasn’t interested in studying and stopped doing my homework. My mother had to pull me back. The truth is I have reached this point because of my mother.”
In one website, someone had gotten a hold of your mother’s phone number and had planned to call her to praise you.
“Really? (Nadech said shockingly). I don’t think they have called yet, if so, my mother would have told me. The truth is I don’t want my mother to be pulled in regarding my work life. I want her to live quietly because she likes her privacy.”
As for yourself it would be difficult now to live like a normal person.
“I still live my life like every other person. When I have time, I go watch a movie, go shopping, still go see my old friends. However there is people now who come out and ask to take pictures with me.”
Do you feel annoyed by that?
“Not at all. P’Oh (Mario Maurer), once told me, they come to us because of love. We are able to be here today because of their love. I have always kept that thought. It is the truth.”—good boy, he knows he needs his fans to stay in this industry. Mario, Mark Prin, and Nadech are friends because they are managed by the same agent.
Your development as an actor has improved a lot people are saying.
“A part of it is that I am able to express myself more. The first scene in “4 Hearts of the Big Mountain” I was very tense and acted very rigidly. In one scene, it took me 10 takes. Bah Jaew (Yuttana Lorpanpaibun) had to pull me aside to explain how my character ‘Fai’ was like. He tried to make me understand. The reason why I got better was the director and the character did not deviate to far from myself–I’m a little naughty, bold, and a little lustful (laughs).”
Another praise should go to your nang’ek.
“Of course. She (Yaya Urassaya Sperbund) helped a lot. She help with the connection of he characters. It was delivered well.”
Everyone have been saying you two are very suitable for each other and should date in real life. P’Fai ka, what do you have to say about that?
(Laughs). Hur (takes a long breather). She is like a (nong) sibling. Knowing each other is not harmful. As for the future, I don’t know.”
Have you ever experience this, ‘cheering so much, you start to pursue her.”
“No, not at all. I just adore her. The feeling to pursue her, I don’t have that feeling whatsoever.”
Do you feel good to be working and earning money at a young age?
“It’s very good. Money is like an award for working. If I make a lot, I would divide it 80/20. I take 80% of it and put into my bank account. The rest, I keep to use. My father has taught me to save money because a plot of land urges you to. Right now, I want a piece of land about 3-4 rai (a piece of land about about 0.4 acre) for an orchard and to raise horses (smiles).”
What is the biggest purchase that you have gotten to reward yourself?
“My mother and I just brought a house. Right now, I’m just saving to help my mother pay off our installment loans. As for other things, it is not necessary then I don’t want to buy it yet. But the thing I’m going to buy soon is a notebook computer because I can use it for school too.”
Looking at all the work that you have done, I think you have seen 1 million baht ($32, 981 USD) already. I really want to know for a kid who is just 19, how does it feel to have earned 1 million baht?
“The firs time, I just smiled. It feels good to earn your own money and not having to ask your parents for money. Sometimes I would go tease my father, ‘dad how much money did you make this month, have you seen mine?’ He would tell me it is good that you know how to save. If you don’t have any, you can still ask me for some na. My father is worrier, he would always ask my mother if she had money to use. My dad has always been a person who earns money for my mother to save always. He is like my idol and hero.”

he deserves it. i think he’s an adorable person (if he’s not faking it). he is the 1st pra’ek i know farting on set hahaha…
babimel: Why would we get mad? Everyone has their own opinions so no worries.
I did not like him at first either, he was just okay to me but after watching DJA, his acting is what did it and I found him more attractive as Fai. So, I think it has a lot to do with his role, if it weren’t for that, he would not be as famous and popular as he is right now. Good thing too or else I would have overlooked his ability (:
Awee; that’s so sweet to what he said about his parents…thats good he’s not those teenagers who don’t care and just party..
** && He’s HAWT! ;D**
