Wow, the lead up to this scene was beautifully done, they shared a truly intimate moment together. He got to know her on a deeper emotional level. She confessed to him a moment in her life when she didn’t feel like she was loved by her father and felt that her birth was a form of bad luck to her family. “Since I was born, nothing good came out of it. My mother passed away. My father used his tears to welcome me,” she told him.
He takes her hand and proclaims: “You were born for me that is why.”
Mister Luk was a good boy in this episode, trying every method to get Kluay’s attention, trying to show her that he really care for her.
Near the end of the episode, he got her prized jakhe (Thai style plucked zither) repaired and restrung. He learned that she played the instrument from her grandmother. This jakhe is one of Kluay’s prized possessions because it belonged to her deceased mother.
Luk secretly got the instrument repaired and hung a white garland on one of the pegs for her. When she learned that her jakhe was repaired by Luk from her grandmother, Kluay went to look for the instrument, found the garland and her jakhe in top shape, she was deeply moved.
She takes the instrument outside and starts to play a traditional Thai melody. Luk is awoken by the sound and goes down to see her.
From a distance, he quietly watches her.
She notices that someone is around and turns her head to look at him. Politely he tells her to continue.
Luk:”Please continue, I’m enjoying this very much.”
Kluay doesn’t continue and thanked him for getting her jakhe repaired.
Luk:”I can not believe you can play this jakhe so well.”
Kluay:”My grandmother taught me. This Jakhe is my grandmother’s, she gave it to my mother ,and then it was passed down to me. I haven’t played this jakhe in a very long time.”
Luk tenderly:”Why not?”
Kluay:”My father ordered everyone not to play the jakhe at the house because it made my father think of my mother. My mother passed away when she gave birth to me. My grandmother told me my father refused to hold me. As the passed, several months later, he finally gave in and held me.”
Kluay became silent from a moment and Luk asked her to continue.
Kluay:”Whenever my father held me, he cried every time because it made him think of my mother. Since I was born, nothing good came out of it. My mother passed away. My father used his tears to welcome me.”
He takes her hand. “You were born for me that is why.”
Kluay:”That is not true. You know that it is not true.”
Luk:”Why isn’t it true? The first time I met you, I knew instantly you were the woman I was waiting for.”
Kluay: “Waiting for? Meaning to wait to meet.”
She slowly pulls her hand away and says: “then to leave each other forever.”
Luk is hurt by her last statement. “You brought that up again. I thought today, the weather is good, the moon is beautiful, I thought we could talk to each other decently. But I didn’t think you thought about that constantly.”
She tries to apologize to him and he stops her. “Just forget about it. I was wrong to have bothered you. These past 2 days, you were probably very annoyed with me. I think it is best I leave. I’m sorry for bothering you.”
He leaves her and she follows him into his room.
She finds him sitting silently on the end of the bed.
Kluay:”Khun Luk ka, I’m not annoyed by you.”
She walked over to sit next to him on the bed. “I’m sorry for bringing that up again. I didn’t mean to upset you.”
Luk:”So you came here to say just that?”
Kluay:”If you’re not sleepy, you come outside and continue to listen to me play the jakhe ka.”
Was this a trap or something, then all of the sudden, he closed the doors.
She begged him to open the doors and he embraces her from the back. “I refuse to open the doors until we talk about it.”
Kluay ordered him to let her go.
Luk:”I will not. I will hug you like this until you stop being angry at me and to stop hating me.”
Slowly she tells him, “I’m not angry with you. Or hate you.”
Luk warped since of logic, “If you are not angry with me, or hate me. It means you love me. If two people love each other, then they should hug each other like this.”
He hugged her tighter and she ordered him to let her go. “Please don’t take advantage of this moment.”
She wormed her way out of his arm and they stood face to face.
Kluay:”Please don’t do this. Eventually, we will have leave each other. Don’t make it any more difficult than this.”
Luk:”You can’t leave me. I can’t imagine how my life will be without you.”
Kluay:”It will be like how it was before. Before you met me.”
Luk:”But I don’t want it to be like that anymore. I want it like this like right now, there is you with me. FOREVER.”
She shakes her head, “that can’t be, I’m your employee. You hired me to…”
He placed his finger on her lips to stop her from saying any more.
“Please don’t bring that up.”
He places his hand on the side of her head and says, “you know too well, you are mine and I’m yours.”
She looks at him with tears in her eyes and he wipes her tears away from his thumbs.
He kisses her and then he lays her on the bed.
The camera points to the lamp and hopefully you understood what happened next.
