Ka Khong Khon: Ep4 clothes burning scene

I am watching “Ka Khong Khon (The Value of a person or A Person’s Value)” on Ch7. I do like it a lot actually, it’s a hard-core soap opera style lakorn. We got all the goods that makes this a classic—an impoverish nang’ek  whose brother is addicted to gambling an owes a lot of moolah (10 million baht) to hoodlums, an arrogant/dumb/ rich pra’ek who doesn’t know a good woman when he sees one.

In the first few minutes of episode 2, pra’ek told his brother: “all women are alike, their only difference is their price.” I was like, oh hell to the no, he did not just say that. Just at the moment, I wanted to insert the ‘f’ word, the ‘a’ word, the ‘m-f’ word, and the ‘I’m gonna kick your ass’ word phrase in there too. I’m sorry mister, I DON’T need you, I can pull out my own chair and buy my own dinner from McDonalds, thank you very much. By the way, can I borrow a dollar so I can buy 2 baked apple pies from the value menu.

The first episode, I did get a headache from all the crying and whining from nang’ek–she has a pay a debt or else they were gonna seize her grandmother’s garden house, she doesn’t know what to do, her brother is no-good guy  always causing problems, she doesn’t know what to do, there is a Thai mobster trying to kill her brother, again she doesn’t know what to do. It was a big ball of emotional mess and she kept hugging supporting character Jetsada (Oh Anuchit) for comfort. I’m like lady, that’s not your boyfriend and he’s not pra’ek, stop hugging him. The first episode, I really thought she was gonna be one of those pathetic/weak nang’ek you can’t help yourself from hating. By the second episode, we knew what type of nang’ek she was and she wasn’t the pathetic kind, thank gosh. Minus the persistent crying, she is a tough cookie.

Especially today, in episode 4, the nang’ek Kluay (Noon Woranuch) proved herself to one bold woman- kicking out nang’rai Jane (Ice Apissada) from the guest house and ordering the servants to burn Jane’s clothes in the street and pretty much calling Jane ‘dirty’. One of the best scenes ever!

At the beginning of episode 4, nang’rai Jane is still determined to assert her authority over Luk (Pong Nawat), that’s her man and she is not giving on him because she worked too damn hard to be his woman. . This woman is beyond pathetic. Luk only sees her as a plaything and he doesn’t even take her seriously.

Jane decides to go over to Luk’s house to make her presence known to Kluay. She goes over, sets up her belongings or maybe it was there already at the guest house and orders one the servants to bring Kluay over.

Kluay goes to see Jane and apologizes for being late because she doesn’t know this part of the property well. Jane starts to flaunt herself and says, “Normally when I come here, I like this house better than the main house because it gives a lot of privacy.”–you dirty girl, we don’t want to know that.

Kluay looks at Jane and notices that she has slippers on and Jane makes it a point to tell Kluay that she leaves her personal belongings here too and adds: “Sometimes we have too much fun, we party for 2-3 days, I don’t even go home. You probably didn’t know that.”–again with the dirtiness.

Nonchalantly, Klauy said she understood– Luk is a grown man, before he married, he would have lived a life of debauchery. “It’s not strange, he is a grown man. Before he married, he probably had a lot women.”

She looks at Jane and said, ‘you are probably just one of those women.”–HA, in your face.

Jane stood up when she heard that and shouted, “I’m not one of those women. Luk and I are dating. You, instead, are a despicable woman, who stole another woman’s boyfriend.”

Klauy was unfazed by her comment and asked:”Have you ever thought Khun Luk was completely into it?”

Jane:”But I know that Khun Luk doesn’t  love you. Do you hear me, Khun Luk doesn’t love you..AND you don’t love him either. That is why I want to why you two have married. I have to find out the truth.”

The two servants Chern and Put went to get head servant lady Yam and Jane continued to interrogate Kluay. “Tell me honestly, what dirty plan did you use to get Khun Luk to marry you?”

Kluay:”I can’t tell you, it is between myself and Khun Luk.”

Jane:”What? Is it really that pathetic that I can’t do it.”

Kluay:”It’s not as pathetic as what you are doing now.” ha.

Kluay orders Jane to leave because there conversation is over, but stubborn Jane refuses to leave. “You dare order me to leave.”

Before Kluay could answer, Khun Yam asserted herself: “why can’t she kick you out, she is the head mistress of this property.” Jane asked Kluay and the 3 servants who she was, she is Khun Luk’s lover. They don’t care.

Khun Yam:”But Khun Rotrarate is his wife. You don’t have to guess who is more important. You can leave now.”

Jane refuses to go and goes to sit on the sofa. “I refuse to go, I want to wait for Khun Luk to find out between me and her, who is more important.”

“You don’t need to wait to get an answer,” Kluay told her and ordered the servants to throw all of the things that don’t belong to Khun Luk out. Haha. They do it and Jane fights with them to keep her belongings at the guest house. There were some pushing and pulling.

Jane:”What are you planning to do?”

Kluay:”Since I am Khun Luk’s wife, he gave me authority over the whole property. I have the right to do whatever I want to this guesthouse.”

Jane tells Kluay she is going too far and Kluay said she isn’t and orders the two servants to burn Jane’s belonging instead of just throwing them away.

Kluay: “throw it all away, but lets not. I think it would be better if we burn it. They aren’t very clean anyways.”–oO, she just implied that Jane was dirty. HA.

Put and Chern ran out with Jane’s belongings and threw them out in the street. Like a true gangster, Kluay followed them out and calmly ordered Put to burn it. As Khun Yam and Chern held Jane back, Put poured alcohol solution on Jane’s belongings and lit a match. Yep, that was gangster.

When Luk arrived and asked what the heck was going on, Kluay answered, “I am just throwing out old things from the guest house to burn because I think you will not be using them anymore.”–ohhhhh. wow.

Look at his face when she said that and he actually had the nerve to say, the guesthouse is Jane’s area. With that said, she apologized for burning her things and told him to pay for the damages. haha. WOW, I like her. She is gangster!
