Kulap Rai Glai Ruk: EP 9 gets technical

Remember back in the day when pra’ek would donate his sperm to the nang’rai foundation and she would get pregnant. A few weeks later, by counting the months or if nang’rai suffered a miscarriage and they learned the age of the baby, the pra’ek would know he is not the father. That is not my MONTH, he would proclaim. AH!

Nowadays, they gotta spice it up, get more technical with this overuse plotline of the pra’ek accidentally getting the nang’rai pregnant via a drunken night or the nang’rai drugging him and then staging that they slept together by sleeping naked beside him. Pra’ek would wake up with a hangover and see the nang’rai naked beside and think: ‘oh who, I messed up. I’m gonna get my head chopped off by my nang’ek and we just had a romantic scene together being stranded on a deserted island where we had to cuddle for warmth or being lost in the forest where we had to cuddle for warmth inside a cave. DANG it!

A few weeks later, presto, nang’rai is pregnant but she knew that for a while now. Pra’ek is not the father, usually the guy villain is and the guy villain is trying to get with nang’ek. It’s like a big circle of sharing and germ spreading. The thought of it all, ew.

Yesterday, in episode 8, nang’rak Tiptida (played by “Jane” Jensuda Parnto) told Chon (Great Warintorn) that she was pregnant with his child as nang’ek Neth (Matt Peeranee) was a few meters away in the lakorn “Kulap Rai Glai Ruk” on Ch3. And the pra’nang Neth and Chon were just getting along and on Friday’s episode, they had their stranded together in an island scene where they hugged in the water and slept together on a rock. It was the ‘I realized I REALLY like you’ romantic climax lakorn scene. Then the nang’rai had to drag them back down to earth from cloud nine, breaking up the happy couple, and causing them to fight again.

Though out episode 9, nang’ek Neth spent majority of her time away from Chon and hanging out with guy villain Tan trying to collect her thoughts and emotions by the betrayal that Chon got Tiptida pregnant. Out of despair and loneliness, Neth decides to accept Tan’s marriage proposal. Everyone is against it from her father, to her best friend Oon, definitely Chon because he knows what type of guy Tan is, and her grandparents; they are all against this marriage. Nonetheless, she refuses to listen to their plea to not marry Tan, in her eyes Tan seems like a great guy who takes good care of her. Her friend Oon did ask why is she marrying a man she doesn’t love, Neth replied that one day she will love Tan and believes that he can make her forget about Chon. Okay buddy, you do that. Have an unhappy, loveless marriage, see if we care.

By the end of episode 9, Chon and Tiptida went for an ultrasound appointment together. Everything is good, though he doesn’t love Tiptida, Chon is excited to be a father. Then he gets the bad news from his doctor friend, the child has thalassemia. WHAT THE HELL. They went technical on me and Chon was talking as if he was an expect on thalassemia: ‘That can’t be. That disease needs a mother or a father to have the disease or both the parents have to be carriers. Isn’t that right? I was like what, when did lakorns get so smart and technical on me. I didn’t even know what thalassemia was, I had to google it. It is an inherited blood disease.

Chon’s doctor friend is gonna run some blood test on him and the baby to find out the source of this disease. According to Chon’s doctor friend, Tiptida is definitely a carrier but from what he can recall Chon is not. It’s just odd to him and to Chon.

From the looks of things in the preview for  Ep 10 airing next week on April 1, Chon will learn that he is not the father. Well duh.

Chon in the preview yelling at Tip: ‘The fact that you lied to me and said you were pregnant with my child, do you know how I felt? I felt like I was stupid like a buffalo.’—haha. Good times!

The preview starts at the 8:41 time mark.
