Ben Chalatit’s MV for his song “Why” is the funniest thing EVER!

Just watch the video, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Hula hoop dances, flicking crab legs away, avoiding slushy drinks, and lifting weights with Thai muscle guys, it’s downright hilarious. ‘Peua Arai (Why?)’ is a single from Ben Chalatit’s 2011 album ‘Ben Braaahh…’  released by Sony Records.

Dome’s girlfriend didn’t smile enough

I can’t believe this poor girl is being criticized for not smiling, for looking like she was sulking, like she didn’t want to be there, like she had a frown on her face the whole night. Um. Okay, this is the first time she has been seen out in a public event with her high profile, Thai superstar singer slash actor boyfriend who is adored by many female fans and have been famous for a decade plus, and you expect her to not feel uncomfortable in front of onlookers and the media. Me, I would categorize myself as being a very shy girl. Some people are not meant to be in the spotlight nor do they feel comfortable in it, I can understand where this young girl is coming from.

Last week, singer Dome Pakorn Lum took his girlfriend Paint to Nok Bin’s CEO, Patee Sarasin’s wedding and people did not like how she presented herself. You need to smile and stop looking unhappy girl, everyone urged. At the wedding, Paint was standoffish and was very engrossed with her phone. I do that too, seeking solace from a small electronic when I feel uncomfortable. With Paint, it’s her phone. With me, it is my iTouch.

Paint was standoffish, didn’t smile, and kinda acted like a child from what I’m reading. At point Dome had to tell Paint like a father to his child to make an effort in public:  “Please smile a little,  the media made an effort to come here.”

Whatever her insecurities, some Thai netizens urged Paint to make an effort because she is dating a superstar and others are still comparing Paint to Ploy.  Geez, they can’t let that go, can they? And Dome and Ploy have been broken up for years.

Via her twitter account,  Paint explained herself. “I’m sorry na ka, to have cause a misunderstanding about the event that transpired that day. I wasn’t unhappy at all na ka. But it was my first event, I wasn’t used to seeing so many reporters. I have to apologize na ka. I’m a person who normally have a frowning face. People close to me know that. I wasn’t frowning or unhappy with anyone. Please don’t view each other [me] in a bad way like this.”

Tle’s house is massive!

You have to wonder, does he really make that much, to have that big of a house. True, the majority of Tle Thanapol’s lakorns are hits, TV ratings gold hits, nearing the 20 TV ratings mark quite frequently. This is rare nowadays with competition from Korean Dramas, the internet, and the West. People don’t watch as much TV as they use to, at least that is what the numbers tell us.

This past Friday (4/15/11), the “Wan Waan Yang Waan Yoo (Everyday you’re still sweet)” show aired a taping of their show featuring celebrities and their families and we got to see Tle Thanapol with his dad, most importantly we got to see Tle Thanapol showing off his massively big house for all to see–it had a Lion marbled theme water fountain in the front, marbled statue pillars holding up an open garage. Seriously. Personally, I don’t like it. It’s too gaudy, it’s very old school gold and cheesy Egyptian theme patterns. It’s not my style.

The cost of the house is in 8 digit baht range. Translate that into US dollars, it’s roughly around $330,000 to $3.4 million.

At Sanook, Thai netizens wondered does he really make that much to afford this house. One person wrote: “he’s really rich, like you couldn’t believe he was rich.”

Another person give Tle a forewarning. “What of waste money. He made it too big, he went overboard. The various expenses to care for the house, to the cost of cleaning each room, upstairs and down, the carpet in each room, I feel tired for him. What if one day, you no longer have job in acting, what will you do? From what I can see, the house is not even done yet. You should have made it smaller, save your money, and invested in something would have been better. I’m commenting out of concern.”
