Favorite scenes in SUCKSEED!

Been waiting since I heard about it, it’s been a couple of months. I was not disappointed.

I was disappointed in ‘Love Julinsee’, I did not understand that film at all, near the end with  ‘Kao’ Jirayu La-ongmane and ‘Mo’ Monchanok Saengchaipiangpen’s segment about love between two friends, it got ridiculous. Two best friends decide to take their relationship to the next level, they decide to date. The guy is all into the relationship, he is open and cheerful, he tells everyone they are dating, he even craved their names with a heart on a wooden bus bench to which I thought was cute. She, on the other, was embarrassed and yelled at him, ‘why do you have to tell everyone? Aren’t you embarrassed?’ The girl was rather confusing, she initiated the relationship and he was doing what is expected of him, being a doting boyfriend.

The part when he  kissed her on the bench when she was napping, she became defensive. ‘Are you satisfied?’

He lend back and apologized, ‘I’m sorry.’

She then asked, ‘why did you kiss me?’

I was taken back by that question and Kao gave an answer I would have given. ‘Because we are boyfriend and girlfriend, everyone is doing it.’

She charged back with: ‘your concept of being a boyfriend and girlfriend, do we have to kiss?’—what? Well yea, in America, we do.

Kao’s character is all confuse, this is his first girlfriend and his first kiss. “Well, it wouldn’t be damaging. Have you ever kissed anyone?’

“Then What?’ She snapped back at him.

“I just wanted to know.’ He replied. She then implied that he should have asked her something else, like if she had slept with anyone. That girl has a lot of insecurity issues. She had no trust in her best friend who became her boyfriend. She automatically assumed he was a hot-blooded guy who wanted her for one thing, it’s starts with the letter ‘S’.

She starts yelling at him even after he said, ‘you are misunderstanding me.’

‘You date me, you love me, or maybe you just want.’  Hey gal, you’re totally going off track. To me, it could have been such a beautiful moment, but she ruined it and made him cry.

SUCKSEED  made me laugh and here are two of my favorite parts in the film.

Suckseed is a film about love, friendship, and a high school band aiming to compete in the Hotwave Music Awards battle of the high school bands competition. At this point, the band has formed, we have Ped (Kao) as the bass player, Khung (Peach) bass and singer, Earn (Nat) bass and singer also, and Ek (Earth) as their drummer. They found a room in Ek’s father’s bakery to practice, while on break they read through the rules of the competition, they have to compose one original song about Love without using the word ‘love’ in the song. They decide to make the person who is currently in love to compose the song, but this is rather difficult since neither of them of ever experience love or have ever dated before.

Ek’s father chimes in that Ek is lying, he is in love, he has a crush on someone named ‘Som AHHHHHHH’. haha. The dad relayed the story on how he knows. One day when he was outside of Ek’s room, he heard Ek say ‘SOM! AHH’.

Ek’s dad:”At first, I wondered what was wrong with him?”

“But when I saw him open the door in that condition, I realized what it was. It was CLEAR! Mae, how could he do that in broad daylight (chuckles)?’

Ek opened the door wearing just his stain shorts holding  a pile of used tissues. Dad, just assumed he did something naughty.

Ek is embarrassed and tells his friends not to believe his father. Yes, it is true he has a crush on a girl named ‘Som’, but he has been too shy to talk to her.

Ek:”Don’t listen to my dad, this is how it is. I like Som but am too shy to go up and talk to her. The only thing I can do is just sit around and look at her picture. I accidentally spilled orange juice on her photo and was shocked and yelped her name–SOM….AHhhh. I quickly got the tissues to wipe it and I was gonna throw it away and met my dad at the front of my door by chance. It’s just that.”—SURE Ek, we believe you.

Dad was not gonna stop with the Som story, he had more to share. “There is more, did you hear about Donut.”

HAHA. Ek can’t take any more of this embarrassement, he stood up and pushed his dad to leave. “Dad, kids are gonna talk. Please stop, Please stop.”

Midway through the film, the boys– Ped, Khung, and Ek are going through rough times. Khung was rejected by Earn, Ek didn’t get a chance to profess his love to Som, his crush. Some other guy wearing a Panda suit got to her first and now they are dating. Ped is harboring unrequited love for Earn but knows that Khung likes her.

The boys decide to take a trip to Bangkok. They went to go look at girls at an all girls’ school. Ped daydreams about Earn walking out and Ek daydreams about Som. Khung is still hurt by his rejection by Earn that he imagines himself as a female school teacher with a long stick, ready to whip the girls. Sometimes, that boy ain’t right. You know.

Eagerly, they wait for the girls to come out but are disappointed by the first batch of girls—kinda ugly and overweight.

Khung:”hey, why is it like this?’

Ek:”Let’s be patient, I think that girls who look like that have cute friends.”—they are just WRONG.

Ek is right and pretty girls started coming out. The boys are satisfied until Khung turns to Ek to ask,  “cute girls who look like this, they tend to have faens (significant others) that are….’

Before he could finish, Ped yelps to alert them about the other set of girls, the Tom (butch lesbian) set.

Ek can’t take it anymore, he starts to convulse. He can’t compete with other guys for girls, now he has to compete with Toms. It is just too much. Khung holds him down and tries to shut him up and Ped assists by covering Ek’s eyes from the sight of the Toms with pretty girls.
