That’s nice and all and good for him. The thing I found amusing is that Mario Maurer became popular in Korea because of his resemblance to Korean hottie actor Won Bin. Some Thai netizens believe he looks better than Won Bin. Blasphemy! Others don’t want Thais to be compared to any other nationality. Thais look like Thais, that is good enough. NO need for a comparison. Then they were a few who argued about Mario’s skill as an actor. He’s stiff. Personally, I don’t think he is that bad in “Plerng Toranong (Flames of Arrogance)”, when his father passed away and he cried, I wanted to cry too. It was a good scene.

My Opinon:
Mario maurer is in his 20′s and he has a babyface. Won Bin, he is in his 30′s and have a sharp look. That is a big big difference. I love both guys, but I agree to most thai netizens ; thais are thais, they don’t need for comparison!
- Also, for acting, from what i noticed, if you are in your 30′s and you’ve been acting all long time, you know how to act better and you are known better than when you were younger. But when you are younger, you still have a longgg way to go.
Examples like: Won Bin, Eric, Ken T. , Chakrit, Ann T, Kim Tae Hee (Her acting skills improved since she is like 27 now) and etc.
i like WonBin much more..but it doesn matter since i’m not Korean or Thai… if i was asked who would i choose to be Korean ambassador..then i choose Nichkhun na kaa…he knows Korea(n) well…but good luck Mario..i wish he would be successful in Korea..

Just to let you know, Filipinos, Thais, Polynesians, Indonesians, Malaysians, Vietnamese, Cambodian etc. are all part of the Malay race so we should look alike. That’s an established fact.
BTW For me, Mario is the most handsome Thai actor I’ve ever known, or most handsome Asian guy in fact. Thais are very lucky to have him, because so many other countries go crazy just to see him.

You must not know your history or Thailand at all. Only a little part of Southern Thailand has Malay people; not everyone or all Thailand people. Thailand has NO historical background that deals with Malay.
