I have not seen the original, all 100 of them or how many there are of this series. When it’s good, they keep remaking it- I believe this is the third or the fourth remake of the lakorn version. Yah. It’s one of those classics they will remake every 10 years or so.
In the latest version, Sir Pong Nawat has been approached by Daravdo productions to play the lead role of Chai Klang–the charismatic, do-gooder, who will marry our nang’ek and help her reclaim her role as the lady of Ban Saithong.
Pong feels honored to be approached for this role, it is a classic. Actors become national level Thai stars when they take part in this lakorn. He wants to be part of it, but his schedule is packed with Exact Scenario lakorns. ‘We talked about it and they (Daravdo) invited me to play (the role of Chai Klang) and I’m interested because it’s a good role. It’s a legend. I want to take on role. Right now, I have been clearing up my schedule because I am booked for 2-3 Exact Scenario lakorns,’ said Pong.
Pong has been approached because of his booked schedule, nothing has been confirmed. I don’t know. They did say the nang’ek is ‘Min’ Pechaya Wattanamontree. This will be a Ch7 lakorn, which is alright. The problem lies in the production company of Daravdo, they don’t make good quality lakorns–not in terms of story or acting. It’s the production quality–the way they film, it looks disorganized and I don’t want to use the C word.

I heard rumors about it. Thought to myself that it might not be too soon for remake But now is true! 10yrs it is! Agh! Why cant they wait longer. I am still in love with sornram n joys version of bansaithong. Cmon sornram roles as chai klang stole my heart within a heartbeat. They way how he potray the character, he make it so real. Its alive! I fell for it good times. But then again is classic so let pray they will find a good actors/actresses to potray all characters.
All I know is that I love Pong and would love to see him play any movie with Aff!!!!

So, I just saw that Min Pechaya still needs confirmation to play the lead role with Pong in Ban Sai Thong.
I wished the lead could have been Om instead now, because Om is such a great looking actor too and he and Min look great together from Bundai Dok Ruk!

According to a blog in Dirtii Laundry——————— I AM SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY to hear that OM will be leading the role instead of Pong. Sorry folks, if you are a fan of Pong. Eh…., I LOVE OM as a new actor and I’m so excited to hear Om as the new lead cast. I’m now looking forward to this lakorn more than anything else now. YAY!!!
