Woody asked Kao if he is a virgin

And I am surprised he answered it. He did not dodge the question, he bluntly answered it even though Woody asked him without expecting an answer. The answer is yes, he is still a virgin. How far he has gone with a girl, he prefers not to answer.

Sixteen year old Thai star ’Kao’ Jirayu La-ongmanee appeared on the ‘Woody (Gert Ma Kui)’ show that aired today August 5, 2012 and I was delighted by his frankness about his two failed relationships and his long career as a child star. Though this comes as no surprise, since has been in the entertainment industry since the age of 2,  Kao conducted himself well during the interview.

The first part of the interview was something I wasn’t too interested in. He talked about how sometimes he just wanted to be a regular kid, go to school, hang out with his buddies. As a kid, you don’t know what do. As you get older, you know more, you want to do more things, said Kao. From his interview, I get the feeling he feels tired of the industry to a minor extent. ‘When I have to get up early, I feel like crap and it just ruins my whole day. I have to force myself and wonder when it will be done.’ Woody then asked what if you wake up feeling great. ‘Then it is good the whole day,’ said Kao. Like for example if he has to go to an event but doesn’t want to, if he meets someone (like a pretty girl said Woody),  he feels encouraged to continue. Not specifying a girl, just someone who will give him encouragements there, someone fun to talk to at the event. Lets just say he needs stimulus to continue on with his day.

Because of school, Kao has rejected work with that offered him 10 million baht ($317,712.47 USD)–this is probably doing commercials or projects requiring a lot of his time. He said, there are guidelines of how they accept work–this is not a new thing that they are trying out. If it interferes with his schools or extracurricular activities involving a sport at school, he prefers not to accept those types of projects.

The part that got me interested was when he talked about his past fail relationships and that he will always make time for dating because he is a romantic type of guy. It’s something he can not have. He needs to date. Okay, young man.

Woody: Do you talk about everything with your mother?
Kao: Not all of it
Woody: What about love?
Kao: Some but my mother lets it go. My mother likes to share stories of her experiences. Back in her day, my mother was something (like a popular girl).
Woody: Really? Like her son?
Kao: No, No, more than me.
Woody (laughs): More than her child.
Kao: My mother was ‘hot’
Woody: Your mother shared how hot she was back then?
Kao: She told me, she shared everything with me and told me to use it in my own experiences.
Woody: like what?
Kao: My mother had a boyfriend and he would go wait for her at the soccer field and like deceptive techniques used when you are in loved.
Woody (is curious): Can you share with me like some techniques that you used.
Kao: Let me make this easy, for example, you know when some women say leave, don’t be with me…the truth is they are testing you.
Woody: Has anyone used that with you?
Kao: Yes.
Woody: What did you do?
Kao: I stayed. Someone used deceptive techniques on me.
Woody: So you accepted it fully.
Kao: More than willing to.
Woody: Can you recall your first date, you came into the industry since the age of 2, have you gone on a date like other people?
Kao: I have.

Kao: My first, he was older than me. I don’t know what we were doing, we started talking on the phone. When we got to the point where okay, we liked each other, lets go out to watch a movie, lets go on a date. We were looking at posters of the movies.
Woody: How old were you, sorry for interrupting.
Kao: I was 13.
Woody: So 3 years ago.
Kao: We choose a movie and then went up to the theater counter. But I forgot, I didn’t know how to book a movie.
Woody: What?
Kao: Normally, I went with my mother. My mother did it for me. That day, I asked her to book it for me. When you don’t know how to do something, you get nervous. If there is a girl beside you, you can’t lose your ‘form’.

Kao: This was our first movie and our last time together, we then broke up.
Woody: So after that date, you didn’t see each other anymore.
Kao: Correct. I got dumped.
Woody (in disbelief): Kao got dumped.
Kao: Can you believe it? It did really happen.
Woody: Did she know you were Kao Jirayu.
Kao: She knew but I don’t think that was a factor. I think she is a smart girl, she didn’t care who I was. I think she was a decent person. I feel regretful because she is a smart and talented girl, she didn’t care about who I was. If it is not meant to be, it’s not meant to be. It doesn’t matter if you are famous or not.
Woody: Do you have a girlfriend now?
Kao: Now, no I don’t have a girlfriend.
Woody: Your last girlfriend, did you date for a long time?
Kao: It was long.
Woody: A year?
Kao: Not that long, almost.
Woody: Do you have time…you have to work…
Kao: I have time. Regarding this, I will always have time for it.
Woody (Surprised): Will have time for it?
Kao: I am a romantic type of guy.

Woody laughs and changes the subject. ‘On with the next question.’
Kao: This is scary.
Woody noted that Kao is a mature for his age and very frank. He then wanted to be frank with Kao by asking him about his virginity.
Woody: Are you a virgin?
Kao: What is that? I don’t know. I am a virgin.
Woody: So you are?
Kao: I was just playing. I have never. At most…I rather not say. But not to that point.
Woody: Virgin?
Kao: It hasn’t reached that point of having sexual relations.
Woody: You answered me frankly.
Kao laughs: But you asked me!!
Woody: I was just asking you, I didn’t think I was gonna get an answer.

Kao: I don’t want to talk about the future because you don’t know. If there would be a person, she most be important. Or something not important or someone who intermediately knows me, I don’t want to do that to them.
Woody shakes Kao’s hand, he wants to use this explanation next time.
If he doesn’t truly love them, he doesn’t want to do it. He rather saves it. If she loves him, but he only loves her 50 percent, he would rather not do that to her.

His mom is his manager. Though most 16 year olds don’t want to hang around their parent all day long, Kao understands she is needed to protect him. Kao said that in this business you need an adult who you can trust and he trusts his mother very much. He described her as a ‘necessity’ in this business.
