Excited about ‘Fai Marn (Satan’s Fire)’

Once in a while, I need a good slap and kiss lakorn with tons of drama, nonsense plotline, and I have a feeling ‘Fai Marn (Satan’s fire)’ coming up on Ch7 will satisfy my cravings. The plot line of ‘Fai Marn’ is very simple, it tells the story of two individual trying to deal with the emotional repercussion of their parent’s immoral transgression of adultery.

‘Chat’ Pariyachat Limthammahison is Kanaree or Kao, her mother is the mistress of Suang (‘Porshe’ Saran Siriluksana)’s father. Years ago, when Kao was very young, her mother Nudee or Papit (‘Nut’ Nussaba Punnakan) left her father for a married rich man, Suang’s father, General Arak. Kao’s father turned to alcohol to console his broken heart, her brother Kaew became jaded about women and love. He dates them but doesn’t give them love.

Kao, too, is emotionally affected–though it does not appear like it did–Kao is a young reporter, she is described as brave and bold–a strong female type, but deep inside, she is emotionally drowning–longing for a mother who left her, trying to understand why her mother abandoned her to be someone’s mistress. She doesn’t get it.

‘Mom, what were you thinking to leave me and become someone’s mistress,’ Kao says in the teaser.

As for Suang (Porsche), he is  having a rough time at home too–constantly fighting with his father about his father’s mistress. He wants her out. In the teaser where Suang is park under a bridge near the river, he says: ‘Don’t you know dad, you brought a fire to burn down our house and the fire you brought in is the fire of Satan.’  Strong words there buddy.

‘Fai Marn (Satan’s fire) airs this Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 on Ch7.
