Ready for Buang Ruk 2012

Remember that lakorn ‘Buang Ruk’ six years ago with ‘Fang’ Pitchaya Chaowalit and ‘Pepper’ Ratthasart Korrasud, they are doing a remake of it airing this Tuesday October 30th, 2012 on Ch5 starring singer  ’Kangsom’ Tanatat Chaiyaat (Kangsom the star 8 ) and gymnast ‘Panpan’ Temfah Krisanayuth. Notably Nok Sinjai is playing the overly jealous, vindictive wife of ‘Num’ Santisuk Promsiri.

I remember I hated it, most lakorns revolve around the pra’nangs, their love story and the conflict they endured to be together–not this lakorn, it’s all about the family drama and the vindictiveness of one woman who tried to take everyone down. I don’t think I liked the ending either, I remember a funeral, I remember the half siblings hugging each other.

The story started with the conflict of the parents, Tanin played by ‘Num’ Santisuk Promsiri marries Angkana played by Nok Sinjai  to save his family’s social status, he doesn’t love her.  He loves another woman Pannee played by ‘Kik’ Mayurin Pongpudpunth, they couldn’t get marry because of  her poor social status. Years later when Angkana learns that her husband still loves his ex-girlfriend and that they had a child together, she goes ballistic.

Tanin and Angkana have two children together son Chanaseuk played by Kangsom and daughter Konkanan played by May Rujipas Kohkiat.

Pannee also has two children, a son and daughter–Phettae played by New Chaipol and Pintong played by Panpan. They are poor but are happy.

The conflict starts when Pintong is hired into Tanin’s company and he starts to show interest in her–not in a sick old man lusting over a young girl kinda way–probably Pintong reminds him of Pannee his ex-lover who happens to be Pintong’s mother. When his son Chanaseuk fires Pintong for a mistake she did, Khun Tanin hires her back. When his wife Angkana learns of it, she becomes overly jealous and becomes hostile towards Pintong. Out of pity, Chanaseuk starts to have feelings for Pintong.

The plot  explodes when Angkana learns that Tanin is interest in Pintong because she is the daughter of his former lover Pannee. Bazinga. Because her ego is bruised, she accused New Chaipol of wrongdoing (stealing something, assault?) and he goes on the run from the police. To save her son, Pannee reveals a shocker to Tanin that Phettae is actually his biological son, the charges against Phettae are dropped and he is saved from prosecution.

Though her plans to put Phettae in jail was foiled by Tanin, Angkana continues to be relentless in her request to take Pannee and her family down. I’ll leave it at that.

I hope for the new version, they change the story a bit, like with the pra’nangs getting together.
