The remake for the lakorn version aired today January 28, 2013 starring Bie Sukrit and ‘Noona’ Neungthida Sophon on Ch5, now it is time to take a look at the film remake of ‘Khu Kam or Koo Gum (Ill-fated lovers) from M39 productions starring Nadech Kugimiya and newcomer Richey Omrawadee. The plot centers around a love story between a Japanese officer and young Thai woman. It is directed by ‘Leo’ Kittikorn Liawsirikul, his other works include: That sounds good (2010), Dream Team (2008), The Bullet Wife (2005), Saving Private Tootsie (2002) and several more. Odd, how I have never seen any of his films. None of them, so I can’t give you a take on if he is good or not.

In my personal opinion I like the 1988 version. The guy character was good looking (not that the guys in the other versions were not good looking) and also this version was just great. Although it is old I think it is the best version, but it was just a film so I can’t really complain.
I also am a big fan of Koo Gum and have watched the Bird Thongchai version many times. I also love the version with Noom Sornam and Benz. It is very very good. Hope we get to see the movie version with Nadech too. Thanks for sharing.
OMG, I was just thinking the other day as I was watching the lakorn that Nadech would’ve been perfect for the role of Kobori. =)
It bugs me on how the main girl looks more japanese than nadech. It seem more like a japanese Saga to me than a Koo Gum remake. Nadech look more Thai than she does.
exacly what i was thinking. they should have gotten a nang eak that was more thai looking . if i didn’t know the story i would have thougt this was a movie in japan with nadech as paeak.

This is the movie version. Bie’s is the Lakorn version. Although there’s not much difference based on the plot, it is still different because one is a lakorn whereas the other one is a movie.

For Koo Gum film or Lakorn in my mind there is only Bird ThongChai & Kwang (KooGum1990) version is the best and maybe the only one thai lakorn that i am really admiring it.
the producer of this version is really great. Bird is very good with Kobori Character, his acting is amazing ( Sweet, warmness, strong and brave ) and about Kwang, Her beauty is a real Thai lady and she did a good job with Unsomaline role, a difficulty role that she’d to chose between her heart and her nation.
