Stills for Ken and Janie’s ‘Kon Ruk Luang Jai’

Definitely replacing Pimmala for Ch3′s Wednesday and Thursday prime time line up, when? I’m not sure. Possibly August 31?

The plot to ‘Kon Ruk Luang Jai (The Trickery of Love Dupes the Heart)’ reminds me a lot of Korean series I have seen and back in the day lakorns from my childhood. Actually it’s one of those plotline that has been used a lot in Asian series– the main guy is encouraged by his mom to get marry to a specific girl, he is NOT ready and looks for a fake wife or girlfriend to buy time.

Same thing with this lakorn, Ken Theeradeth is playing a secretary to a Thai ambassador in Prague and his mom ‘Nok’ Jariya Anfone wants him to get marry to Om played by ‘Noey’ Chotika Wongwiras. He is not ready for marriage so he seeks the assistance of his best friend Sia Phet played by ‘Nott’ Vorarit Fuengarom; Sia Phet is the older brother of our nang’ek Bua played by Janie Tienposuwan. Bua and Sia Phet are heirs to a soy sauce manufacturing company, the largest in Thailand.

The plot begins with Bua listening on her brother’s phone conversation with Ran (Ken). Ran is in need of a girl, she should be sent immediately to Prague. It was a weird conversation which stirred Bua’s curiosity because she has loved Ran since they were kids and they have not seen each other in 12 years, probably being that she lives in Thailand and he in Prague.

In order to find out more  about the whole ‘sent the girl to Prague’ thing, Bua seeks the help of her best friend Kratoon played by Selina Pearce and learns about Ran’s predicament that he is in need of a fake wife to dupe his mom. This is disturbing news for Bua, the man of her dreams is about to be snatch away forever. Seeing her friend in distress, Kratoon suggest that Bua should travel to Prague and pretend to be Ran’s fake wife. At first, Bua was against the idea because it could ruin her family name, but when her mother decides to set her up for an arrange marriage to Chatchai played by ‘Boy’ Chokchai Boonworametee, she decides to take her chances with Ran in Prague.

Mew Lalita to return in ‘My Darling Mother-in-Law’

‘Mew’ Lalita Sasiprapa is returning to the small screen once again in the upcoming romantic comedy ‘Mae Yai Tee Ruk (My Darling Mother-in-Law)’ by Maker J productions and ‘Nok’ Jariya Anfone–the people who recently gave us ‘Mia Taeng (Wedded Wife)’ with Rome and Chompo Araya.

For this lakorn, Mew will be taking on the  young mother or the young ‘mother-in-law’ role. She is playing a woman who is 35 years old, married to “Kong” Saharat Sungaprecha, and has a daughter who is 20 years old. Do the math,  she got pregnant when she was 15 years old. Chakrit Yamnam, the pra’ek (leading man) in this lakorn is her future son-in-law. As seen from the fitting photoshoot, she doesn’t take to him very well, she probably hates him for being an older guy who likes her young daughter.

It’s a remake.

Flames of Arrogance: ep 12 Peed pants scene

Ha, Yesterday’s episode, episode 12. All I have to say is this, in what lakorn universe is this? Nang’ek does not pee in her pants. EVER! Maybe sometimes, but I can’t recall those scenes. This is a rarity– “Flames of Arrogance (Plerng Torranong)”, nang’ek peed her pants because of fear from a tarantula crawling up her leg.

She went to go pee and he did offer to come along for protection, but she pushed him away: ‘are you freaking crazy, I can go on my own.’

A few seconds later, she screamed for help. ‘Help me, Peung, Help me. Pueng Help! Where are you!’

Ha. Don’t you feel regretful now since you rejected him earlier.

As she is whining like a scared 3 year old, he calmly pulled the tarantula off her leg and released back into the beach.

“It’s gone now.”

Namfon: ‘Really?’

Peung:’Open your eyes and see.’

“3 Golden Men” 2011 remake

I have never seen the original from 1998. Most likely, I will never watch it because of the poor quality uploaded on youtube or maybe it’s too old and I can’t get into it.

The lakorn is “Saam Num Neua Thong (3 Golden Men)”, a modern take on love of 3 amigos with different personalities who happen to be best friends.

First we have Teetat, originally portrayed by Thanakorn Posayanon, he is a playboy who owns a construction company. He loves life, partying, and his freedom. He lives with his girlfriend and they have an open relationship. Eventually he will fall for the cheerful Lamphao, a veterinarian and the cousin to one of his best friend Kritchai. In the 2011 remake, newcomer Ken Phupoom will be playing Teetat and “Toey” Jarinporn Junkiat is Lamphao. They are the lakorn’s bickering pair. Teetat once insulted Lamphao, saying he will never eye her as a love interest, which really ticked her off and they have been arguing ever since.

Secondly we have Watchara, the honest police officer. Watchara has been in relationship for years, but has doubts. His girlfriend wants to get marry, but he has been stalling it. He eventually finds true love with the unselfish Fai, originally played by Kem Rujira. ‘Pip’ Ravit Terdwong was the original Watchara. In the new version, Boy Pakorn is, and his nang’ek Fai will be played by newcomer Marie. Sorry, I couldn’t find out her last name.

Lastly we have Kritchai and Arunsri, they work for the same company. Kritchai is a good guy, unlike his friend Teetat, he is not a playboy or lively. He is sincere with his feelings and secretly has a crush on Arunsri, but she has a boyfriend and is very faithful to him. Her boyfriend however is absolutely horrible, he has a gambling addiction and has always been unfaithful to her. When he dies, she begins to look at Kritchai in a different way, a man who is always on her side, ready to help her in every way possible. The new Kritchai and Arunsri is Kimberley Anne Woltemas and Mark Prin, the originals were Pok Piyatida and Jakkrit Amarat.

Their relationships:
Kritchai, Watchara, and Teetat are good friends.
Lampao is Kritchai’s cousin.
Kritchai works with Arunsri.
Fai is Arunsri’s best friend.

Aum transforms herself for a ‘cute’ revenge

Those are not my words, I would never attach the word ‘cute’ to revenge. It came from Aum’s mouth–’kae kaen narak narak (cute cute revenge)’ when describing her lakorn “Koo Kaen San Ruk (The Beloved Foes)” airing tomorrow June 22.

So we have “Aum” Patcharapa Chaichuea as a ‘hao hao’ roughneck farm girl named Ing Dao. She has a younger sister named Ing Jan played by ‘Tubtim’ Aunyarin Theerathananphat. They own a piece of land that Songkran (Chakrit Yamnam) wants. He is ordered by his father to buy up land in Ing Dao and Ing Jan’s area and build a resort, but Ing Dao’s father Saeng is not selling.

One day when Ing Jan and her friend Marin went to Bangkok in search of work, Songkran hires them out of pity. Marin has a big red birthmark on her face, everyone is like terrified of her. When he learns that Ing Jan is the daughter of the owner of the land he wants, he decides to date her until she gives up the land to him without limitations.  He succeeds and Ing Jan does give up her share her share of the land to Songkran.  Soon after, he dumps her to go back to his model/actress girlfriend Rosita or Rose (‘Kamboom’ Pimnipa Jittiteeraroj). Ing Jan is devastated and tries to kill herself but fails because her sister Ing Dao was there to save her in time.

Ing Dao is livid when she learned what happened to her sister Ing Jan, she wants revenge and she wants her land back. At first, she does the reasonable thing of going to his house and asking to buy her land back, but his hi-so mother and sister calls the police on her. She lands in jail. From jail, Ing Jan contacts her friend Mod Daeng (Nadia Nimitwanich) for help. She tells Mod Daeng everything about what happened to her sister Ing Jan and Mod Daeng is livid also. She passionately detest philandering men. So it time for revenge, starting with Ing Dao’s look. Since Ing Dao is going to be the one seducing Songkran, she has to look the part. She is transformed from a plain Jane with a big black mold on her face to a goddess like figure. Now let the games begin.

Pictures from “Lily See Kulap”

Am I excited about “Lily See Kulap”, not particularly. But this picture of Cee Siwat and Jakajan Akumsiri about to kiss, so beautiful and sincere. It makes me want to watch this lakorn, I’m actually looking forward this Friday June 24, when it airs. I want to check it out. They look like a normal couple though they are just playing one.

‘Lily See Kulap”  is a romance action comedy about a young woman from Hong Kong who fled her country to Thailand to get out of a force marriage by her uber wealthy father. Her name is Lily. She hires Nop (Cee), a former police officer, as her bodyguard to help her fend off her father’s two bodyguards who were sent by her father to haul her back to Hong Kong to marry Peter, her betrothed.
