“Thorn Rose” given the light of day

I thought it would never air considering that Ch3 kept delaying its air date and possibly wanting to scrap the whole project all together. Originally, it was intended to air around the same time as Aff and Aum’s lakorn “Burnt Sugar (Namtan Mai)” but Ch3 elders pushed it back until now. Finally, “Dan” Worawech Danuwong’s lakorn “Kulap Son Nam (Thorn Rose or A Rose’s Hidden Thorn)” is given the light of day this coming Friday, January 22, 2010, if kapook.com got the date right.

The plot of ‘Kulap Son Nam” reminds me a lot of Kob and Chakrit’s lakorn “Game of Vengeance”, an elder sister going crazy after her younger sister commits suicide because of a broken heart. After her sister’s death, she seeks revenge on the people who cause her sister to die. It’s similar to “Game of Vengeance” with a misunderstanding twist.

Dan, in this series, is Paron. He’s in love with Panapha (Bow Chotima), a young volunteer school teacher, his father Pakon (”Num” Santisuk Promsiri) disapproves, so he runs away with her to live in Mae Hong Son, a province in Northern Thailand. Somehow his father along with his older brother Phurinot (Oil Thana) convinces Paron to come back to Bangkok to get engage to Rujira (Paeng Panchanida). If he does so, they promise to stop interfering with his relationship with Panapha. Paron agrees.

When Paron is giving Rujira her engagement ring, Panapha sees them and is shock. Panapha runs away after making eye contact with Paron and he chases after her in order to give her an explanation that he is doing this for their relationship. He never caught up with her because in his hurry, he was not cautious, and was hit by a car. From the accident, he becomes paralyze and experiences memory lost.

Believing that she has been tricked and made a fool by Paron, Panapha decides to kill herself and also the baby inside of her. When her older sister Palilai (“Ae” Issariya Saisanan) learns of her suicide via the news, she is devastated to the point of going crazy. Panapha’s father Prart (Thon Jakkrit) suffers a mental break down when he learns of her death.

From Panapha’s suicide letter, Palilai learns that Panapha committed suicide because of a broken heart. She felt deceived by Paron–why did he start a relationship with her when he already had someone else? The letter makes Palilai hate Paron and it makes her want to take revenge on him. So she does.

She learns from Nuna (Oh Petlada), her best friend, that Paron was in an accident and is about to be release from the hospital to be taken care of at home. Nuna has been hired as his permanent nurse. Palilai takes the opportunity of knowing Nuna to her advantage for revenge. She pretends to be Nuna and goes to Paron’s home to be his permanent nurse. Her plan is to make him fall in love with her to teach him the disappointment of love and trust and to make him remember Panapha.  As she is building a relationship with Paron, Phurinot (Paron’s older brother) falls for her too, secretively.

Fast-forward through the summary because I’m lazy to translate it completely, Palilai learns the truth that  Pakon and Phurinot were the ones that caused her sister to die, not Paron, she starts to feel guilty for what she is doing. As Palilai is uncovering the truth, Paron regained his memory and remembers everything from his past with Panapha. He is devastated about what happen and is completely angry with his brother and father for causing a rift between him and Panapha. The one thing he doesn’t know yet is that Palilai, the person he loves now, is Panapha’s older sister. His brother Phurinot learns of Palilai’s identity first and decides to kidnap her to his family’s vacation house as punishment for trying to deceive his younger brother Paron. You know what is going to happen next–> r-scene. I’ll leave the story at that. Don’t want to spoil myself and you.

TEASER:

Longer Teaser:

Boom Panadda plays a house maid who is having an affair with Pakon, Paron’s father.

Some might find this interesting, there is an incest twist to the plot but it turned out to be false. The lead characters are not related but they thought they were. You wanna know which one? Should I tell you guys?

Opening ceremony pictures for 3 TV Scene lakorns

Ae in the weird red and black dress, Oh Petchlada, Donut Manusnun, Benz, Aum Atichart, and Janie

Today, three TV Scene lakorns: Jong Kol King Tien (Trickery of the Rose Balsam, จงกลกิ่งเทียน), Su Yipta (Fight to the End, สู้ยิบตา), and Khun Nu Shantana (Young Master Shantana, คุณหนูฉันทนา) had their opening ceremony and went into production.

Originally, the lead roles for “Jong Kol King Tien (Trickery of the Rose Balsam)” would have been Janie Tienposuwan, Aum Atichart, and “Ae” Issariya Saisanan. Because of scheduling or maybe the role not fitting Aum Atichart, they decided to go with Great Warinton as pra’ek. It is a supernatural lakorn filled with revenge and murder. Several murders, I might add. “Tui” Kiatkamol Latha is the murderous villain and a few of his fans are not too happy about that. Janie is the main nang’ek and Ae is the ghost, who is out for revenge and uses Janie’s body to get back at her husband played by Tui for murdering her and her family for wealth.

The cast and characters for “Jong Kol King Tien (Trickery of the Rose Balsam)”:
“Ae” Issariya Saisanan as Tienkanya
Janie Tienposuwan as Princess Buakamkaew
Great Warinton as Son
“Tui” Kiatkamol Latha as Apphanda
“BOY” Pisanu Nimsakul as Prince Songmeuang
“Tao” Sarocha Watitapun as Ruenjai
Meiji as Pakafah
Paeng Panchanida as Aree
Thrika Thidatit as Princess Bualawong
Tawan as Aunt Lamom
Pitmai as Aunt Charat

Brief synopsis:

Son (Great Warinton) and Tienkanya (Ae) grew up together, Son is her adopted brother. They live together in the same house with Tienkanya’s father and younger brother Gomut.

When Gomut dies from an illness, Tienkanya meets Apphanda at his funeral. Apphanda (Tui) befriends Tienkanya and seduces her. Tienkanya believes she has found the man of her dreams and quickly marries him, though the person she trust the most Son disapproves. Son knows the true side of Apphanda. He has seen him deceive women and fear he will do the same to Tienkanya. When Apphanda moves into Tienkanya’s house, Son is kicked out.

Soon afterwards, Tiankanya’s family members start dying mysterious; she becomes suspicious of her husband Apphanda. Before she finds proof that he is the culprit, he murders her. Tienkanya doesn’t die completely, her body dies but her spirit remains. The heavens give her Princess Buakamkaew’s body for use. Tienkanya doesn’t know how she got into Princess Buakamkaew’s body but she believes the beings that gave her a second chance what wrongs to be set right. She uses Princess Buakamkaew’s body to take revenge on Apphanda.

Is “Ae” Issariya too SKINNY?

She is definitely not the only one.

“Ae” Issariya Saisanan is accuse of being anorexic. Crazy about being skinny, Daradaily wrote. Ae says she is not anorexic it is more about stress than anything. Normally she eats a lot. However, at this moment, she busy with work and not getting enough sleep, which is disrupting her eating habit.

People eat 3 meals a day, because of time constraint, she does not. Ae can only have snack breaks. She eats a lot of sweets to keep herself energize. Fruits is another healthy choice.

Others may say this is not a healthy way of living, her doctor disagrees. Her doctor said she was fine, she is healthy. Though she does not sit down and have normal meals, the snack breaks keep her well- nourished. As for exercising, she doesn’t do it often, she hates going to the gym because she hates crowded places. While on set, Ae feels she does enough exercising. She’s always on the go, running from there to here for a scene.

So no, Ae does not think she is anorexic, it’s more about her busy lifestyle that is making her lose weight.

I have a feeling her answers are half and half. It’s both lifestyle and effort on her part to be thin.

The pressures to being thin in Asia is culturally enormous. A healthy Asian girl in the US is consider fat in Asia. Now add the component of being an Asian female celebrity, the pressures to be thin is tripled that of the normal population. Wouldn’t you say it’s hard not to give in?

Ae Issariya will have 7 lovers…

…in her upcoming lakorn for Ch3 titled “Prakam Dok Ngiew” written by Pong Sakorn. I was shock when I read the Pantip thread title about this project, it read “Screams, dot da dot, Ae Issariya has 7 lovers.” The way they worded it made it seem like Ae Issariya was a big sl*t and this was her latest scandal. Thank goodness it’s not, it’s just her role in a lakorn.

Ae is getting a lot of offers lately because of the success of “Saab Poosa (Cursed Fabric)”, which just ended 3 weeks ago. She has another ghost project with TV scene once titled “Jong Kol King Tien”, now titled “Jong Gon Pin Tong (Cursed golden hairpin or something like that)”. For the fourth time in her career, she will be portraying a ghost character. The script is written by famed author W.Winijchaikool and Ae will star along side Janie Tienposuwan and possibly Aum Atichart. Depending on schedules, it could be any pra’ek at this point. I believe Janie is the nang’ek in this lakorn and Ae is the strong second ghost nang’ek.

Dan at Central World filming his lakorn

Fan stalking pictures of “Dan” Worawech Danuwong at Central World filming his lakorn “Goolap Son Nam (Thorned Rose)” last Saturday, April 18, 2009.

This is what Dan keeps repeating about this lakorn–real kisses, real slaps, and several buckets of tears. Apparently it’s suppose to be intense.

“Goolap Son Nam (Thorned Rose)” will center around two brothers: Dan and Oil Thana, who are love with the same girl, “Ae” Issariya Saisanan. Dan is the beloved younger brother while Oil is the outcast older brother. Originally, Ae is Dan’s girlfriend, I believe by the end of the series, Ae becomes Oil’s girlfriend. Don’t worry about Dan’s character, he is paired up with someone too, newcomer Bo Chotima.

It’s roughly 60-70% done, most likely it will air late summer or early fall.

Ae, Janie, and Aum doing a lakorn together

Possibly. No confirmation yet, “Ae” Issariya Saisanan is clearly desired for the lead role. The lakorn is “Jong Kol King Tien”, it will be produced by the same person who worked on “Botun Gleep Soodthai”, Pin Nattanan Chaweewong, an executive of TV Scene productions. W.Winijchaikool, the script writer for the lakorn, recommended Ae for the lead role of “Tien Kanya” because she has a very “Thai” look and has the personality to play the role well. TV Scene production has Aum Atichart in mind for pra’ek and Janie Tienposuwa as the other female lead.

The lakorn is an adaptation of a novel going by the same name. It will be a supernatural, “Cheevit (life lesson)” themed lakorn.
