Botun Greep Sood Tai: Aff’s dream job

Aff’s character in this lakorn is freaking hilarious. Tomboyish Tanyong wants to be a mechanic and plans to open her own car shop. Nothing wrong with that but the way they presented in the story, it was freaking hilarious.

I love the dad’s reaction, he was sitting on his rocker chair and suddenly when he got the news, he sat up and shouted,“Have you gone crazy, Yong!”

“What is wrong with the daughters in this house, in their past lives, were they men?” he continued.

Overall I think the dad is pretty narrow-minded, he doesn’t want any of his daughters to be educated because ladies being more educated than their male counterparts is considered unladylike and deemed culturally unacceptable. Roll eyes, I guess you have to consider the time period. Thankfully in the end, he agreed.

By the way, this is in episode 2. You can watch a clip of it here. The discussion about being a car mechanic starts around 9:00.

Botun Greep Sood Tai: First Episode

Someone at the BGST Pantip thread shared the picture above to represent Aum and his father’s relationship in this lakorn. Poor kid, he had to lick the bottom of his father’s feet, just like Aum in the lakorn. I don’t mean literally, I mean metaphorically.

I have no thoughts on BGST as of yet because it’s just the first episode. Eight out of Ten you can’t tell whether a lakorn is good by the first episode, at least from my experiences. It’s usually the second or the third episode that draws me in. BGST’s first episode is very neutral–there’s not a lot of story going on because it’s the introduction to the family and characters and how they develop into the person they are, presently in the lakorn.

I do like Aff’s feisty character. I just love how Aum and Aff first meet and how she kicked the chair as she was leaving his restaurant.

Here is the scene:

Aum and Aff first meet at his restaurant. She doesn’t have money to pay for the food because she forgot to bring her wallet. Aum doesn’t believe her and insults her in front of everyone :”Hey, I meet customers like you everyday, if you don’t have money, why don’t you just beg for food?”

Aff offended: “Hey, really I forgot my wallet. Money that much, I won’t deceive you.”

Tui, who plays Aff’s adopted brother comes along. Aff becomes enrage when Tui doesn’t defend her, he is more embarrassed by her actions. He calmly pays her meal and drags her out of the restaurant.

Aff pulls loose and points at Aum, “Even if I’m starving to death, I will never come eat at your restaurant.”

Aum:”What kind of woman are you, you’re not even cute.”

Aff shouts back:“I never wanted you to love me.”--you know this comment is gonna come back and haunt her. Eventually, she will want him to love her.

["Narak" means cute in Thai, "Rak" means love in Thai. At the end of "narak" is "rak", when Aff says: "I never wanted you to love me" ;it's kinda a play on words. It's using what he said to her advantage. It's hard to explain if you don't understand the language.]

Before she makes her final exit, she kicks one of the chairs. I thought that was the most funniest thing because of Aum’s expression. He was like “What the hell just happened? She is crazy!”

Tui and Aum’s characters are just pathetic. I could not believe Aum washed his brothers’ clothing after they insulted him and Tui has this inferior complex with his adopted family. The guy feels like he isn’t good enough or deserves the love that Aff’s family gives to him because he was abandon by his birth parents. Very frustrating.

Botun Greep Sood Tai: Behind the scene pictures

Tui’s fan club released these behind the scene pictures at Pantip board. Tintin also shared the link at Sarnworld SGST thread. The pictures are professionally done and look absolutely stunning. Photographer Ople deserves a pat on the back.

Botun Greep Sood Tai (The last Peony Petal) will air this Monday, September 22. It stars Aum Atichart as a young novelist, who takes a job at an opera house to study the family dynamics of a family with 3 daughters for his new novel. Aum develops a relationship with the brassy youngest daughter, played by Aff.

I did not post all the behind the scene pictures, if you want to see more, do click the link provided above.

Botun Greep Sood Tai: Air Date

In case you haven’t been stalking Wishbone’s blog for cast info and plot line for “Botun Greep Sood Tai (“The last Peony petal”)”, it has been released. I guess this means Wishbone will be subbing this series.

“Botun Greep Sood Tai” will air on September 22, 2008, taking up the Monday-Tuesday time slot and replacing Por and Paul’s lakorn, “Ruk Son Kaen”.

I like the plot, Aum plays Theeradej or Ah-Joo, a young novelist researching for his new book about a Thai-Chinese family with 3 daughters. Tanyong, played by Aff, is part of that type of family dynamic. She is the youngest of 3 sisters and her family owns a Opera House. Ah-Joo takes a job at the Opera House to investigate more about Tanyong’s family for his new novel. Tanyong suspects something strange about Ah-Joo and gives him a hard time because she believes he is a spy from a rival Opera House. Cute.

Teaser:

Looks kinda sappy.
