Cherry and Ananda at the Asia Model Festival Award 2011

“You’re tall, pretty, and look great in photos, you get an award!” Confetti, confetti, everybody cheers. Yep, that pretty much sums up my thoughts on the Asia Model Festival Awards, pointless and vain, but hey, “Cherry” Khemupsorn Sirisukha and Ananda Everingham won this year for Thailand. They looked stellar at the event–Cherry in her silk yellow sapphire colored dress, she has never looked better. Ananda, you look good too.

The director doesn’t care that Mart is difficult

This is old, from last week (4/8/10), still I want to write it up. I’m sure Mart and Cherry fans will be pleased, this pair will reunite in “Pla Lhai Paai Daeng (Red License Plate Eel)” directed by “King” Somjing Srisuphap. There has been rumors that Mart is difficult and picky. Director King is not afraid of the rumors and believes they can work well together.

“I chose him myself, the channel did not chose, because in this series, the pra’ek is  a doctor and Mart fits that role well. As for his various rumors, I don’t pay attention to it because I have never worked with him before, this will be our first time. If I was to listen to other people say this or that, then I won’t be able to work with him. I believe he is professional.”

Cherry and Mart brought in the ratings in “Mae Ka Khanom Wan (The Dessert Girl)” for Ch3, director King hopes his lakorn with them as a pair again will do the same.

“I hope so,” said King. “But I’m not going to pressure myself. If I do, I might not be able to work. The actors might feel uneasy also. Lets just say, I will try my best and have the ratings be good as before (Smiles).”

Mart’s character in this series, as stated above, is a doctor. His character is overly religious, un-stylish, clueless about women. He falls in love and marries a woman (presumably Cherry), who is the niece of a major undergarment manufacturer and all her male family members are playboys, philanderers, Casanovas, womanizers. He marries her and start to become influenced by her male family members who are skilled with women.

Filming for “Pla Lhai Paai Daeng (Red License Plate Eel)” will begin later this month, after the Songkran festival. The lakorn is based off a book of the same name.

Cherry and Chakrit are “Beyond Comparison”

I have been meaning to write up a summary post about this lakorn for some time now but things just kept coming up. It’s now airing today (March 16), in a few hours.

Beyond Comparison or “Neua Mek (Above the cloud)” is directed by renowned film director Nonzee Nimibutr, his film portfolio includes: “Jan Dara”, “Nang Nak”, and “Queen of Langkasuka”. As for lakorns, I can only recall one, last year’s action lakorn “Din, Nam, Lom, Fai (Earth, Water, Wind, Fire)” on Ch3. Is he good, I can’t say, I didn’t watch “Din, Nam, Lom, Fai” and I didn’t care for “Jan Dara” or “Queen of Langkasuka”. As for his latest TV series venture, I might watch. I do like Cherry and Chakrit as a couple. As for the plot, not bad. A little suspense, a little political intrigue, romance, good stuff.

The summary:

Payu (Chakrit Yamnam) is the son of Meka (Nophon “Ah’Too” Komarachoon), a popular politician with a good heart. Meka is a widower and a single father. He has raised his son Payu alone since the death of his wife years ago, when Payu was a boy. Payu loves his father dearly and like wise, Meka loves his son Payu dearly. They have a strong bond. Meka is dating Napa (Nok Sinjai), a confident police woman, she is the captain of the Special Investigation Unit.

Unlike Meka who has a good relationship with his son, Napa has a strained relationship with her daughter Fah (“Cherry” Khemupsorn Sirisukha). Her daughter Fah blames her for the death of her husband Akat, Fah’s father, he committed suicide. Since the death of Akat, Napa’s daughter Fah has distance herself from her. Fah went out on her own and graduated with a degree in computers. She works as a computer programmer and on the side, she does illegal hacking, which further puts a strain on her relationship with her police officer mother Napa.

Fate played a cruel joke on Payu and Fah, as both were framed for horrible crimes at the same time. At Payu’s graduation party, he earned a master degree from America, Payu was drugged  and all his party guests were murdered. Because he had the weapon (a gun) in his hands, he was blamed for murders. As for Fah, she was caught hacking and accused of soliciting drugs to kids. Both are innocent, though the evidence  clearly pointed to them as the culprit. Payu tried to seek help from his father, but his father acted coldly towards him, like wise with Fah with her mother. Both parents turned their backs on their children.

Though fate can be cruel,  fate can also be a blessing in disguise for fate brought them together. Payu and Fah met on the day they were being transported to prison, a killer was after them and they escaped together. Payu and Fah, realizing they were in the same boat, journeyed together to find the truth as to why people are after them. On their way, they met Torung (“Koi” Rachawin Wongviriya), a brassy young woman, and she joined them on their journey to find the truth. All three is are being hunted by Lieutenant Kraam (‘Art’ Pasut Baanyam), an enthusiastic young police officer who is part of the Special Investigation Unit.

As they dig deeper in their search for the truth, they discovered they are being hunted down by a governmental organization called the ‘organ’. The ‘organ’ is governed by 4 individuals, one of which is Payu’s father Meka. The ‘organ’ is an influential organization in Thai society, they work in the shadows, controlling the economic and political affairs of Thailand. Now the question is this, what do they want with Fah and Payu, you will have to watch it to find out.

In the backdrop of suspense and mystery, Fah and Payu fall in love as they journey together to prove their innocence. There is also a love triangle between Payu, Fah, and Torung.

Ananda and Jeed sizzles on the cover of IMAGE

Ananda man-handing Jeed on the cover of IMAGE magazine and Cherry takes on their second issue cover. Comments left at the Pantip thread where I found these pictures can only focus on Jeed’s breast. A person wrote, “the first thing I noticed was her breast.” Another person, “I’m so envious, envious of Jeed har har har…”

My favorite comment was this…“my boobs are like Jeed’s but not as big.” Thanks for sharing.

Some thought Ananda gained a little weight and didn’t look appealing. To me, he looked like Carmen Electra’s ex-husband David Navarro with the black eyeliner and black painted fingernails. The greasy, crusty hairdo perfectly finishes the look off. Eee!

Everyone found Cherry’s cover to be absolutely stunning, they could not praise her enough for her beauty. However, one person did write: “it’s Cherry but it doesn’t look like Cherry.” I couldn’t agree more. Of course she is beautiful on the cover; however, it just didn’t look like her.

Did they photoshopped abs for Ananda? HAHA

Cherry looks lost and confuse up in the mountains of Northern Thailand.
