Ch7 chose the traditional route

You can never go wrong with Thai traditional wear–the colors are bright and happy, the traditional long wraparound skirt can make any women look lean and tall. It’s just beautiful.

The concept for Ch7′s 2011calendar is preserving the essence of being Thai. In a span of 2 days, Ch7 dressed more than 90 of their actors and actresses in traditional Thai wear from various eras to represent their patriotic concept for their 2011 calendar.

Guy Navapol has signed a 5 year contract w/ Ch7

Marsha Wattanapanich’s son ‘Guy’ Navapol Lumpoon has signed a 5 year contract with Ch7. Will you watch his lakorns? I don’t know, I liked him in his debut film:”Yak Dai Yin Wah Ruk Gan (Want to hear that you love me, อยากได้ยินว่ารักกัน Eng title: Best Supporting Actor)”. Unlike his co-star, he didn’t annoy me much. The film was a waste though–slow and pointless. Guy’s acting is not bad. It’s likable.

“I have signed a 5 year contract with Ch7 already. From what I know, I have one lakorn that will start filming soon. I don’t know who I will be paired with yet. The only think I know is that it will be soon, ” Guy revealed.

Guy will play the leading pra’ek role. Reporters asked if there is a chance he will be working with his mother. There might, he answered depending on his mother’s decision.

The reason he decided to go with Ch7 is because of his mother. “I consulted with my mother,” said Guy. “Because she knows more. Right now, I consider myself fully involve in the entertainment industry. My mother and my manager will be handling my affairs. In regards in the work, if my mother likes it, I will accept it.”

When Guy met Khun Daeng, head honcho of Ch7, his mother went also. His mother helped look over the contract and handled the whole affair for him.

“I didn’t even have to do anything, ” Guy joked and laughed.

Guy was scared to meet with Khun Daeng, she does have a reputation.

“The first time, I met Khun Daeng, I was scared of doing something wrong. But she looked like a nice person. She told me to get a haircut, have it be more proper. Not only that, she told me to lost weight just a little. I’m not fat though, I just have a little bit of muscle. If didn’t have muscles, I would be skinner than this.”

Pictures are from Priew magazine for their August 2010 issue, you can see more Marsha and her son Guy in the magazine here.

Ploy fought with Guy?

Honestly, I don’t care whether it is true or not, but the way Ploy Chermarn handled herself, she deserves an applause. This is what you call a talented actress, she can handle the press, play crazy nang’rai roles, and still pull in high TV ratings when she is the lead actress, remember Ploy and Por’s lakorn “Poo Yai Lee Gub Nang Ma (Elder Lee and Ms. Ma),” you know it was a hit for Ch3, probably their only hit lakorn for the whole year. I’m beginning to like Miss Ploy every day, she has this spunk that few actresses possess. It’s quite entertaining to read her interviews because homegirl doesn’t give a ‘who’. Her answers are blunt and quite spunky. It always has this ‘bring it on’ mentality to it, some would find it annoying, some like me find it amusing to read through. At least it’s not boring. Oh my gosh, you have no idea how scripted and boring some interviews can be.

So there is a rumor (well there is always a rumor about Miss Ploy) that she had gotten into an argument with ‘Guy’ Navapol Lumpoon at an event.

Did you argue with Guy?

“If I say something you’ll accuse me of [?], I don’t know what to say. Do whatever you want, just make it fun. I see Guy frequently and he is a kid in the industry that I know. He’s a good guy. However, we are not having a fling. We just know each other.”

Did you guys fight  like what is written in the news?

“Fight about what? Why do we have to fight? That’s ridiculous. We see each other once in a long time.”

Did it get so intense a cellphone was thrown?

“News is just news. There is never any good news about me. I’m just vile. Every news about me is vile.”

Do you feel hurt by it?

“I feel indifferent, it’s a little dishearten. Most recently there was news I went to a temple to have an abortion. There is never any good news about me (laughs).”–What? Who goes to the temple to have an abortion? OR does it mean to do buddhist merits at a temple because you had an abortion. I’m confuse. Whatever, it’s pure nonsense either way.

Have you talked to Guy about it?

“Not yet. I’ll will call him about it to see if he saw the news yet.”

Do you have anything to say to the person who wrote it?

“I probably can’t do anything about it, it’s alright. I’ll let it pass.”

Do you think they went too far with the temple abortion rumor?

“I get this all the time. Just do it to the fullest, that would be the best.”—Wow, she doesn’t care anymore.

So do you think someone has malicious intent for you?

“All the time”

Do you know who that person is?

“I don’t know, whenever I find out, I’ll have to give an interview. I’m just baffled. I went to the temple to do buddhist merits and they accuse me of going there to have an abortion. In the publication, they said that my tone was intense. Ween. Brandish. I wasn’t brandish, I speak with reason. I think this news is going too far. I heard from the news, someone at the temple said it. I’m a buddhist. People who visit temples shouldn’t think malicious of others. If you are going to be like this, it’s best you don’t go to the temple period. I’m a follower of that temple too. I believe the person who went to that temple is a follower too. I don’t know if someone hates me or not.”

Ploy is still hurt that people consider her fat, she has been trying to get fit. Luckily she has been getting support from the people around her. They told her not care about what others think, people have a tendency to talk too much. If Ploy is not beautiful then how is she getting 5-6 advertisement gigs.

News bite for July 16, 2009

1. Pinky’s mother approves of her daughter’s new love interest Songkran Techanarong; however, she advises Pinky to take it slow.

“If they like each other, I won’t say anything; however, I do want them to study each other more. I want my daughter to take it slow…be friends, get to know each other continuously. I do want someone to come love my daughter just like the way my husband and I do. They should not get into arguments and then not forgive each other and easily break up. People who are dating should learn how to forgive each other.” Pinky’s mother told reporters when asked about the matter.

Is she hinting something? Did Pinky and Aum had very immature relationship where they argued and didn’t forgive each other? Interesting. This time around, I hope Pinky does it right. Though I highly doubt it. Songkran is known to be a playa and has been linked to many female celebrities, Pinky is not his first.

Guy Navapol’s acting debut

You might not know him but you definitely know his mother and father. Model turned actor, ‘Guy’ Navapol Lumpoon is the son of  talented actress and singer Marsha Wattanapanich and Nui Lumpoon, he makes his acting debut in the film, ‘Yak Dai Yin Wah Ruk Gan (Want to hear that you love me, อยากได้ยินว่ารักกัน, Eng title: Best Supporting Actor)”. Don’t ask about the English title, I thought it was odd too, I’m sure they will change it because it doesn’t make sense at all.

The plot of the film centers around 3 young people:

Kao (Guy Navapol)-a young man waiting for his soul mate.

Song (‘Bik’ Tongpoom Siriphiphat)-a young man who is waiting to hear the words ‘I love you’ from the person he loves.

Nor (May Rujipas Kohkiat)-a young woman determined to prove that love (must) exist. In the past, she has been emotionally  battered by love.

It’s a love triangle (I’m assuming), but more focus on the underdog, the pitiful guy in the group (i.e Song).

From the director:“I feel that songs that are most tuneful and have the most hits are songs about heartbreaks, songs about disappointments in love. But in movies, there is not a lot of plot line centering around disappointments in love. In the fulfillment of the leading actor and actress, you only have the supporting actor experiencing disappointments secretively (in the darkness). ‘Yak Dai Yin Wah Ruk Gan (Want to hear that you love me)’ is a movie about that person, the person no one cares for.”

The film is produced by Feeling Films and directed by Alonggot Uephaibun.

Songs for the soundtrack were released first to stir interest from the public, the youth generation. Like the songs, will go watch the movie, was the marketing idea.

The song “Yak Dai Yin Wah Ruk Gan (the song)” by folk rock duo Asanee & Wasan Chotikul  was remade by Da Endorphine for the film’s soundtrack. Embedded in the music video for Da Endorphine’s version are clips from the film.

At the beginning where Nor (May) touches Song (Bik)’s heart: “Song, do you like this song? Because whenever you like a song very much your heart beats faster. When we are listening to a song that we like with a lot of people, our hearts will beat at the same rhythm.”

Calories Blah Blah also contributed to the film’s soundtrack, listen to his song here.
