Nine Entertainment 2009 Purple Carpet

Just some red purple carpet pictures for the big event. I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of Korean Pop group 2PM. I guess I was the last to know, they are performing their hit maker “10 out of 10″ at the event.

Nickhun is adorable, I love his yellow good luck string.

HAHA, 2PM struggling with their “wais”, I have a feeling some of them were asking themselves, “how long should I hold it, should I stop now?” They seem unsure. Of course being that he is Thai, Nickhun had confident in his wai, though he seems like he is praying.

Attention seeker Ploy Cherman, being very unoriginal and dressing very similar to singer Marsha at the Supanahong Awards. It looks windy in Bangkok.

“Wonderful Town” wins big at the 18th Suphanahong Awards

Aditya Assarat’s movie“Wonderful Town” took home 5 trophies at the Supanahong Awards (Thai Oscars) a few hours ago held at the Thailand Culture Centre, a big win for the Indie flick. Other than vaguely reading about it at Wise Kwai’s Thai movie Blog, I have never seen the film. I might have to hunt it down. From what I gathered from reading Nathan Lee’s NY Times review and random sites about the film, it’s a depressing love story about a female housekeeper Na (Anchalee Saisoontorn ) and a handsome young architect Ton (Supphasit Kansen) set in the tsunami ravaged town of Takua Pa, Thailand.

Top Awards 2008 winners

The lakorn “Sawan Biang” won big at the Top Awards 2008, both Ann Thongprasom, Ken Theeradeth, and the director won in their category for “Sawan Biang”. I’m surprise by Mario Maurer’s win because winners are chosen by popular vote and I know the movie “Friendship” didn’t do too well with the public.

As for the fashion, so many violations, nearly half should be arrested by the fashion police.

Jakajan’s new movie “Wongkamlao”

Jakajan Akumsiri will play lead in Mum Jokmok’s upcoming movie “Wongkamlao”, a romantic comedy about high society people. Mum Jokmok, whose real name is Petchtai Wongkamlao, chose his surname as the title.

On set, Mum adores Jakajan’s professionalism and said this:

“I adore Khun Jakajan very much, when I direct her to do something, she is not unyielding. Whatever I tell her, she does it. She is truly a performer, I accept Jakajaan is a very professional actress. Most importantly, she has high tolerance, I was not wrong to cast her for this nang’ek role in my film “Wongkamlao”. I guarantee you that Khun Jakajan’s fans will get to see her loveliness, cuteness like they have never seen before. With certainty, Khun Jakahan will make you smile and laugh like you have never seen her do before”

The movie is set to premier around mid year, I guess you can say late summer.

I love Mum, he’s my favorite short/potbellied/Thai comedian. Whatever he does, it always manages to make me laugh.

Here is a video from youtube of Mum’s aftermath rape scene with Janet Kiew’s character in the movie “Yam Yasothorn”, it’s freaking hilarious.

She kept trying to assure him that everything was alright and he kept crying and pushing her hands away.

Janet:”You should stop that, don’t think too much, I will take responsibility for you. You’re a man, you shouldn’t cry. They say men shouldn’t cry. ”

The scene starts around the 2:13 mark.

Soo Saeng Tawan: Spoiler pic

Possibly tomorrow or maybe next week, we will see Aof Chanapol in the buff for “Soo Saeng Tawan”. Aof plays Chongon, a spoiled rich kid and Jakajan plays Rawee his love interest in the lakorn.

In the upcoming episode, Rawee comes to work in Chongon’s house as a servant. Before she became his servant, Rawee and Chongon had several bad encounters. The first time they met, he snuck into her yard and caught her while she got out of the shower. The second time, she saw him at the club, where she worked as a waitress, with several “loose” women. He insulted her, so when he was hiding from the cops because they were checking IDs, she ratted him out. Rawee sees Chongon as a pervert and a womanizer.

At his house and at his turf, he gets her back by putting her in an awkward position. While he is in the tub, he orders her to come into the bathroom and to get him a towel. She walks in and sees him in the tub half-naked, she screams and looks the other way. He comes up behind her and taunts her. Annoyed and angry to be put in such a position, she whacks him with the scrubber. LOL.

“Soo Saeng Tawan” airs every Mon-Tues. for Ch7.

I been noticing that Pancake is never in these behind the scene pictures. It’s like everyone is close except Pancake.

Premier: Soo Saeng Tawan

In a few hours, “Soo Saeng Tawan (“Reaching for the Sunlight”) will premier on Ch7, taking up the Monday-Tuesday time lot and replacing Por and Noon’s lakon “Kom Faek” and I must say it has one of the most diabolical pra’eks out there.

As I was reading the synopsis, I thought my god he is like a prisoner from death row, “my mother abandon me and I came from an abusive foster care system, so I decided to shot everyone down to vent out my frustration on society and my mother.” Wow.

Pra’ek shouldn’t even be called pra’ek when he is running around sniper shooting everyone and trying to kill his mother, who abandoned him as a baby. Pra’ek also tries to kill his younger half-brother by causing him to go under a major asthma attack, his brother is asthmatic and he used it against him. Dude is crazy. He spends his every waking hour strategizing for ways to destroy his mother’s life and career and also the people around her. Crazy.

I think we should come up with a new vocab for this type of pra’ek. They should be known as pra’ek rai, meaning “villain leading man”. Or do you like “pra’ek ba”, crazy leading man.

Pra’ek lai is played by Tle Thanapol and nang’ek is played by Pancake Khemmanid.

Supporting cast includes:

Aof Chanapol as Chongon, pra’ek’s half brother
Jakajan Akumsiri as Rawee, servant girl in Nafah’s household.
Chadaporn Rattanakorn as Nafah, pra’ek’s mother

What’s going on here? I don’t know. Looks entertaining though.

Pictures of the crew goofing off during their break. Tubbytinker, Sarnworld member, found the pictures at Pantip forum.

Tle doesn’t look that bad.
