2nd Annual Nataraja Awards 2011

The Nataraja Awards 2011 just finished airing a few hours ago on Ch5. Everyone looked great, BEAUTIFUL. No one was lip-synching when they had to sing the nominated best lakorn songs. Singers from the Star franchise, KPN franchise, and selected AF kids were grouped together to sing the songs. It was a live performance that bedazzled me, it was like a mini concert with all these talented young Thai singers.  I was blown away.

The duet between Gam and Patcha for the song “Pler Ruk Mot Jai (Absent-minded Love)” from the lakorn “Dok Ruk Rim Tang (Roadside Love Flower)” was one of the highlights of the show.

Though the show was beautifully orchestrated, it was a little off , Ploy Chermarn was not there to accept her Best Actress award for the lakorn ‘Rabam Duang Dao (The Star Dance)’, Ken Theeradeth had to awkwardly accept the award on her behalf. Ken presented the nominees and named the winner Ploy Chermarn but she never came up. There was an odd pause where Ken stood to the side waiting for Ploy to come up. Then he realizes she is not coming, so he had to accept the award on her behalf with a chuckle.  There is a whole discussion about this at Pantip. The first annual Nataraja Awards was amazing–this year,  some complained it lacked ‘ dara spirit’ because some of the nominees did not attend. ‘Chai’ Chatayodom Hiranyatsathiti and Ploy Chermarn won but did  not attend. “Aff” Taksaorn Paksukcharean and “Aum” Patcharapa Chaichuea who were nominated in the Best Actress category did not attend, it was quite noticeable too. For the Best Supporting Actor award, only one nominee was present, Puri Hiranpruk. It was really off.

Ken accepting Ploy’s award starts around the 5:20 time mark.

Stars came out to support OHO magazine’s 3rd year anniversary

On Thursday night February 3rd, several prominent and minor Thai celebrities came out to support OHO Entertainment magazine’s 3rd year anniversary at Central World. There were performances by pop stars and Thai Pop Queen Marsha Wattanapanich in a see-through long black dress.

I have a feeling some were paid to be there and others came out to support their good friends. Ken and his wife Noi Bussakorn definitely came out to support “Mam” Katreeya Mcintosh because this is Mam’s magazine–Noi and Mam have been friends for years. Anne Thongprasom has known Willy personally and professionally for years, she came out to support him.

Ken is sandwiched between is off screen nang’ek (his wife Noi) and his onscreen nang’ek (Anne Thongprasom). I love his hair. Ken looks so young and stylish like a preppy kid from an all boys school.

Marriage then babies

Back in October, Opps magazine asked several Thai stars the marriage and baby question,  at what age do they believe they will be ready to settle down and have babies. Their answers will surprise you because it got me laughing, especially Chakrit, who said he wanted to get married at the tender age of 15 because he wanted to be a father. However, things did not turn out as he wanted to. Good thing guy, 15 is a little young.

Janie and Nadech for Praew

I would definitely watch the Thai version of 2007 Kdrama “Dal’s Spring” about an older woman  (spinster age) who falls in love with a much younger man. Janie would play “Oh Dal Ja” and Mr. “Way too Sexy for his Age” Nadech can be the more experienced, free-spirited “Kang Tae Bong” originally played by Lee Min Ki. Realistically it could work considering Nadech (19) is a decade younger than Janie Tienposuwan (29).

Janie and the bear cub

The person who shared this at Pantip wrote:’Janie and the Bear Cub for Praew magazine coming soon.’ Did I miss something, is Nadech now refer to as Look Mee (baby bear, baby bear cub)? I’m noticing a scar on his lower right abs (left in the picture). Is it a cut? Whatever, lets just stare.

Below is a clip of Nadech talking about his mom and how he is not embarrassed to tell her he loves her anymore. His mom is standing beside him too, he looks just like her, especially the eyes and nose. Yaya is also in this clip, she looks like the farang and taller version of her mom.

Nadech:”In front of a lot of people, I have never done it. Many people might be embarrassed to tell their mom they love them. Today, I don’t feel embarrassed to tell my mom I love her.”
