Pictures from the 7th annual Kom Chad Luek newspaper awards, you can see the complete winners list here or at Dirtii. I don’t know how this happened, “Tui” Kiatkamol Latha was voted the Nation’s Popular Actor again for the 3rd year straight. Kob’s new bob hairdo

You like? Miss Suvanant “Kob” Kongying showed off her new shorter hairdo a few days ago at the taping for her variety show “Jan Pan Dao” with Por Natthawut. It suits her. I like it.

Most recently, Kob was being compared to Aom Piyada because both are top leading actresses of Thailand and both have recently gotten married. One differing factor, Aom Piyada’s marriage is legal while Kob’s marriage to ‘Brook’ Danuporn Boonakan is not. Legally speaking, Kob and Brooke are just live-together lovers. Kob defended her choice, saying people are different and live their lives differently.

STAR ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS 2008 nominees

[winners from last year]

I really don’t understand the purpose of the “Star Entertainment Awards 2008″, we’re half way through 2009 and we’re still celebrating the films and lakorns of 2008? Well at least we’ll see stars in pretty suits and dresses, if they show up.

Anywho here are the nominees for the Star Entertainment Awards 2008…

Kob dancing up a storm for her new movie

I can’t believe they are doing a sequel to this movie.

Kob Suvanant went up on stage to dance in the province of Suphan Buri for her new movie “E Som Somwang Cha Cha”, the sequel to her 2007 film “E Som Somwang aka In country melody”. Her co-star is “Tae” Pitisak Yaowananon, a morlum singer, member of Kob’s touring morlum troupe. In the first movie, Tae was an aspiring morlum singer who wanted to part of Kob’s morlum troupe, he had a weird infatuation with their lead singer. By the end, obviously, he succeeded and also won Kob’s heart. I think they got engage by the end.

My mother loved it while I hated it. I’m not a fan of Thai country music nor country style slapstick comedy. They were trying to be funny, I just didn’t get it.

Both films are directed by comedian Note Chernyim and produced by Phranakorn films. Mostly likely the film will be release sometime in the fall.

Kob and Tae up on stage. Damn these morlum singers, they’re so colorful.

Did Kob cut her hair?

I’m use to seeing Kob Suvanant with long hair, this is something different. Kob came out with a bob for the taping of her variety show “Jan Pan Dao”. I can’t tell if she cut her hair or not. It looks held back.

Singer Jae Danupol was the guest and the performer for the show. The segment will be shown in a few hours, Monday March 30, 2009.

Oh good god, the M.C Hummer pants must be really in this year, Yardthip wore one at the Komchadleuk Awards and now Kob.

[Hey Yard, nice MC Hammer pants!]

I’m surprised by “Tang Chang Peuk” win because I didn’t think it was a great lakorn. Heck, I could barely get through it, I guess it won because of it’s life lesson theme to which I found a little twisted. Tah’s character raped and impregnated a woman, he was later force to marry her by his grandmother. When the woman died, then he reformed. I didn’t like his character too much.

All the major Thai celebrities were there, I could care less about the award show, I just want to see pictures. HAHA.

Watch it at Youtube: Thanks Cecilia!

Ah, two feuding young starlets at the same event: Kwan and Pancake. Outfit wise, whose do you prefer? Kwan’s playful pink dress or Pancake’s modern chic white dress pants and tangerine- orange blouse.

Winners: Ken, Yuan, Aff, Tui, Joy
