“Lukkade” Metinee Kingpayom Archive

From ‘Kind’ to ‘Skye’

See this cute little baby pictured above, his name could have been KIND. Yes, his supermodel/ actress mother “Lukkade” Metinee Kingpayom wanted to name him ‘Kind’ because in English the word ‘kind’ has a pleasant meaning. Also, ‘kind’ sounded very similar and went well with Mackay, Metinee’s mother-in-law’s maiden name. I think they pronounce it Mac “Eye”.  Fortunately for him, Lukkade decided to scrap that idea because in Thai, ‘kind’ sounded too similar to ‘khaai’ meaning to spit out, to eject things from your mouth.

After much thought, she decided to go with Skye which originated from Scotland. In Scotland there is an island called “The Isle of Skye”. Lukkade  thought it sounded nice and told her father about it. He said it was a good idea because “Skye” goes well with Lukkade’s last name “Kingpayom”.  In Thai, “Payom” means the heavens or the sky. So she decided to go with ‘Skye’. His full name is Skye Kingpayom Charles Pearl (maybe it’s Charperl ?).

I think it was a good choice. Much better than KIND.

Leo 2010 calendar controversy

[Yea, they're nude, it's body paint, can you tell?]

Don’t they have anything better to do than going after a bunch of skanky looking models scantily clad in body paint. There is child prostitution, internal political issues, prostitution in general, the economy to worry about it. Not this. Let it go!

And, how can this be a law?

Section 32 of the Alcohol Beverage Control Act 2008 prohibits the advertising of alcohol drinks, their brands and trademarks in a way that encourages consumption, directly or indirectly.

What are they trying to do ban alcohol completely from Thailand? The whole point of advertising is to make products encouraging to consume. Why don’t they just be blunt about it? Alcohol is illegal. There, that is more clear and giving me less of a headache. Beer companies in Thailand sponsor concerts, we should ban that too because it encourages alcohol consumption. We should close all the bars in Thailand, but they are not going to do that because it will totally sink Thai tourism. They are just scratching the surface and just fronting by saying alcohol consumption is wrong but not really acting on it. What a load of hypocrisy! By the way, blurring alcohol bottles in lakorn doesn’t help much, it’s downright annoying and makes me focus on it more.

Leo Beers (a beer brand under Singha Beer company, the largest beer company in Thailand) releases a girly calendar with their logo in the background each year. This year was no different and the calendar was produce by “Lukkade” Metinee Kingpayom and apparently it’s against the law because it’s a form of print advertisement for alcohol. So the government is banning the sale and distribution of this controversial calendar. Now there is all this buzz about it. Read more about it here and an opinion piece about it here.

More pictures from the calendar here. They edited out the Leo logo out for legal reasons, I’m assuming.

I know many of you might harp on me for having this viewpoint, like several readers at Manager news website who are condemning “Lukkade” Metinee Kingpayom, calling her unladylike, not Thai for bringing smut into Thai culture.  Personally, I would never buy the calendar, I’m a girl who doesn’t drink but it doesn’t mean I’m going to force my believe system on you. Everyone wants  to save the community and restore traditions, the community doesn’t need saving, you need to save yourself first. Sure it’s the against the law (note some laws need to be broken), but the calendar is not even that bad–it’s just a bunch of skanky looking girls (hopefully they are not like that in real life) posing semi-nude. If you don’t like it don’t buy it.

She’s about to POP!

Holy macaroni, literally she is due any day now. Not really, next month. “Lukkade” Metinee Kingpayom, who is 8 months pregnant with her first child, strutted down a cat walk and had her pregnant belly painted on for the Unlimited Sexy Bikini Fashion Show at the Central Festival Pattaya Beach event a few days ago. The body painting symbolizes love, peace, and safety of the environment.

You might not see it, there are two angel babies painted on Lukkade’s belly, the one on the left has a white heart, the one on the right has a green earth globe painted on top. The white heart represents the desired love for all Thai people, the green globe represents the need to bring awareness about “global warming”. As a community, we need to come together to combat “global warming”, Lukkade said during her interview. Obviously, the peace sign represents peace and tranquility for all Thais.

This is her last fashion show gig before she gives birth.

If you don’t know who she is, Lukkade is a very famous Thai model and actress. You might remember her from “Hua Jai Sila”, she played a prostitute and Bie’s aunt.

Taking a break and making a baby.

Successful model and actress “Lukkade” Metinee Kingpayom is taking a break from show business and trying to make a baby with farang husband Edward Chappern (? I don’t know how to spell his last name). The couple tied the note back in June 2007. They have been trying to conceive for quite some time but have been unsuccessful. Lukkade confessed that Edward has been ready to have a child for a long time and she wants a little girl.

A couple of months ago, there were reports that Lukkade and husband Edward made a trip to Jordon just to make a baby. I guess that trip didn’t work out because Lukkade is still not pregnant. Considering her age, 36 years old, it is understandable how she is having a hard time conceiving. Poor thing! I wish her the best.

Here is picture of Lukkade and Edward on their wedding day.

If you want to see more pictures of their wedding head over to Woman.mthai.com.
Bee Namtip looked good in these pics, nowadays she is extremely skinny.
