Roy Marn: I don’t want to marry you

Filming has begun on Margie Rasee and Boy Pakorn’s upcoming lakorn “Roy Marn” on Ch3, like many  I’m hyped to see both back on screen dueling it out. As seen in the clip below, it will be quite a match up for the pairing, who did not want to marry but is force to my their elders. It was an occurrence no one wanted to partake in. Margie is playing  a young girl of 18, university age, ready to go out in the world to explore her freedoms. She doesn’t want to get marry. For him, he didn’t want her, he wanted her cousin.  To express their dismay, they rebelled during their engagement ceremony scene by not making eye contact and frequently giving each other disgusted glances. For lakorn audiences, it will be amusing to watch this play out when the lakorn airs.

In the clip, Boy said this lakorn will have everything: drama, bickering scenes, guk-gik scenes, and the most enjoyable love scene. Oh. Really. Yes, that is when both Boy and Margie burst out laughing.

Hey Look, it’s the Thai version of Harry Potter

Margie Rasee and Tawin Yaowapalakul dressed up as Harry Potter and Hermione for the opening of “Harry Potte and the Half-Blood Prince” in Thailand earlier today. Margie donned a blonde wig while Tawin wore  circular shaped Harry Potter glasses for a show at the beginning.Tawin works as Harry Potter, Margie as Hermione, not so much.

I been seeing a whole lot of Pop Thakoon with Margie, Margie’s co-star from “Chameleon Fruit (Look Mai Plian See)”. I wonder if they are dating. He is definitely not part of the show.

Singer Chin might be in a lakorn

With Power 3 nang’eks Margie Rasee and Pat Napapa on Ch3 by the end of this year, nothing has been confirmed. Though Chin is primarily known as a pop singer for Grammy Records, he does have some acting experience, he was recently in a Taiwanese drama called “Love 18″ which aired in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore with 13 episodes.

Margie has a dead animal on her head

You know you were thinking the same thing. I know this is the “in” style at the moment in Thailand, but it’s so ugly. Kids nowadays, they have the weirdest fashion sense. “Cheer” Tikumporn Ritthapinan from Ch7 has the same haircut. UG!

Margie Rasee showed off her new hairdo last Friday at the opening ceremony of “Wan Jai Gub Nai Jom Ying (Wanjai and Jomying)”, a lakorn where Margie plays second fiddle to Matt Peeranee, who is paired with Mart Krissada. Though some are saying Margie will be paired with Louis Scott, someone wrote at Pantip that it has not been confirm yet. Taew Nataporn was also linked with the project but later dropped out for academic reasons.

This is another cooking theme lakorn for Mart. Both Margie and Matt are portraying cooks in the lakorn. “Wan Jai Gub Nai Jom Ying (Wanjai and Jomying)” is produced by Makers Group, the same company that produced “Jamleuy Ruk”.

Most likely, it will air sometime in the fall of 2009. Lakorns usually take 5-8 months to film.

Margie and Mart. Though her hair is “ugleee”, her make-up is flawless.

Benz the cameleon

Benz<-Rome->Namfon

The title of this lakorn is “Look Mai Plian See (its literal English translation means “Fruit that changes color”), it stars “Benz” Pornchita Na Songkhla, ‘Rome’ Patchada Nampan, “Namfon” Kullanat Preeyawat, “Chai” Chatayodom Hiranyatsathiti, Margie Rasee, and newcomer Pop Thakoon. It’s a confictual lakorn spanning two generations–problems of the parents affecting their children’s happiness. Metaphorically, Benz in this lakorn is the chameleon fruit, she will morphed to a vindicative/crazed woman when naturally she is a cheerful likable woman because of love–her heart was broken by Rome and his discretion with Namfon, who he later marries.

“Look Mai Plian See” is produced by TV Scene productions, it will air after “Saab Poosa (Cursed Fabric)”, taking up the Wednesday and Thursday time slot. It will premier sometime in April.

Cast and Characters:
“Benz” Pornchita Na Songkhla as Namthip (45)
‘Rome’ Patchada Nampan as Chatree (45)
“Namfon” Kullanat Preeyawat as Rithai (45)
“Chai” Chatayodom Hiranyatsathiti as Prasop (45)
Margie Rasee as Namnueng (22)
Pop Thakoon as Trin (23)

Simple Synopsis:

Twenty-two years ago, Namthip (Benz) and Chatree (Chatree) are first year medical students. Both are bright and optimistic, they fall in love and plan to marry after graduation. Then Rithai (Namfon), Namthip’s best friend comes into the picture and ruins everything. Rithai is a beautiful young woman who just recently graduated with a bachelor degree in business management and decided to come to Bangkok to find work.

Though Rithai knows that Chatree is her best friend’s boyfriend, she still pursues him while seeing a guy name Bancha. Rithai successfully plots a one night stand with Chatree, ashamed Chatree starts to avoid her. To get him back, she tells him she is pregnant with his child, when really it is Bancha’s baby. Sneaky woman.

When Namthip learns Chatree had impregnated her best friend she becomes a little crazed and tries to harm them both and herself. She fails every time because her best friend Prasop (Chai), who secretly loves her is there to stop her from attempting suicide and hurting others.

Unable to handle the pressures of life and seeing the only man she ever loved with a woman to whom she thought was her friend, feeling defeated, she goes back to her hometown pregnant with Chatree’s baby. Also during this time, Chatree and Rithai marry. Rithai gives birth to son, they name him Trin (Pop).

After graduation, Prasop heads to Namthip’s hometown, he opens a small clinic and becomes the adoptive father to Namthip’s daughter, Namnueng (Margie).

Fast-forward 22 years later, Namnueng and Trin are grown up. Chatree is a renown heart surgeon and Namthip is still crazed and angry about her scorn love. She teaches her daughter to be wary of men and is very strict regarding everything.

Namnueng graduates with a journalism degree and applies for a photographer position at a tour guide magazine. Simultaneously, Trin starts working there as a writer. I don’t think I need to tell you what’s going to happen next. Trin and Namnueng will develop a relationship and learn they might be siblings.

You can read a more detailed summary at Tina’s blog.

Odd right? The main adult characters are played by actors and actresses who are not even 30 or barely in their 30s. Rome is turning 25 this year and Benz is 29 years old. Kinda funny right, Pop Thakorn who is 23 years old, 2 years younger than Rome, he will portray Trin, Rome’s son. Margie is younger than him, she is 19. I believe Namfon and Chai are the oldest, they are both 33 years old.

Trin and Namnueng, are they siblings? Of course, they’re not. Dramatically near the end or middle, they will find out the truth.
