Ch7 chose the traditional route

You can never go wrong with Thai traditional wear–the colors are bright and happy, the traditional long wraparound skirt can make any women look lean and tall. It’s just beautiful.

The concept for Ch7′s 2011calendar is preserving the essence of being Thai. In a span of 2 days, Ch7 dressed more than 90 of their actors and actresses in traditional Thai wear from various eras to represent their patriotic concept for their 2011 calendar.

What’s up with the antlers?

Lets forget about the antlers, when it comes to Thai celebrity news, why is every celebrity (minus a few) always feuding with one another. Either they are fighting over a guy or girl or trying to get attention and gifts from some rich person, fighting over lakorn roles, it’s an endless cycle of jealousy, greed, and pure nonsense. It’s like they can’t play well with others or this is all fake and the media is making celebrity life into a rubbish lakorn. ?? True or Fiction, I can’t seem to tell the difference anymore.

Kwan, dubbed by the media as the ‘goddess of scandal’ is prone to these types of rumors—the feuding rumors. Here we go again, Kwan has a new batch of feuding rumors, this time with “Min” Pechaya Wattanamontree and nang’rai actress Moe Amena. When asked, of course Miss Kwan is gonna say ‘no beef yo’, I would be amazed if she didn’t.

Kwan is unfazed by it, she is used to it. “News between me and Min, once another newcomer comes along, I’ll get it again (have another rumor). It’s nothing ka. We are close. We know each other. News like this, I have heard it before. At first, I was confuse because I have never had a problem with Min personally or professionally.”

With Moe Amena, their beef stems from a guy. It is rumored that Moe’s current boyfriend is Kwan’s ex-boyfriend and there is slapping involve in their feud. With Moe too, there is no issue according to Kwan.

“There is nothing. We are acting in the same lakorn. We do slap each other often but it is in the lakorn. We slapped each other until our nails broke. To say that we were slapping each other over a guy, I think that is nonsense. Slapping each other in lakorns is better, you get paid for it too.” —you have to laugh at the last comment. Sassy!

Now Moe’s boyfriend is not Kwan’s ex, he was a friend explained Kwan. “He was not my boyfriend, I have said he was my friend. It’s chaotic in this regards. We are in the same circle, our friends know each other–connecting groups towards another group. There are many ages, you can’t really escape each other?”

From a tiger to a dog

I did not intend to watch or translate the summary for “Sawan Saang (Heaven Creates)”, Cee Siwat and Min Pechaya’s lakorn on Ch7 that aired last week, at all. It just didn’t interest me. I saw the teaser, it was just so-so. As requested by Sweet, I decided to look into. The premise of the plot is different for a lakorn though has been covered before–an evil man turns into a good man after a head injury.

The story centers around Narop Payakracha (Cee Siwat), a cruel man, a man who cares for no one but himself. Narop is a super genius who became president of a large company called “Tiger King” by the age of 25. He lacks a heart but does well in business.

Eau (Ratipong Phumalee) is a security guard who works at Tiger King. Eau is a good man, a good father, a good brother and son. He values his work and is devoted to Tiger King. Eau has a 10 year old son named Oh and his sister is Aoonjai (Min Pechaya)–a feisty young college student, who occasionally works as a hot dog girl at race tracks.

When Eau became partially disabled while rescuing people from a fire at Tiger King, Narop fires him because he has a dislike for weaklings.

After losing his job, Eau became suicidal. He has a family to raise and his mother is ill (she is handicapped). Because of his leg and what Narop had said to him, he decides to commit suicide by standing in front of Narop’s car during a race. Before the suicide attempt, Eau made a video confession:”I just found this out, Khun Narop. We value people differently. I value the heart of the person. You value what you can get out of them for your success and objective. You don’t have a heart. Inside,, you only care for success. Before I saw you as a hero, you were my goal, that I strived towards. But now I give up. Your level is too high for me and there is no reward waiting there, except loneliness. You will win anyways because you think you will always win. But no one wins forever. Possibly you might lose to a pathetic man like me. Losing is a good thing, it teaches us.”

Narop unintentionally hit Eau on the race track and his car flipped over. Both Eau and Narop were badly injured and were rushed to the hospital. Eau passed away. Narop suffered a head injury and was in a coma for a while, but he survived. After his accident, Narop partially lost his memory and his personality completely changed too. He was no longer cruel, no longer greedy, no longer ambitions. He turned into a laid-back kinda guy, goodhearted, and considerate of others. Nothing like what he was before. He wanted to get to know his servants, he didn’t shout at other as much. He didn’t care for the company or remembered how to operate it. This terrified his mother Khun Ying Nayika (Supreetha Khamnuansin), who raised him to fierce like a tiger.

After seeing her son interacting with the servants and wanting to get to know them, Khun Ying Nayika ordered Narop’s assistant Thong Thew (Note Watcharaboon Leesuwan) to change Narop to how he was before. She told Thong Thew: “My child is tiger! Not a dog who will move aside to let anyone pass by.”—eeee…his mum mum is scary.

As Narop is going against his mother and evolving into a better person, Aoonjai is coming after him to avenge her brother’s death. She is helped by the son of Tiger King’s rival company Phoenix. They have the dumbest company names ever. Things don’t go as plan because Narop is a different person now.

Pancake looked great, the rest look like Avatars!

Yea, yea, Manager Thai netizens are complaining again–female Thai stars were showing too much skin at the 7th annual TV Inside Hot Awards show this past Sunday, August 15th. The phrase ‘boob show’ was mentioned. Haha. But my most favorite comment from a Thai netizen regarding this subject involved Pancake and the film Avatar. Pancake wore a modest, orange, 1950′s style, formal cocktail dress–the color matched her boyfriend’s dress shirt. Good gosh, they are matching again. Once in a while is okay, but they do it so often, it bugs me. They’re like Thailand’s Ken and Barbie, they should just be Pancake and Weir. Oy. Sorry for the rant. You know me when it comes to couples matching, it’s irritates me to the core.

The comment:”Out of all of them, Pancake looked the best. She looked natural. The rest, they look like avatar.”–meaning they look fake, freakish. HAHA. That’s my interpretation.

More of Mac!

Mac is Min Pechaya’s older brother. Ever since he appeared on Aom Piyada’s variety show “Wan Waan Yang Waan Yoo (Everyday you’re still sweet)” a few weeks ago, the girls and the gays have gone ‘ga ga’ for him.

He’s coming back on the show airing this Friday, making ancient egg custard with his younger sister Min.  From his last appearance, we know that Mac doesn’t watch Min’s lakorns. He did watch one episode and complimented his sister on it. He couldn’t believe it was Min, his baby sister. She was good, better than before.  Min who was standing beside him when he said that laughed and proclaimed: “Wow, this is the first time my brother is giving me a compliment.”

In order to save face, he joked: “No, it’s not like that, she told me to prepare a compliment.” She called him ‘crazy’ and tried to smack him. He knew that smack was coming, so he moved.

According to Min, Mac is a protective older brother. Whenever a guy calls Min at the house, he would intercept the call and say: “What? why are you calling? She is not here, she doesn’t exist!”

I would never feed my brother, that would be too weird. One, he might smack me. Two, he is my brother, I prefer to see him starve to death then feed him.
